Someone correct me if I am wrong, But the whole scene with Bruce making Evan do the hilarious noises was 100% improvised.
Edit: The movie Even Almighty is a direct sequel and quite lovable as well.
I wouldn't call Evan Almighty a direct sequel. It's more of a spin-off, and it's definitely not as good. Evan Almighty comes across as more of a family film than a straight up PG-13 comedy.

@@Mr_M_ It's technically the same character, but the career path feels odd when you remember that he went from news anchor to senator. I know that kind of thing has happened with celebs going into politics (Jesse Ventura, Arnold Scharwzenegger).
@@Galiant2010 News anchors very often go into politics because they're a celebrity figure who is outspoken about news and politics.
@@Mr_M_ Agree to disagree because I find almost all the Bruce Almighty adult jokes terribly cringe and Evan Almighty to be superior and better represent a person at conflict with God.
Evan Almighty followed this one since Carrell did such a good job in his scenes.

because of the nostalgia it is tied with the LOTR series as my favorite movie. when i grew up the only movies i owned on vhs was The mask and Super Mario Bros.

i watched it with my family everytime it was on air, to me it was "haha funny guy haha" while my parents appreciated the adult humor and the story, now i understand what a gem this was and how lucky i was to have seen this movie so many times

It sounds too "present", as though they were mic'd. Normally you don't want to capture crew sounds, so the laughter in outtakes tends to sound a little more distant.

@@YorkshiremanReacts26 As someone who has actually studied sound design in media (but ultimately went the direction of video editing), yeah. I notice these things. And you can see it in plenty of videos where they film in studios with lots of crew, when the crew laughs they're barely audible because the mics are pointed in specific ways to pick up the intended subjected while also reducing other sounds in the studio from the crew.
I love this movie honestly, as funny as it is, it serves as a reminder that Great Power often comes with its own consequences and i appreciate the message
I was crying laughing at that part where he messes with Evan’s news reporting when I first saw it in theaters. Actually crying from laughter

After watching this as a kid I’ve never been able to imagine Gods voice as anything other than Morgan Freeman’s
The nice car that Bruce drove was one of my favorite cars as a child, Saleen S7 twin turbo, very nice and very fast 0-60 in less than 4 seconds!
Other Jim Carrey films you should add to the roster would include The Mask, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (save that for December), both Sonic the Hedgehog films and Liar Liar. There are many, many more, but those are my personal favourites.
Should definitely watch The Anchorman 1 and 2! You'd love it

Fun fact: when they're walking on water, it's actually not an ocean at all. It's a pond that universal has on their backlot that they make to LOOK like it is, through some clever camera angles.
There is a sequel Even Almighty (Steve Carell) which I'd suggest you'd react, Great Reaction.

Morgan Freeman makes this movie. Nobody else could play God in this movie. And Jennifer Aniston really humanizes Jim’s over the top antics.

The Truman Show is probably my all-time favorite Jim Carrey film if you're going down the rabbit hole.

I believe this is the movie that really launched Steve Carrell's career as he is just knee-slapping hilarious in it.
On a more serious note; the most interesting thing I discovered in watching this film that most people miss, is that this movie is pointing out how useless the concept of a "Supernatural Entity" is. Morgan Freeman (God), in this, almost literally says, "You don't need me at all; you have the power to do it yourself.".
I don’t normally watch a lot of Jim Carrey movies but this one really makes his humor and personality shine ❤

I always thought that this movie reflected on what was happening in Jim Carrey's career at that time. Jim wanted to leave his goofy antics and do some serious Oscar-worthy roles. But, that did not work out for him.
