Thanks for all you time on the phone today. very much appreciated!
I appreciate this one....ordered the bleed screw kit before the video ended...thanks
Excellent video. Learning a lot about my car from this channel. Doing that screw for sure this weekend and probably that hose update since I have a '17. Cheers!
Thank you so much for watching I appreciate your support
I just replaced mines this morning. 😊 I’m actually looking at some other pieces as well. Preventive maintenance is real. I appreciate the video.
Good to hear! Defiantly helps preventable situations I wish factory was a little better so we wouldn’t have to do this to begin with
This helped me so much! I have had issues with this the past couple months. Replaced the hose and am definitely gonna buy the billet replacement.
Thanks for watching! I’m making another video soon on some cheaper replacement options from Alfissimo
Guys if you have an Alfa Romero Giulia 2.0 and you’re looking for ways to make it last the life of the car this is one of the best options
I agree this is defiantly helpful, keeping up with things keeps this car happy
Hey man did you have a video about the high pressure pump?
@@alfamods2.0T
Thanks for the info dealership try to charge 20 k for new engine but i decline service. I seen used engine for 2k just looking to see if i can find a mechanic to install engine. Im in chicago il midwest if u have any recommendations please get back to me. Again great info. U gained a subscriber
What's the name of that part so I can order one can someone tell me
Thanks for this help. Anything that can keep the car running well and away from the dealership is well worth doing. ( 2 month wait here in U.K. for replacement water pump under warranty) 👍
Oh wow that’s a long wait. Yes better to be a head of the issues
Super helpful thank you I will definitely be doing this on my 2017 Giulia.
Thanks for watching i appreciate the comment!
Just had to do this, Napa recommended just replacing it with the bleeder valve off of a infinity Q70 and it’s worked perfect
That’s great to know that’s an option! Thanks
Super informative! Definitely something every Alfa owner should replace!
Thank you bro! I think I’ve seen enough posts and real life issues someone had to address this. There is the DIY cheaper fix but I like the GMS replacements.
@@alfamods2.0Tthanks for being the only guy with informative videos on the Giulias. Have you found a coolant that works for our cars? I can’t even find the name brand one or much of any info about which coolant to use
@@artbv3258 I get it from the Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler dealership. It is purple in color.
Replaced it on my QV with a M8 ×12 screw, works perfectly and not overpriced.
Glad you were able to do it maybe make a DIY for people to watch it would save people a lot of money.
@alfamods2.0T True, i was close to buying the bleed screw from Alfisimo but his retarded website wouldn't take my card for some reason.
Great Vid! Going to buy this Asap
Thanks for watching hope this helps people solve it before it breaks.
Thank you, you've been very helpful
Your welcome thank you for watching
Thanks for the info. Recommend you use a laser pointer in your videos.
Thanks I will consider it! I’m sure it would help.
Are these hose/ bleeder screws only failing in 2017 models? thanks for the video! Should make a playlist for 'things to look into/replace in your new Giulia'
Hose failed on daughter's 2018
Thank you very much, God bless
Thanks for watching!
MARCH2024...Thank you so much! I'm having that leaking right now.
Had to replace mine about a month ago. Great thing is I had duct tape. I was able to put water in it and keep it going until I got where I can park it at my home.
Bro you just saved me just had this happen
Thank you much for the info, sadly I did not watch it on time.
Great video, Thanks!! Looks like Alfissimo is out of the GMS billet bleeder screws. It doesn't look like Madness even sells them. Is there any other Alfa parts stores that might have them?

Thank you for watching
Good job. You don't mind I ask you where did you get your rear wing from?
Happned to me last week, when i was parking to garage a seen a smoke coming from under the hood.. When i opened the hood the main expansion was empty, then i noticed leaking coolant from that screw. So i just changed the bolt with O ring seal and refill the missing coolant. Luckely i was driving from Frankfurt which is almost 500 km away, and it happed at hometown .
I hate that factory screw it’s been a pain for many I wish alfa was a bit more careful when selecting parts that secure important fluids.
Just replaced this on my Giulia. I watched your video a week back and thought to order it. Replacing it was super easy... one thing im worried about is my coolant seems to be at "min". Is it common for these cars to go through coolant overtime? Its been over a month since it was filled and i dont see any signs of a leak. should i be concerned?
