Thanks for watching! Do you have a high-energy puppy? 🤪 Which one of these games will you try first?
Frankie is my 1 y/o Chihuahua who has as much energy as 10 cans
of Red Bull mixed with coffee combined!
I give him some off-leash playtime after his walk in the park
as well as giving him a ton of physical affection which really
seems to help calm him down a lot and help alleviate any stress. 👍
That's a LOT of energy! 😂 Hopefully you can use some tips in this video to help him settle!
My 9 month mini schnauzer knows several of his toys: ducky, piggy, ball, and stretchy pup. His favorite is his ducky because it makes loud noises and he likes to howl along. Very fun for him, pretty irritating fot humans. He has no off switch, so I take him to doggy day camp 1 or 2 days a week. Gives me some downtime snd him some really energetic but supervised play.
Hopefully this video gave you some other good tips on finding his "off" switch!
Love these ideas. My middle pup loves playing find it. He knows 6 toys, and growing. My puppy 3 months is learning and has mastered one toy, and working on a second. My eldest 6 yo, looks at me like you go get it. LOL.
These are the best, I use them at home to calm down and at the park for calmness and focus.
Helped my middle child with his anxiety and previous living situation. He's no longer as anxious and I am excited.
This sounds great!!!
5:40 Mental Game

Thank you so much for your videos, I have learned so much to help me with my 6 month old pitbull
We are so happy they have helped you! I bet your pittie would love the toy name game!
I have a 9 week old GSD little ball of energy! Thank you for the tips

My 4 month puppy only energetic at home lol so calm at outside…😂😂😂
He or she might be a little busy outside taking in all the smells and new sounds!
My 5 mo puppy is super crazy in the house and so chill outside!🤷♀️

Thank you for another great video. I really love this video since you give some great advice for a first time dog owner and puppies. Gigi, my 2 year old goldendoodle, loves this game. So far, she knows “ball” since tennis balls are her favorite toys. She has KONG balls too, so what do you recommend we call them to be different from her tennis balls (“ball”)? She also has more than one “bone”. Gigi’s other toys are distinct like “Penguin” and “Elf”. We would like to get Gigi to bring us her leash and harness for walks and car rides, but now it makes sense why she would just run over to the leashes and harnesses. She has more than one leash and harness. 😊💕🐶
We love that you're playing this game with Gigi. You can name the Kong ball something different, like "pete" or even two words like "kong ball". The word doesn't matter, Gigi will learn it as long as you're consistent!
@@HowToTrainADreamDog, thank you! That’s a great idea since Gigi has many KONG toys and bones. 🐶💕
I have a new 10 week English staffy and baby girl goes to tazmanian devil so fast :/ it’s been 2 weeks and hoping to get a better structure for managing her energy and rest balance soon !! She is still working through crate training and impulse control so I hope your tips and channel can help me as she awaits full vaccination.
Yes, we have a lot of great videos about how to tire out a dog. There's also some important exposure you'll need to do with her even before she finishes her shots. Here's a video on that: ua-cam.com/video/a4OT5WZZSYM/v-deo.html
And if you need help developing a schedule for her to help her sleep well but also include all the enrichment her brain needs, check out this option for you: courses.howtotrainadreamdog.com/puppy-schedule-mini-course
I always did this with my ABD. I would bet my bf that she could pick any toy by name out of her toy bin. She passed in February. We have a Cane Corso puppy now. She just turned 8mo. I love to take her kibble, about a 1/4 c and hide pieces all throughout the house. She loves the sniffing and mental stimulation. It's a easy thing that takes some puppy energy out.
That sounds fantastic! I bet your pup loves it!
I have 2 dogs that are a year apart in age. I don’t know what I am doing when trying to train them both. I know I have better success with 1 at a time but when they are together it is chaos.
That's really common for dogs. It will take more repetition - alone - before they can do the skill when around each other. Dogs are big distractions for each other!
I have a maltese mini I have her one week she is 8 weeks old and they told me I shouldn't be playing with her so much because she is so small and can hurt herself, but sometimes she gets wild and bites me playing, should I play with her or not? she is not fully vaccined yet so she is mostly at home with me
It's definitely fine to play, but it's important to do it gently, and also make sure that she's getting plenty of rest. She needs 18 - 20 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period so make sure she is getting that. If she's getting wild and biting it usually means she needs a nap! This video can help you: ua-cam.com/video/DoRDuTxQTHo/v-deo.html
An athletic Bichon frise 😅😅😅😅 vet actually said he was like an athlete... Hahaha I wrote this before you said don't turn him into a super athlete!!!!!
He loves playing and mostly - being chased!!!
We do tricks. Round. High fives . Jump. Yes. Lie down . Saying prayers. Lie down .stand .
Sounds like he's learning a lot of great skills! Be sure to give him lots of time to cool down from all that hard work!
