"I've become a much more annoying person, but at least I'm happy." Truly the best way of putting it. I'm so annoyingly invested into this series, but damn if I didn't make so many positive memories along the way and experienced so much joy from this series and the fandom.
The stone ocean finale literally had me in tears. Everything about it was just perfect. And those credits man. I think that’s legitimately the most emotional I’ve ever gotten about an anime. It was just…wow
Nothing beats when in high school, my friend and I got another guy in our chemistry class to start watching JoJo. He was watching it during class one day and when Jonathan did the sunset overdrive, he yelled "HES GOING F***IN SUPER SAIYAN" out loud in the middle of class. Needless to say the teacher was looking at our table very judgingly.
So I just finished the anime and... Wow I can't believe that it ended. What an ending. I can't believe how choked up I am about Jojo. This is the hardest I've cried in a good long while. Thank You Araki For Everything.
I'm so glad they clarified it a bit from the manga. A lot of people came away from the original release thinking the entire series up to that point had been retconned away somehow
About the Giorno's parentage point, I personally really like how him being a charismatic, righteous, ruthless, determined person kind of mixes Dio's and Johnathan's personalities together. So while it in-universe indeed didn't really add much, I think it does help to make his character more interesting for a reader.
I would agree but thing is, 5 of the jojos can be described that way. The only thing special about giorno is who's balls he came out of, and araki himself didn't even care about that.
@@Skibbutz Jotaro and Josuke aren't really ruthless. Both Star Platinum and Crazy Diamond are capable of killing people with a single punch, but user's good nature prevents them from doing that. Golden Experience has much less raw power but it doesn't stop Giorno for murdering people, because he is ice cold like that
Listening to you talk about this was like talking with a friend about how much this series means. It has touched so many people, and I am still in shock that Stone Ocean has been fully animated. It's only just sinking in that the original universe is finished. Thanks for making this video, it was really great to hear
Just watched the finale. Gotta be real It got emotional, loved it allot. I gotta talk about the opening of the last episodes my god. I think it´s now like on my top 3 JOJO OPs. And I literally jumped off my chair on the last episode with the homage of the first opening it was amazing.
I dont think I've seen a video from you since your Pop Team Epic Hey Andy Sweetie video. But I am so glad I clicked on this. 100% genuine love for this silly series where a teenager with a pompadour has to out-drive killer floating feet on a motorcycle. Without the "I'm and Alien" episode specifically, I probably never would have figured out lip syncing animation when I was just starting to learn to animate in high school. Reason for that being that it was one of DiU's outsourced episodes, and Okuyasu's lips bounced off of his drawing for a fraction of a second. I remember being so excited about realizing how that worked that I couldn't sleep that night. Now I do art for a living. Roundabout journey indeed!
I'm a JoJo fan for like 4 years and I can say that I most certaintly teared up on thr ending of the anime, of JoJolion and now this ramble makes me wanna fall in tears. JoJo and any other series can change a person very much
Its been such a journey that its almost hard to believe that its over. I'm so glad you could share how much it did for you, because I also feel like this show also kinda shaped me as I just started getting into adulthood. That being said, I now desperately want to hear what you think about Steel Ball Run and Jojolion
Got into the series a few years back and it’s been fun. Honestly it was my friends who were pushing me towards it and you saying to try it was the final push. So thanks man, thanks for helping me get into the series
I know this may seem like such a minor point to bring up, but I am SO GLAD that Salty said that JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is not a comedy. Every time I say as such, someone always 'corrects' me because "Oh, it's got 'Bizarre' in the title, the characters are named after songs and there are a lot of memes based around the series, so it MUST be a parody". Also, I completely agree with Salty on Phantom Blood episode 1. Literally my favorite first episode of any anime.
