Nice video. I did a similar ride in November with a group of BMW GS riders. Had a little light rain going out of Kernville, but otherwise a great trip. It does get cold in the mountains, though, so dress in layers! Thanks for posting!

Yeah, nights in Kernville were chilly. Heated jackets help a bunch :). We want to do a Spring trip up into the sequoias when it’s warmer. Hope to see you out on the road.

Yikes, we took a ride up through BC a ways back. Would love to tour up that way. Let’s see what the summer brings :)

Couple of tips for next time ( when mt. snow isn’t a factor) you can continue up river from Whispering pines all the way across the sierras , coming out in the S J valley around porterville. From there you can access either the 99 north or over a little further west to the 5 and head home. You will see the most beautiful high country including the world famous trail of a hundred giants among other not to be missed sights. The original Johnny Mcnalleys lodge and steak house is up there too, about 15 miles north of where you stayed, and is a great place to stay the night when open and have a nice steak dinner in a historical place. Then, hang a right at the Johnsondale bridge head up Sherman pass road ( we used to call it cherry hill road growing up) and you can go ever the sierras the other direction thru once again must see places like the dome land wilderness lookout, Kennedy meadows , and drop down nine mile canyon into the desert just north of Ridgecrest on the 14 ( Pearsonville) enjoy

Trona may be an industrial town but it has a beautiful history. Read up on the epic journey of the Jayhawker party of 1849 that cut through Death Valley in a desperate attempt to get to the California gold fields via Los Angeles. It is one of the great survival stories of the American West.
