E08 | The Big Lap - Gibb River Road (Part 1)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 вер 2020
- We are starting the Gibb River Road!!
660kms of corrugated road carving its way through gods country with magnificent gorges and water holes just waiting to be explored.
Looks a little different this year, with a few places not open this dry season.
But the pay off is that it is crazy quiet, with very little traffic passing through and most gorges to ourselves!
Stay tuned for The Gibb Part 2 next week,
Cheers guys!
Cam, Tiff and Chloe.

Another great episode! I hate it when ya forget to secure the bin at night. Coz I'm always the mug that has to go check it out, like 2 weeks ago on kangaroo Island. Bloody wallabies getting into it at 2am 🤣
The Gibb River Road is on my 'to do' list. Looks like there is so much to explore and do. Thanks for sharing your adventures , Cheers, Grant.
I did the same trip 15ys ago with my baby kids they all grown up now but always remind me of the little things we did on our adventures
Your young lady will do the same thing when shes a big kid well done
No doubt in my mind of that!
The reason we are doing it is because my folks took me and my brother on a lap when we were kids, lit a fire in me!
Was a bit different back then though, slept in cheap dome tents on yoga mats and a fortnights food was in the esky or tinned 😂
Great vid guys really enjoyed it again , keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍
OMG I can’t believe how many crocs were on the river bank!!! 🐊Scary!

My travel list is extending by your episodes. Thanks for sharing!
Great simple Onion Loaf recipe

Really enjoying seeing the Gibb from the other side of Oz. We have been both east west and west east on the Gibb and will go again, always spectacular. While everything is not open you are so lucky without the crowds and at times erratic traffic. Thanks and Enjoy.
Chloe is amazing.
Nice seeing Australia through your eyes.
Amazing country we have. Thankyou for taking me along with you on your journey on The Gibb River Road, our old bus can't do corrugated road...this is the next best thing... cheers
Loving the trip folks. You got lucky with tunnel creek, we I visited there the water was waist deep.

Mate have to say I've watched a couple of your early videos but this series around WA since you've picked up the MDC is the best yet. The cinematography is fantastic. Keep up the good work and safe travels to your family.
Been waiting for this part of northern Wa. Keep the vids coming guys COVID or no COVID one of the best auz touring channels on the tube 👍👍👍
Hey guys how do we get stickers??
LOVE your videos, guys! They're fresh, down-to-earth, but still very well shot and edited. I've done a lot of outback travel (kickstarted when was the official photographer for the '89 Australian Safari), and you're really inspiring me to get back out there!
Great video and awesome film work and editing
Another great one! You guys have it all, 4wding, kids, a cooking segment and how can we forget Tiffs lip syncing! Can you please choose a song and sync in every episode??? Love it. Safe travels to you
Getting better each video. Gotta try the bread you cooked
Awesome spots 🤙
Great footage and so well shot, drone footage is stunning. Well done, you inspired me to my own small adventure to Tibooburra in NSW and Cameron’s Corner where our three states meet. Many caravan and camping parks in NSW have many RVs and thousands on the roads. Look forward to the next one.
Cameron's corner is on our bucket list!
Great vid as usual guys
Good sing along 😂
Just got a booking for Pender Bay before the Gibb late April thought I’d better look back through your channel for a refresher .... looks so good . Thanks for the info guys 🙌
You’ll love it! Be careful around the water, there was a croc attack there not long after we were there (but he was spear fishing there which is mental!!!!)
@@WildTouring oh thank you . People are crazy . I did the Malcolm Douglas croc park tour a couple of weeks ago . Those images are still fresh in my mind lol. We will be very careful 😂🐊
My insparation bro, ive also got a little girl not even two yet. We want to do exactly what you guys are doing, slowly building up the 4wd, and then ill get a trailer, youve put a hybrid in my head now, looks luxurious. Keep living the dream mate
Congratulations on the video! I am from Asuncion, Paraguay and I am passionate about Australia, especially Western Australia. My dream is to one day visit the Pilbara and the Kimberley. The video is very interesting. Greetings from Paraguay !.
Thanks for the comment mate. Northern Western Australia is spectacular and I hope you get the opportunity to see it yourself one day!
Oh my! You were braver then me I wouldn't be in that cave hahaha
Haha poor old Tiff wasn't feeling too brave 😂
Omg I’m sitting here watching Ep.15 now how funny you liked my comment while I was watching 😂 hope you’re staying out of this rain x
@@KiwiChick22 haha, yes thankfully, it's pouring!!!
Cheers
Really enjoying watching your vids. Only discovered you guys a few days ago and have been bingeing flat out!! Love em! So Tiff, my wife loves your sunnys, what are they please?
Cheers Terry, Tiff said they were cheapies from Cotton On 👍
Did the gibb in June 2019 and it was dry... Great excuse to go back...
You Guys are True Blue Safe Travels
Cheers mate!
Episode 9 "on this episode cam gets sunburnt" 🤣
That’s every episode, even with the litres of sunscreen he applies 😂
Would love to know how the pull out kitchen goes and particular the gas hot plates . Cheers guys ! Love the vids 👍
We love the outdoor kitchen 😊