Your phantom blood video is literally what convinced me to start watching jojo and after months of not touching part three you make me want to pick it back up again. I guess I know who not to get too attached to now too lmao
There is a new Diamond is Unbreakable spin-off, crazy diamonds demonic heartbreak. It’s not directly written by araki but it’s really good and nails the feel and his writing style
Strangely enough I got into JoJo’s around the same time I got into Salty’s content, so in a weird way they’re connected to me. Both things that have helped me through tough times and make me feel like I’m hanging out with friends. I won’t be able to watch Stone Ocean for a while, but I’m happy to hear how much this show means to you. It’s one of my personal favorites, and will always hold a place in my heart for the connection it’s made with me and my closest friend
It is absolutely incredible how much of your experience and relationship with the series mirrors my own. Obviously I'm a little younger, I was a freshman in high school when I got into Jojo, and I believe the Part 5 anime was either wrapping up or getting to around the halfway point, but still, the way you described your feelings for this series put into words so much of what I feel for this world and these characters. And unfortunately, I never got the opportunity to watch Jojo blind. Hell, I didn't even go into Jojolion blind until I was caught up, which was somewhere in the middle of the final fight. But Jojo still means so much to me, and it always will. Thank you for putting a lot of what I was thinking into words. Much love - Pyro
I am also rlly happy i went into jojo blind . I got into it around 2017 when someone on tumblr reblogged jotaro and josuke art and i really liked their designs I decided to start watching it . I had no idea what i was getting into and I’m so happy i didn’t know because my reactions to everything was so genuine . When the part 3 opening changed with dio I literally gasped I couldn’t believe that was something you could even do. It’s such a fun and creative anime . And the manga!! God the manga is so good !! I’ve read the whole thing and I’m so excited for part 9 you have no idea . Great video dude
It was one hell of a ride wasn't it Fuck Netflix in some ways, but honestly,I'm glad Stone Ocean was animated See y'all in 2030 when Steel Ball Run gets announced
Listening to your experience with discovering JoJo brought back so many memories. I got into it when I was in College and my experience with watching the anime and getting hooked on it just for its uniqueness was a lot like yours! And I actually find that our opinions are a bit similar (although I should say that I was actually intrigued by stands from the start and wanted to see where it was going), like to the exact point of not liking Jotaro at first. It's a bit weird but listening to your rambling brought back a ton of memories for me too, and it kinda brought me back to the guy I was when I started getting obsessed with JoJo. This video kinda means a lot to me now, just for that.
i just finished part 6 yesterday after binging the full anime for around two months, and man, those credits got me super bad, i cant imagine how emotional it was for long time fans. the impact this show has had on me in only these two months as an artist is actually fucking nuts. i wouldnt have started jojo if it wasnt for your videos so, thank you. also based okuyasu fan moment hes a special boy
JoJo is such a massive part of my life that it honestly feels a bit silly trying to explain it. It's just some goofy manga about a bunch of characters who do the most absurd shit and I feel like I somehow owe most of the good things in my life to that. I have bonded with my best friends over this series, I have used it to escape reality at times when I can't handle it, I feel like I have grown and become a better person alongside this series. This video was so cathartic for me and I am infinitely thankful for it. Thank you for creating this. I usually feel like I'm alone in a weird way in loving JoJo as much as I do in spite of the fanbase, but to hear that this franchise means as much to someone else as it does to me is rather assuring.
I got into Jojo’s in no small part because of Salty. I’ve been rewatching the anime from the beginning with some of my friends recently, and reading the parts that haven’t been animated yet. I deeply adore this series for so many reasons. JJBA means so much to me, man.
For anyone watching the series; here's a small thing you can do. Watch the opening for the final episode for every season. Barring Season 6, every opening for the final episode(s) include Diagetic, or in-universe, sounds during the intro. This includes the noise of powers activating, people taking steps, etc. It's all so cool
You know, I've never been interested in watching JoJo but I thank it for making you who you are today because you are genuinely my favorite creator on UA-cam. Keep being you Derek.
I got into JoJo for the first time in mid-August 2021. I had zero idea what i was getting into. The only thing I knew about JoJo was the memes and hype in got in 2019 during the Golden Wind anime releases. I had never checked it out until I randomly scrolled to it on Netflix. I had the whole day off and I was like "I'll try something new." At this point I had never gotten deep into any anime series. I finished watching Golden Wind RIGHT when the Stone Ocean trailers were releasing on UA-cam. I decided I would read part 6 in its entirety (first manga I had ever read), and I finished the Made In Heaven arch right when the first anime batch released. I read all of SBR after finishing the Stone Ocean batch 1. I could not have gotten into JoJo at a better time. Everything I did was perfectly timed and to think I would've missed it all if I kept scrolling on Netflix or if I had work that day.
