  • THE GIBB RIVER ROAD | WHAT COULD GO WRONG? | WINDJANA GORGE | TUNNEL CREEK | BELL GORGE | GALVANS GORGE | EP 16
On The Waugh Path lap of Australia - UA-cam family caravanning Australia - Western Australia
Welcome & great to have you travelling along with us! We're On The Waugh Path and we've been visiting campsites around Australia for over 18 months, wanting to do The Gibb River Rd forever! We live in our caravan full time and love sharing our lap of Australia via UA-cam - up to episode 16 - final doing the Gibb River Rd!
This episode, we finally get to travel the iconic Gibb River Road in The Kimberley region of Australia! We explore all the sites along the way:
    - Break something very early on
    - We find freshwater crocodiles at the awesome Windjana Gorge
    - Stay at Windjana Gorge campground with its huge boab trees
    - Check out Tunnel Creek swimming through water with fresh water crocodiles
    - Make our way through a tough creek crossing to Lennard Gorge
    - Take a swim under the waterfall at Lennard Gorge
    - Stay at Silent Grove campground and find the van a mess
    - Visit the stunning Bell Borge for a swim and rock slide near the waterfall
    - Take a leap from the rope swing into the water at Galvans Gorge
Have you travelled The Gibb River Road? What did you think? Did you have anything go wrong? Did your car and caravan make it through The Gibb River Rd in one piece?
We hope these videos give you some inspiration to travel Australia, and some tips and information for planning to do the lap of Australia.
We’d love to hear from you on your thoughts about the episode, and your adventures on The Gibb River Road. Feel free to subscribe to the channel too.

I absolutely love your content, so good to see another girl driving with the van on 🤩👌. I do the majority of the driving with the van myself and I absolutely love it, hubby usually sleeps while I drive too so he gets a lot of well deserved down time while I drive. Thanks for being authentic and sharing your adventures 😍

Another great episode guys. Loved following you as you explored all the wonderful gorges. 😎 Interestingly, the family you see in the background at Galvans Gorge when Danny is captured in mid air, is another family doing a big trip much like yours. They call themselves Going Overland. I am following you both here on YT. It seems many of the travelling families that I follow were all on the Gibb River Road at the same time. 🙂

Yeah I think you’re right about that. In fact apart from Going Overland I think we did it before some of the others. I still have to check Going Overland out. I think you’ve mentioned them before actually.

Great to see the whole family is enjoying the Gibb River Road. The Gorges are fantastic. I've been fortunate enough to have done the Gibb a few times and enjoyed it immensely every time. Lots to see and do. Keep up the good work, love following your travels. We hope to be up that way next year.

@@ebonywaugh7271 it depends on when the grader went through. It was much the same each time although some sections were rougher than others. I must admit we weren't towing a caravan, but we did do all the Gorges, Kalumburu and Mitchell Plateau, Mornington Station, the Karunjie Track etc, etc. Lots to see and do. We will be towing a caravan next time though and doing it in luxury. You seem to be doing it OK, and good to see you Ebony, tackling some of those tracks.

Absolutely enjoyed this episode as I did the others. Missed your rambling session. The footage was bl:::::y marvellous, some of those fresh water crocs looked rather large and a bit scary. I think Ace could do with a neck pillow on those rough roads but he has no trouble falling asleep. Your episode and commentary sure makes the trip across the Gibb very inviting, thanks for sharing your journey keep on enjoying yourselves. Looking forward to your episode and your posts

Thanks. I have started watched quite a few GRR videos in preparation for my own adventure. Really enjoyed this - don't know what it is that makes this one of the better videos I have watched, perhaps a good balance between road, gorge walking, campsites or maybe just AA (Awesome Ace) and his dancing. Now off to watch some of your other episodes. PS am about to get myself a GoPro - I am hoping you may have an episode where you may mention the good/bad of it and what accessories you find useful - here's hoping!

      @ebonywaugh7271 2 роки тому +1

Hiya! Thanks for that great review of our GRR episode, really appreciate it. Love the ‘AA’ Ace will love that 😆❤️ We love his dances and songs that he keeps making up. Re the go pro, it’s hard to comment because that’s all we’ve used so don’t have much to compare it to. The one we use in the car is very old and we get comments that the sound on it isn’t great. The one we normally use is pretty good but again, hard to compare to similar products in the market. Sorry we couldn’t be more help with that.

We had a similar coffee situation coming out of Cobbold Gorge in NQ last year. Ours was worse as a carton of long life milk wore through and leaked everywhere and mixed together🤢 Lucky it was our non dairy drinker's rice milk - it could have been far worse🤣

Hey - we don't have a snorkel and there was only 1 crossing that we couldn't do without it. But it will obviously depend on when you're doing it. We did it at the end of the dry season. Waters will be higher at the start, and depending on how wet the season is.
