@AbroadinJapan : Time machine with young Chris & Natsuki! Kind of shocking to see so many maskless people. I wonder what kind of COVID protocols are required with these cats these days...I wonder if there is a 3rd station master cat now... A follow up video?
Chris talks so much about this documentary, but it's actually my first time watching it. Ps: Crazy how Chris in his 20s and Natsuki in his 40s look the same age.
I’m glad this video popped up because Chris has spoken about this documentary before and apparently he got some backlash for his comments but but I think he did a great job and it’s a very fun video 😆
❤What a beautiful documentary! 😅 Do you actually have a cat allergy? (I read it on the comments somewhere) And how 😼 ironic that now you have a beautiful fiancée who loves cats😂 and even owns cat themed hostels! ❤ Thank you so much for this masterpiece. I love cats! I live in Neuquén, Patagonia Argentina. There's only one pet friendly café here and there is a female cat there called Misha. I love going there to pet her and because that's the only café with gluten free vegan cakes!❤ I enjoyed this documentary to the fullest. It made my day! 😊Thank you Chris 😺
Brilliant documentary. Still don't understand why he got so many critics. Because he is very respectful, humble and make this documentairy also humoristic. Love to see young Natsuki and Chris together. Beautiful friendship. These critical people must've been sour. Also I am wondering if they drugged the cats in the stroller and the kittens for the photoshoots. Poor babies.
I love the thorough tour of all the various cat places! Such a marvel to see. 💖 Though I don't really appreciate his condescending, microaggressive attitude towards the cultural love for cats. His remarks about how "disturbing", "creepy", and "unsettling" the cat obsession in Japan is. It's actually a very good thing to appreciate the other life forms around us, so Japan is doing a great service by loving these intelligent animals.
Thank you for this documentary ❤. It’s so comprehensive and covers almost all about the Japanese culture which related to cats 🐈. Neko kawaii desu ne 🤩😻
We have cats that work in the U.K too, some that work for the post-office, some that work for railways & theatres, & are there to control mice & rats. There must be some that do that in factories, shops & offices too. I believe there are some that work at dentists & doctors offices to help calm patients. We used to have a cat that worked in our school kitchens at night to keep the rodents out.
Well now I have to visit Japan and go on a cat pilgrimages 😻😻 I think they even have hotels where you have 2 cats sleep in the room with you there! Just wow. All the cats look so cared for 💕💕
Excellent documentary. I will say I would have preferred a host that had more cat-love vibe. The negative words about cats to an audience that probably is watching because they love cats is a bit disheartening. It's not unenjoyable because host is cool. Maybe just not for this subject. There are plenty of other UA-cam personalities who could appreciate ears and paws more. I think it also misses a potential perspective from those who can explore and view it or discovers in a different lens.
I loved seeing the temples and the warm love the people have for cats. It reminds me of my pilgrimage to Fatima, seeing wax figure wishes and candles❤ It is annoying to keep hearing him say everything looks creepy and infantilize people's rituals. I've heard people say the same about Catholic saints and candles...it's sad that he lived in Japan for 5 years and hasn't been more open towards the culture.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year of love for sharing smart tips and give the invisible cyber audience the chance to get inspired for new partnerships and new ways to help ourselves each other, cat-cure is amusing indeed, the most relaxing entertainment for the end of the year. ..fans are here to support such UA-cam channels and encourage you never give up being such good observers, we need to pay attention all the time, yeah, you can bet on it guys ❤🎉❤
This is one of my new FAVORITE cat documentaries. I am glad I stumbled on to this, I really do like UA-camr Chris and his personality, this was a fun film, made me smile a lot. Another great addition to my Playlist collection that is proving that we are the victims of world domination by a bunch of furry four legged cute creatures who we naturally just cater too the minute they mew! Imma Cat Servant, however, I believe that I'm not the only one, everyone who "lives with" a cat or cats IS. I have come to the conclusion that the world is being taken over by cats and are born indentured into servitude with the knowledge we are to jump when we hear a cat MEW!🤨
Hmmm... The tour might have been better presented by someone who actually likes cats. A cat lover wouldn't likely call a large display of maneki neko (waving cats which represent good fortune) as kinda "creepy". Or lack appreciation for a cat cafe's way of identifying them.
You can tell Chris is not a cat-lover, he called a calico cat "he", he doesn't know how to interact with cats, he startled the cat by touching the top of its tail, and then blaming the cat that it doesn't like people 🤣
This documentary needs a kind and humble host, this one has only negative opinion: "this is weird" "that is ridiculus"... if he doesnt like cats, why do this job??
My cats are my immediate family . And they ARE MY joy and peace of mind!!!even when they're slapping the shit out of each other. Pecking order you know!?
This host is constantly mocking the culture of Japan. 10 minutes into this mockery of a documentary, I had to turn it off. Don't talk about cats and the Japanese in such a condescending way, don't make a documentary when all you did was bash the people who love cats unconditionally. He obviously hated bring there, super bad choice of a host by this media company.
I checked the comments after 6 minutes to see if I was the only one who felt like this, definitely would have preferred a more respectful and cat-loving host for such an interesting topic
It seems kind of rude to refer to their dance as “ridiculous” or other things as “can’t take it seriously”. He is a guest in their land and it comes across as not only condescending, but unappreciative. I think their culture is charming and delightful.
Expected fewer condescending comments from someone who lived for five years in Japan at the time of filming. It kind of ruined the fun and informative parts for me, and had to stop about halfway through. Thanks for trying to present your viewpoint though.
Who's this handsome presenter with a questionable taste in clothing and poorly concealed cat allergy?
A young Chris appears!
hello there Chris! .. you now have your very own cats!!! 🐈🐈🐈
I paid for this a few years ago (amazon). Happy it's free though now!! 🎉
I knew it was you! Lol
@AbroadinJapan : Time machine with young Chris & Natsuki! Kind of shocking to see so many maskless people. I wonder what kind of COVID protocols are required with these cats these days...I wonder if there is a 3rd station master cat now... A follow up video?
The absolute shock of unexpectedly hearing Chris’ voice is unparalleled
😻I love cats and visiting Japan is tops on my bucket list! 😸😺🐈
Unlike Istanbul, you will barely find stray cats outside that cat island and cat cafe
Came here because of Chris from abroad in japan😁👍
Cats really rule the world... Humans think they do... 😂
I love Japan - so quirky and charming.🐱😍
I love this documentary. Thank you so much for uploading this!
This was a very enjoyable video. I am a servant to three cats and love all the different types, sizes, and colors.
I'm always amazed by the trust and personality the Japanese bring out in their cats. Thanks for the informative video.
Aww, look at baby Chris and Natsuki! 🤩
Thanks for filming this! One of the best documentaries ever!
Legend has it, this is the film that Sharla watched when she fell in Love with Chris...
🐈Cats, the answer to everyone's prayers! 😺 😸 😽