Dude, your original video on Phantom Blood was the final push for me to start watching Jojo, so I can tell that this video is already gonna be god tier entertainment. Edit: Finished the video, and damn, this was a ride of a video. Thank you for posting this, Salty, it was a great video!
Salty, you can add me to the group that you convinced to give JJBA a shot. I've binged the first three parts over the last few weeks and am currently halfway through part four. It's been an amazing trip so far!
I started watching the show a few years ago and wasn't able to get through the 2nd episode of season one, then a few days ago I gave it another chance after watching your part 1 iceberg video and fell in love with the series, also ep 1 of part 2 is my favorite so far just because the ending Johnathon just PULLS OUT A TOMMY GUN FROM HIS POCKET AND STARTS SHOOTING A GUY LIKE WHAT THE FUCK I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCJ
Wow it’s kind of scary how closely your experience with JoJo aligns with mine, even the time frame and finishing part 3 b4 part 4 had been announced and picking up the manga was exactly the same way I did lol
What's more embarrassing: tearing up while talking about jojo, or tearing up listening to someone else talk about jojo? Anyway, I empathize so much with all of your sentiments here. The series has shaped so much of my art, relationships, and who I want to be. It's a very odd thing to realize.
You're not a lone this is gonna sound strange but JoJo and MLP has had such great impacts on my life from the content I've seen especially amazing fan content and memes to just the friends I've made through the shows especially my best friend from back in 2012 whom I'm still very close to
Jojo has such an important place in my life. It helped me with my identity (my name is joseph because of a joke a made about being joseph after joseph joestar and finding out it was a family name) and my art has developed so much, both in style and in the way i cared for it, and just so many pieces of my life were developed in one way or another by jojo. This one goes out to jojos bizarre adventure!!!
Spooky how much my opinions of jojo line up with this, especially part 4 to part 5. The part starts out really strong and then the moment Polnareff shows up it feels like a massive rush to the end, the entire point of the story before that is just dropped and they are told who Diavolo is.
There is Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan which is a one-off with Rohan as a protagonist with some returning characters from part 4, that technically qualifies as the part 4 sequel you wanted somewhat.
I still remember when one day I was chilling with my friends back in 9th grade, then one of my homie says “you guys should watch this anime called jojo I watched yesterday it’s cool I guess” then went on to watch parts 1-4 and caught up to golden wind in like a week, now the og universe is over
Araki actually thought about bringing back dio since the start, dio talked about stealing Jonathan's body and Araki confirmed that originally he only planned the first 3 parts and part 2 was made to have time before dio returned instead of bringing him back immediately
I started phantom blood in late feburary and finished stone ocean late april this year. Overall despite not being into anime i loved this series. I was so sad when it ended i finally read steel ball and finished it recently. I nevee thought i would love this series so much but holy shit its one of my favorite pieces of media now
When I started JJBA, Crunchyroll's web app was wonky. It listed everything from latest to earliest, and all the parts had their own title. So naturally I started with the first in the list, which happened to be Golden Wind episode 1. I was so lost and could not see what people saw in the series. Thank god my coworker corrected me on where to start. Here I am a few years later, caught up on the manga, and an avid consumer of all things Jojo. Honestly I have it to thank for my later-in-life love of anime. What a goddamn great series.
I feel like Giorno has a little less personality than other JoJos, but I did like how as Dio's son he was a lot more unhinged and crossed a lot of lines I couldn't imagine someone like Jotaro or Josuke crossing, he kills people left and right and is a lot more violent and brutal. I love the 5/7 page muda where he does Dio's iconic 'wryyyyyy'.
I relate a lot to you, part 4 for me is peak jojo's and i love it when Araki uses Rohan for spin off, although i wish he'd use some of the other characters as well, and as for part 5, it was pretty good but i didnt like the arcs relating to the requiem arrow, kinda made me get not as interested on the part anymore. JoJo's is awesome, and i don't care how much the fandom gets shitted on (sometimes justified) i'll keep JoJo in my heart and cherish these experiences forever
Your wish was granted haha. Not only do we have Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, BUT right NOW there’s a spin-off Josuke + Hol Horse Gaiden serialization. More Part 4 content yay!