Great info but now I'm paranoid lol
Lol I felt the same way after reading posts so I finally just fixed it.
Thanks for the video! Do newer models have this issue fixed? By the way, it is Alfissimo, not Alfissmo ; ) In italian the ending "issimo" is used to "maximize" an adjective, meaning "super" or "very".
I can’t believe I messed that up wow 😮. I just had to make a bunch of corrections thanks
This part blown in middle when I was riding))) water and smoke was lot
This bolt broke in my giulia few months ago. I've called firemans because I tought that engine is on fire. The repair was very cheap but there was a lot of stress. I hope I know about this earlier. What's worrying the computer do not showed any problems with the cooling system but the cooler tank was almost empty.
I’m really sorry you had to go through that stress. It is bothersome for being such a fancy computer system doesn’t have a sensor to indicator your loosing all that coolant
Happened to me weeks ago, ended up getting oil in the coolant and ruined engine, cooling system and radiator, overheated a street away from dealer as going in to service. Repairs gonna be 10-20k now, and I owe 19k on loan. What a coincidence it happened just at 4years warranty and few thousand past 50k mile warranty.
Hey mate. Did you leave the small rubber gasket or did you use the ones that came with the kit. Cheers
I used the kit ones it’s held up just fine just did a small road trip all is good
did you replace the hose as well or just the bleeder screws on the coolant valve
So this issue was resolved for the 2024MY?
Which year Alfa Romeo Giulia was the most reliable?
Hey where did you get the diffuser from ? I wanna get one, I have a 2019 base model and wanna add a quad diffuser if you could help me out, thank you
Yeah sure thing madness auto works has a quad type diffuser for the base. Mine is full OEM quad but you need the QV bumper and diffuser and it’s a lot of work I made a full video on my channel on what needs to be done to get the OEM QV rear to fit
The small one is on the back, where do I find the bigger one
?
Stock intake better than AFE? I may take out my EC V2 intake for the squadra tune
Yes it honestly is I would do the switch I did. AFE was the only comparable one and I still liked stock more with a drop in filter
@@alfamods2.0T trying to find an aem filter; I heard BMC let's too much particles.. still not sure. Thanks man great content
Mi 2006 alfa 166 has that same plastic bleeder, purged it several times when replacing thermostat/coolant, never had any problem. 330K miles
I’m glad it’s served you well wow 330k is a lot very cool your 06 is going strong 💪. Unfortunately for whatever reason on these Giulia/ Stelvio it’s a constant issue with it breaking and leaking coolant and when it does happen the whole hose has to be replaced if you want the OEM screw it’s not sold alone. So I am simply making people aware of the problem. There is lots of fixes even DIY screws people can use, I don’t make these replacement ones just showing people the options.
@@alfamods2.0TUsual dealer behaviour, buy half car for a screw!
Yeah those DIY hacks are extremely useful and cost-saving, did lots of those to mine.
Stories like "This bushing is not sold, you have to buy the whole $600 part".
Sure! Found Mercedes used the same, $20 each.
Cheers!
Hey I have a 2019 base gulia model I wish I ran into this video sooner as my bleed screw broke into half and I’m having trouble removing the buttom half do you know how to possibly help with that by any chance please?
Heat up a small flat head super hot and stick it in there, let it cool, and unscrew it if you can if you need a temporary fix autozone has little plastic tubing you can put in place instead of the valve
What about rattle noise when starting?
How to change power steering fluid for this
is it possible to overtighten these and cause the coolant to overheat? i accidentally cross threaded it and the coolant screws are super hot i’d that normal ?
As long as it’s not leaking being super hot is normal. Now if your engine is over heating that’s not normal and your probably leaking somewhere.
You should be more specific as to which 2017s require the hose replacement/update. I believe this only applies to those built in January 2017, not Mid Year 2017 (those built in May and later). Can you confirm this?
Before 06/2017 edited in the description.
@@alfamods2.0Twhere did you get June as the cut off?
@@wcficionado7666 I would screen shot it but I can’t post that here it’s on Alfissimo’s website in the link, he put the manufacture cut off date feel free to do further research, I’m sure he did his diligence before posting an exact date on an OEM product he sells. The Giulia forums are great for searching stuff like this if this isn’t sufficient. The easiest way to tell is to look at the hose it’s self if it looks different than the updated one you have the non updated one.