Chris: gets random book -
Book: oppai no himitsu -
Chris: d-don't know what that is **hastly puts book back**
Istanbul: I'd like to have a word with you
I love the cat train..cute concept. Id love to ride on that one. ❤❤❤
We have a feral cat that comes around. We call him hood kitty. He's straight gansta.
Oh my I am just LOVING this documentary
Nice to see a young Chris and Natsuki!

My granddaughter would love at your house especially vegan restaurant…..,
Gluten free too!

Beautiful friendship.

I love Chris is a cat dad now
Marvellous documentary 😻😻😻😻😻😻

Indeed, he's very irritating
Yeah, I was thinking the same. I would have liked to watch it from a cat-lover perspective.
Thank you for this documentary ❤. It’s so comprehensive and covers almost all about the Japanese culture which related to cats 🐈. Neko kawaii desu ne 🤩😻
When he picks up the book at 19:53 "don't know what that is, pff" 😂
Istanbul: Am I a joke to you?
I just got to the chapter on Cat Nation in Chris Abroad’s book! Looking forward to reading this chapter while having this on in the background 🐈⬛ 📖
Love it! And a really young Chris and and Natsuki.
Definitely a civilized country...... 🥰🥰🥰👍👍✌️🇨🇦
I agree 👍
There's a cat at the Stevenage train station in the UK. He sits on the ticket gate every morning. 😉😄😍