I agree with the statement about Jotaro in Part 4 being what he was always meant to be. When I think of him, I think of Part 4 Self. That is Jotaro, even if he isn't the main character we know and love from part 3. He aged like fine wine and Part 4 Jotaro *IS Jotaro* if that makes sense
My husband then boyfriend got me into jojo back into 2016.....it started with phantom blood I was very hesitant at first to watch it due to resdit and things But he reassured me and we watched it and i have been a fan ever since And my favorite parts are part 5 and 7
I got into Jojo in middle school when my friend kept shoving his phone in my face with the newest episode where Kira kills Shigechi. When I got home he called me and FOCED me to watch the show and it's all been down hill since then
Hope you enjoy part 7 when you come to read it. Also, not sure if you were aware that Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan IS the part 4 spin off you're probably looking for. It's available in manga, anime and live action adaptations which are all great.
5:00 Dude I was in friggin MIDDLE school when One Punch man came out and my friends who thought anime was super fucking weird we’re referencing it it was insane to me (especially since I was just starting to get into anime it blew my mind)
Hmm...yeah, I kinda already knew what to expect from Part 2 & was pretty underwhelmed at the time LMAO. I wonder how different things would've been affected had I not been spoiled, because now I just think a lot about Part 4 & 6 and just obsess over 'em
I had an experience similar to salty. I was lucky it had been along time enough for me to forget the spoilers and just kinda sat there At the credits just kinda in astonishment. part 2 is when my interest really peaked and because it was quarteen this show just became my life. part 3 I was super into stand maybe because I played p4 when Abdull got erased I just kinda sat there like huh he’s coming back right he just died instantly. I got to part 3 final fight and was simply amazed. part 4 was a total change with no end goal at first I didn’t w honestly noticed the colors because it didn’t feel weird and was really hooked when I got to Kira it was kind of weird that they just did nothing with the invisible baby. part 5 I was enthralled king crimson was terrifyingly menacing stand and when i got to ger was super hyped I read the manga later and even though I was spoiled a bit for 6 and 7 I stone ocean final fight was incredible I teared up at the ending. I started reading part 7 and it was just my favorite thing in general Johnny is my favorite joestar and the arc he goes through part 7 is such a wonderful trip from start to end and is my favorite part I got to Jojolion and it was so fun to read my daily volume and i could not predict anything that happened at all and the bitter sweet ending was perfect.
Part 5 really feels like wasted potential to me - Giorno being both Dio and Jonathan's son? Goes nowhere except Jotaro and Koichi are looking for him in the first few chapters and that he goes "Muda" - Diavolo being hyper-secretive and a mob boss? Literally there just so Girono comes across him since he wants to also be mob boss, stand ability doesn't match his personality as well as Dio or Kira's - Gold Experience's life ability? Barely used, GE just becomes a weird version of Crazy Diamond, then becomes THE MOST OP stand in the series as a living UNO Reverse card
"I've become a much more annoying person, but at least I'm happy." Truly the best way of putting it. I'm so annoyingly invested into this series, but damn if I didn't make so many positive memories along the way and experienced so much joy from this series and the fandom.

if you made a podcast just rambling about jojo like this id tune in every single episode
This video is so good especially the ending❤❤❤
I know you don't get many views on the jojo vids but I love them and hope you make more
Could you imagine i almost teared up listening to some random internet guy talking about jojo
It built up over the final batch
When the ending played on the last episode
I cried for the first time in a long while
Everything aside you gotta admit that those pucci stand sounds are nut worthy 😩 /j
What a wonderful world we live in.
Yeah, JoJo's!! So hyped for Part 7, the Part 6 ending made me cry when I saw it beautifully animated
Salty, you should check out Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak, it's a spin off manga of Josuke before he meets Jotaro
You meant to say Hol Horse
the only thing i knew about jojo was giorno’s theme before i watched it and man i had no idea what i was getting into
i was just as confused as you
Oh man yeah Tonio is definitely my favorite part of Part 4’s first third. Mah chef boi so good
Also
"Hey I'm gonna do Part 3 again, but this time, they're all Italian."
THANK YOU
What's more embarrassing: tearing up while talking about jojo, or tearing up listening to someone else talk about jojo?