🤪🥰🥰👌👌👌👚👚👚🦄🦄🌈🌈
awesome video guys.... how are those twins coming along? Keep up the great work!
😂
Cam I hope Emu has been chipping n with all the exposure you give em. If not they bloody should.. 😆
Haha I wish!
Next time ya in Broome with any diff, axel or drive shaft probs look up Shane healy.you tube legend of that area and an expert getting hands on greased parts.
Love the videos, you guys are certainly enjoying yourselves. Can you tell us what you have used for your quick links for attaching your safety chains to the vehicle....sure beats D shackles by the looks of it.
Clevis hook 👌
Good onya guys lovin watchin ya footage ! Is the travel buddy power hungry ? Like ya say pre heat it while driving then bit better ay !
The one I've got draws 10a, there is a smaller one that draws 6a. I generally pre heat it or cook while I'm driving. Or during the day when I'm in full sun, as I can get 12ish amps off the solar on the roof!
awesome, loved it. every one better than the last. how long did the cup cakes take in the travel buddy and how did you fix the washing machine..
I think they were about two hours 😂
The washing machine had a switch to turn the motor off when the lid is open. The contacts on the switch were shagged from corrugations, I cut the switch out and hardwired it.
Kept going for another couple of weeks and then the motor burnt out anyway (you'll see in future Eps). Just not up to the job of rough roads unfortunately.
Привет из Алматы Мы также путешествуем как и вы даже похожи друг на друга
Really enjoyed the video guys, the gibb is on my bucket list. how is the van handling the ruff stuff ?
Eating it up! No dramas whatsoever
Love it. Is the road hard going??
I guess that's subjective and would depend on how much traffic has been through since grading. From my perspective it was a good graded gravel road, we were comfortably able to sit on 70-80kms and only locked it into 4wd when we ventured off the road looking for free camps.
I'd have no hesitation driving any 4wd through with good tyres.
Thete are 2 Caravan Parks in Derby not 1 as youmentioned. You would have driven past the first one, huge sign on road, to get to Kimberley Entrance. The first one is Dumbara Burru Caravan Park.
All you need to do to survive a croc attack is outrun the other people in your party
Just started to get the Pepsi mango here in Melbourne the boys tried it said it’s not bad
Great video guys,. We did the Gibb 2014 and it was a lot busier than you have encountered. The video brings back some great memories. How warm was the water? It was freezing when we were there. Enjoy your trip.v
Pretty chilly in the gorges!
Minding your own business…. Chillin… chillin… oh yeah, just a croc.. haha only in Australia!
Can you please
give your onion bread recipe? It looks awesome!
Really enjoyed your filming and the commentary.
The cooking segment is inspirational, too.
How is the Forbs van going ?
Not looking to buy a van for a bit but.....down the track an adventure up the Gibb River Road is definitely on my Bucket List
cheers mate, the Forbes performed really well. Theres a few videos on my channel with reviews and footage of little issues we had, but overall we were really impressed with how it fared given where we took it.
Will you guys to a vid on your truck set up please? Looks like you’ve got some gear in there 👏
There are seperate videos on the car and van but we may do a complete run down sometime on the trip, including tips etc we find useful 😊
Wild Touring thankyou. Look forward to it. Great videos 👏👏👏
Thanks for taking the time to post your content, enjoy watching it. How do you find the Forbes 13? We are looking to upgrade from out forward fold, the Forbes is a serious contender im just conscious about the weight.
Hows the price for the cvs from repco 🙈 had to buy one a few weeks back. Ouch
We're loving it. We upgraded from a forward fold too. Never thought we would be caravan people. But the Forbes is a brilliant size to be able to get down tighter tracks and into those speccy camp sites. And then have the comfort of a hot shower and an inner spring mattress!
For Tiff!
Pepsi Mango is AH-MAZ-ING! It's been out for a few weeks out and I've been stockpiling in case they take it away. It's beautiful!!
