Ya know Ryan the best part of your videos is how when you play a song you’re not too familiar with, you explain what version you’re playing and jus overall super humble.
I like DMB, especially the acoustic stuff, probably one of the better live bands. That being said I think his hands and brain are connected in a very unique way, so I'm fine with not even attempting his songs on guitar. Thanks for doing this one, I'm not there yet but this looks potentially doable, definitely maybe at some point later in the future sometime ;)
I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. I think there is no reason to be in drop D to play this song and a very nice arrangement could be configured in standard tuning that would work out a bit better as an abalone (standalone), but that's not how his brain works! I considered doing that video for this video, but I thought for the first dave video i should stay dave true. hehe. there's a motto.
RYAN SENSEI so happy you included this tutorial this is an AMAZING song !!! So greatful for the lesson and the time... PLEASE CAN YOU LISTEN TO "Little Sun by The Blues Pills" i will be forever greatful if you could bring out a tutorial of that song !! Cheer from mexico amigo !!! Keep rockin
Wooo, this is going to take some time lol. Thank you for diving in this lesson! I appreciate it! Since you are kind of unfamiliar with DMB I would recommend checking out the album "Crash" and go back and maybe forward if you like it. DMB is an acquired taste i guess lol. Such a great live band. Cheers ✌
I'll be a bit of the odd duck. I came to Dave's music very, very late and it only clicked for me when I heard Dave and Tim and Radio City. That completely blew me away, highly recommend if you're primarily an acoustic guy.
no way. alright, look for more dave in the future then :) that's also my dad's name, and he plays the trumpet. i should do a whole series Dave plays Dave on the trumpet
Ryan Lendt there’s a great Kids in the Hall video from the 90s called ... these are the Dave’s I know. It’s pretty corny... going to find it for you ...
unbelievable! I used to make a team and name all the players my friends names and play the lovely ladies over and over again because despite the fact that they were easy to beat you won the most money for beating them, and you could ultra upgrade your players. best baseball game ever made.
Ryan, two of my dearest friends are getting married and have asked me to play a couple of tasty tunes on the night. They have specifically asked for PJ's Future Days to be among those tasty tunes, which I personally think is an excellent choice. Future Days is a song I have played many times on the old guitar, but I just have this nagging feeling that it would be a lot more wedding-like if I were to play it on the piano. I have begun work on a piano version, but could certainly use some help. So my question is this: If I were to donate some turtle food, do you think you would be able to translate Future Days into a full-fledged tasty piano tune before June 14th? That would give me a full week to finalise preparations which should be sufficient :)
YES! and I've already worked it all out in my head. I'll have it for you within the next 7 days. cool if we put it in the key of C or do you want it in the original key? It would be an honor to contribute in this way to your dearest friends' wedding.
@@RyanLendt This is fantastic news! Many thanks in advance! Key of C is how I usually play it on the guitar (saves me from having to look for my ever disappearing capo hehe), so that is totally fine. It wouldn't be the biggest of struggles for me to transpose it back to Db anyway :) Turtle food should be on its way :)
When you say, "DROP D TUNING," you mean only the low E string and not the high E string? What is the difference in terminology if you mean to drop BOTH "E" strings? Thanks, Ryan.---EDIT-- Okay, I researched and found out it's called "DOUBLE DROP D" when you drop BOTH "E" strings to D. How about playing "Old Laughing Lady" by Neil Young in DOUBLE DROP D TUNING? And Sing a little of it in your voice? Thanks, Ryan.
that's funny, I don't think I've ever dropped both E strings, but yeah, anything is a tuning, and look you've found a song :) we do need to do some neil young.
Did I say they were there? I don't do notes for every song, just the odd one that I need notes to make it through. If I did say they were there, did you look for the super secret backwards code name?
Yes. More Dave Matthews Band, please. :)
I'm feeling so relieved :)
Ya know Ryan the best part of your videos is how when you play a song you’re not too familiar with, you explain what version you’re playing and jus overall super humble.
why thank you Tyler :) this is a process of discovery for all of us, including me. Cheers friend!
Haunting and Beautiful (The best song he (Dave) ever did.

I don’t see the sheet on your website. I was looking for some of the chords. All I see is a link to Spotify, UA-cam and IG. Thank you.
did you go to the show notes page and use the super secret backwards code?

Hey man! This just “popped” up as i was cruising youtube. This is cool stuff! Thx! Do you think you could simplify you and me together by DM?
We DMB fans are legion

thanks for the vote Mike!
Hey dude, umm more DMB 😬
it's on the maybe soon list!
Where is your leaf hat.... lol
oh don't worry, that's getting a big shout when the shopping cart is functional!
I hate Dave Matthews but I like this song.
hehe. i may or may not agree with that statement.
Oh that Dave and his silly chords..He wrote these on purpose to confuse, right?.😂
Dave Matthews Band is okay if your not under the bridge when their tour bus stops overhead to dump their sewage into the creek and onto your head.
ha! I remember that :)