Anyway, I empathize so much with all of your sentiments here. The series has shaped so much of my art, relationships, and who I want to be.
It's a very odd thing to realize.
im 2 minutes into this video and if its just salty, awake at 5 in the morning, talking for a full hour about jojo, then god that's a fucking mood
I'm pretty sure in many forms of ways we can say that Jojo has changed everyone's life for the better (and worst)
There is Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan which is a one-off with Rohan as a protagonist with some returning characters from part 4, that technically qualifies as the part 4 sequel you wanted somewhat.
I still remember when one day I was chilling with my friends back in 9th grade, then one of my homie says “you guys should watch this anime called jojo I watched yesterday it’s cool I guess” then went on to watch parts 1-4 and caught up to golden wind in like a week, now the og universe is over
I honestly was inspired by you to watch it and yeah, wooooooo im a fan :)
Now this is made for me specifically

The ost after the vanilla ice fight got me, bruh
I can still just remember
"I-...IIIGGYYYYYY"
Rip my boy Avdol and Iggy
I feel like Giorno has a little less personality than other JoJos, but I did like how as Dio's son he was a lot more unhinged and crossed a lot of lines I couldn't imagine someone like Jotaro or Josuke crossing, he kills people left and right and is a lot more violent and brutal. I love the 5/7 page muda where he does Dio's iconic 'wryyyyyy'.
9:00
everyone thought that when they first laid eyes on jojo because their name is all jojo and a generational story is pretty unique
1:00:26 "it feels like a chapter of my life is over"
2019: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Your wish was granted haha. Not only do we have Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, BUT right NOW there’s a spin-off Josuke + Hol Horse Gaiden serialization. More Part 4 content yay!
I just watched the part 8 ending, it was great (I’m from 2032)
If it's anything like the manga then ofc it is.
Now tell me more about part 9 of the manga, future man
I was gonna say part 8s already finished then I realised you said watched not read lol
Well hearing about your opinions on Part 4, what have you thought about Crazy Diamond' s Demonic Heart Break ?
special shoutout to the underworld fight.
Glad my favorite band got adapted so well.
MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT FOR PART 6 AT 56:28 - 57:13
My husband then boyfriend got me into jojo back into 2016.....it started with phantom blood
I was very hesitant at first to watch it due to resdit and things
But he reassured me and we watched it and i have been a fan ever since
And my favorite parts are part 5 and 7
I got into Jojo in middle school when my friend kept shoving his phone in my face with the newest episode where Kira kills Shigechi. When I got home he called me and FOCED me to watch the show and it's all been down hill since then
fr jojo very pog and awesome
Can't wait for SBR and Jojolion
Hope you enjoy part 7 when you come to read it. Also, not sure if you were aware that Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan IS the part 4 spin off you're probably looking for. It's available in manga, anime and live action adaptations which are all great.
5:00 Dude I was in friggin MIDDLE school when One Punch man came out and my friends who thought anime was super fucking weird we’re referencing it it was insane to me (especially since I was just starting to get into anime it blew my mind)
We literally got into Jojos the same way at the same time 💀
bouta listen to this instead of my math teacher
God i love Jojo's
with part 3 being bloated, thats just true, it was intentionally stretched out. still my favorite animated part tbh despite its issues
bro same boat on the similar characters thing. I thought ceaser and dio were the same before i reached battle tendancy
Part 5 really feels like wasted potential to me
- Giorno being both Dio and Jonathan's son? Goes nowhere except Jotaro and Koichi are looking for him in the first few chapters and that he goes "Muda"
- Diavolo being hyper-secretive and a mob boss? Literally there just so Girono comes across him since he wants to also be mob boss, stand ability doesn't match his personality as well as Dio or Kira's
- Gold Experience's life ability? Barely used, GE just becomes a weird version of Crazy Diamond, then becomes THE MOST OP stand in the series as a living UNO Reverse card
Uhh I was spoiled on the crusader deaths and I still cried
I will remember this Salty
I feel like most people got into Jojo through the memes
So there are a few part 4 spin offs one is the Rohan series
There's a one off manga about a ghost with amnesia wakes up in Morioh
Gosh I wish I can sit down with salty and just talk jojo