Do you recommend replacing it on 2024? For the 1st part ( little bleed screw replacement ) ?
Yes if the 2024 has the same looking bleed screw, it should have the same then yes.
@@alfamods2.0T thank you !
My caught on fire cuz the first on you show broke and drained all my coolant and it didn’t tell me I had no coolant or low coolant (I replaced the one that broke it fixed it and nothing was burned on my engine after the fire)
Wow that’s crazy I’m glad your ok and the car is ok. They really should have some alert to low coolant. I’m surprised they don’t.
After doing the screw swap, no leak when I turned the car on at first but after shutting the car off I noticed a small drip coming from that area. Is that normal? There wasn’t any drip while it was running but after shutting off a small drip. Maybe a total of 5 or so drops before stopping. Should I be concerned?
Correction, still small drip
@@jbtalampas13 oh my, did you ever get this resolved?
hi all, where is the second one?
I had a turbo coolant leak after one week that I bought the car, got it fixed under warranty now my car is up for engine replacement it’s been sitting at the service shop for 3 months warranty hasn’t approved the engine replacement yet I don’t know what will happen next 😢
Wow I really hope that they replace it. In the worse case they want you to pay. Find a 3rd party shop that will swap it with a used engine used cost about 2k and install should be around 2k. Don’t get sucked into the 10k they will try and sell you.
I got some smell when i push hard accelerator , like somewhere bleedin antifreeze, but non visible, maybe it is fault of this part?
It’s very possible I would just check things out with a flash light if it’s a slight leak somewhere you will see pinkish residue I would look on all the coolant lines, where it connects to the turbo as well, and the radiator.
@@alfamods2.0TI checked everything there is nowhere leak visible
Would you say this a problem with all guilias 2017 and up ?
Yes it is.
Hell yeh dude i need to do this. How easy was install?
Super easy if you don’t drop things lol 😂. It’s a good part Alffismio says he’s working on a cheaper better made one soon
@@alfamods2.0T hmmmm ok great! Good to know! Any need to bleed the system afterwards? I assume you do this when car is completely cold
No need to bleed it just let it sit a while and change them over
Too late for me. Mine broke off my 2017 Giulia with 90K miles and left the "screw" part still inside the housing. I had to replace the whole pipe ($249). If it hasn't happened to you yet, follow this guys' advice!! Its cheap and easy *before* it fails.
What is the name of the entire part? Mine just broke off and was trying to just replace the connector with the bleeder screw only not entire pipe
@@shalimarosorio1533was it the first part in video ? ( that broke off )
I own a 2020 2.0 do I have to do it?
Yes you do. I’ve had more than my share of people message me after the fact or message me while it’s happening. Just do it Alfissimo has made their own now it’s even cheaper. It’s either pay 30-40 bucks now or pay a tow to a dealer for warranty work. It’s very inconvenient when it happens.
Arent there two screws in the 2.0?
Yeah the back one is not as prone to leaking. It’s great if you wanna do both, but the one replaced in the video is the most common to burst.
Do you get rough idling on cold starters?
Yeah somewhat it’s always been like that never an issue I just let it settle before I drive.
Oh ok. I have a 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia for 2 months and I just started to noticed the rough idle in the mornings but no check engine light. So I thought it felt weird
@@Fooeazy1990change the spark plugs my car did that because it ran to lean had an exhaust and intake with no tune will make the spark plugs foul out faster or could just genuinely be old sparks

So we don’t have to change the larger one correct?
If you don’t want to it will more than likely be ok. It is still plastic so always a chance it may do the same and break
@@alfamods2.0T I notice while changing having my hand on the engine , the engine moves side to side so easy that normal for this car?
Had this problem with my 2019 giulia and needed that same exact coolant hose was spraying coolant all over. Now I need to replace brake module and ordered a new one for leaking brake fluid. Love the car, but starting to think this car is like bmw bring my wallet.
Yeah these cars do have a downside. It’s not all of them, but yes things cost. Thats why I always recommend getting multiecuscan so you can do your own module changes and can cut the dealer out as much as possible.
