One thing I’ve learnt from you is to show my cats and let them smell things- I just realised how much they calm down if they feel like they’re part of the process
That is something I have done with all my cats I have had. They get a good smell of what I have and then they are satisfied... well..OK... except one. If I had crab, no amount of "just smelling" it would stop his demanding some. I learned to save the crab juice and butter for him. If I walked in the door and said "Kitty Crab" , he'd come running out "meow, meow, meow, meow" of where he was wanting some. (Cats's are not dumb). He had his own bowl of "Kitty Crab" juice when I had crab. I diluted it with 50% water. He would drink that till it was all gone, and look for more. I sure miss that little guy.
This channel honestly inspired me to train my cat when I got him. I always make him a little something when I cook for myself- when he was a kitten he used to sit on my shoulder while I cooked and now he sits on top of the fridge/freezer or ontop of the cupboards. He’s so curious about everything. He also used to fall asleep watching UA-cam videos with me and he loves watching these videos with me. I’ll put them on and he’ll jump up, sit on my lap and just watch with me.

My cat tears open a new bag of dry food when no one is looking. We put the dry food in a big plastic box along with his wet food and put it in a container meant for cereal so its easy to pour
Culture plays a big role. We westerners highly value making sure we cater to our pets every needs while many eastern cultures tend to focus more on training them and making them more obedient. Not saying either is better/worse but pets of both cultures seem quite happy

Need to know that the black and white cat (Poki), for the past couple of years, was originally a stray and caused Jun and (mostly) Rachel a lot of trouble, especially around food because he loves it so much. After years of watching Poki, seeing him in this video as a patient audience member instead of a nuisance for the first time is alarmingly contrast but welcoming and lovely.
This dude could open his own restaurant and his cats can greet the guests that're eating there and just show them to an available table :)) That'd be cute.

Need to know that the black and white cat (Poki), for the past couple of years, was originally a stray and caused Jun and (mostly) Rachel a lot of trouble, especially around food because he loves it so much. After years of watching Poki, seeing him in this video as a patient audience member instead of a nuisance for the first time is alarmingly contrast but welcoming and lovely.