Goddamn, you really captured the Chris Broad big brit energy🤣🤣🤣

Lovely documentary, thanks but I have to get something of my chest. Three-quarter pants and socks is a big no no no, even in Japan.😃
I don't think i ever had so much fun watching a documentary before, i love cats!
even when you don't want to watch a chris video, somehow he shows up on a random algorithm cat video...
I don't know him but I didn't like him lol
Very enlightening 🐱

Chris is a player. There isn’t one person that doesn’t know about his conquest this guy is “Sir Shag a lot”
Istanbul cat videos are fun to watch. Turkey loves cats
Loved this!
I loved hanging out with the cats at fushimi inari in kyoto at night
So much good potential here, but the snarky condescension, noblesse oblige, and lack of cultural awareness coming from the host are a real turnoff.
I'm pretty sure Chris scribbled his email address on the ping pong racket and prayed to the cheeky monkey surrounded by saluting cat that day.
The only thing creepy,is someone who thinks it's creepy
I remember paying for this just to watch it. Good times!
Wow, I never knew of this film until now and that's weird given how much I love cats and Japan. Amazing film though!
❤I love cats. Awesome cats

He lives with two cats now 🎉
I find it amazing the cats dont jump out of the pram and run off? I was nervous ❤ watching, scared they might go into the traffic?! Amazing though
I suspect they're sedated. They look way too dopey.
They are on leash, you can see it ;)
Definitely!
This was pretty good why does chris hates it so much.
It's a dream place to go 😮
I love cats and I enjoyed seeing cats going about their business suddenly it got bizarre and I can't watch it anymore
I live in AustraliA, love cats thou not allowed to keep in my place. Thnq for this, I loved this, had relaxing time while watching
11:18 That cat could've been controversial had its moustache been shorter 😅
Very good videos. Thank you!
"Cheeky baaastaaad."
-This guy at some point, probably.
What an affable host, I hope he continues to make more Cat centric content!
Omg this is hilarious 🤣 lol
have you seen the Giant 3D Cat on Billboard in Shinjuku - Tokyo Japan
I definitely wanna visit here. I would end up taking one of the black cats i see 😂 i love their culture and their love for cats
You can tell Chris is not a cat-lover, he called a calico cat "he", he doesn't know how to interact with cats, he startled the cat by touching the top of its tail, and then blaming the cat that it doesn't like people 🤣
The best Cat documentary😂
Guess you've never been to Turkey and especially to Istanbul.
Then you'd see what a true city of cats means.
aww,a cat lover,i love u already
I need to see Chris back at the cat island, but this time with Sharla! 😁
This documentary needs a kind and humble host, this one has only negative opinion: "this is weird" "that is ridiculus"... if he doesnt like cats, why do this job??
You’d get an immunity boost at a cat cafe, that’s for sure.
Love this somuchlovecats
is there any city in Japan for tiger?
My cats are my immediate family
. And they ARE MY joy and peace of mind!!!even when they're slapping the shit out of each other. Pecking order you know!?
The man doing the video doesn't like cats. Had to stop watching.
Cats❤❤❤

Anyone else here after reading Abroad in Japan?
How on earth does this person get all of these cats to stay in one position?
Cats everywhere you must of dreamt every night about cats lol 😂
neat! love it
Why are Asians so in love with cats? Not an accusation, just a question. 😆❤️
It's sweet.
This is over 8 years old 😊
Saya suka dokumentar ini 🎉
Creepy? No: Sweet !

Here we go, the last samurai syndrome
yes, he keeps calling it creepy and uses words like cult and madness .
After reading Chris' book. I had to come find this video to see the comments hahaha. He even said himself he thought he came across as a dick.
It seems kind of rude to refer to their dance as “ridiculous” or other things as “can’t take it seriously”. He is a guest in their land and it comes across as not only condescending, but unappreciative. I think their culture is charming and delightful.
Nutsu is so cool!!!!! 5:42
Well, Sharla came with 2 cats included, I think the temple worked!
Expected fewer condescending comments from someone who lived for five years in Japan at the time of filming. It kind of ruined the fun and informative parts for me, and had to stop about halfway through. Thanks for trying to present your viewpoint though.
A pile of rugs! Look for the eye!
