I was inside a double cage in Birmingham and checking out a mountain lion and a black panther. All was fine but suddenly the mountain lion grabbed my hand in its mouth and stared at me. The handler said not to pull or it would clamp down hard. I did as it said and after a a short moment the cat let go of my hand. The black panther rolled over ( separate cages) on its back like a house cat. I was told it was ok to pat its shoulders and a few other spots but definitely leave its stomach off limits or it could get bad. The visit was scary, satisfying and memorable, reminiscent of my childhood in the Everglades, Pahokee and Canal Point, Florida. I’ve had amazing interactions with numerous members of our wildlife. ❤️🙏
