I agree The 5 series is the best BMW of all IMO best overall combination of smaller and larger cars. Do you think the New Range will take big margin from S class especially when they come out with 60 miles EV range Plug In. they are both good car and I would wouldn't mind being chauffeured in either S class or New Range Rover. Definitely I would prefer to Drive the Range Rover. Also I would get the EQS if choice was available why go for the Combustion engine. I would prefer 530E with more than 50 miles range otherwise just get electric Etron saloon or Taycan. I am glad BMW has returned to their design language. Once I went Electric its really difficult to go back to the combustion car unless its plug in with 50-70 miles range. I would like to see how the new iX1 looks even with a limitation of 66 kW battery. if it does actually do 270 miles combined projected.

@@sajithsaji3606 in my experience, the rear seats are plenty comfortable, you have plenty headroom, and plenty shoulder width for 2 people. Combined with adaptive suspension, the ride in the back is very comfortable and nothing to complain about. Also the doors, the door armrest and the centre armrest is all soft (i have the full leather option). Also there is a dual-zone climate control in the back, with vents in the middle console and vents at the B-pillar in the car. The headrest is a bit firmer though compared to the plush front seats. There is plenty legroom as well, even if the front seat is set back quite a bit, there should be enough legroom comfort. I usually sit more back with my drivers-seat and havent had any complaints from my passengers, even when i asked if they have enough space. Windows in the rear are nicely square-ish, so the view is good. But the view forward is a bit less, since the front seats have a bit bulky headrests, so its a bit more difficult to look thru the forward windshield, but most executive cars have this also. I hope this gives you the info you are looking for. i always recommend to go to your local dealer and try-out the seats for yourself and bring a family member or a friend as well to try it out.
Mercedes loses out because of the flimsy touch screens and fakery. What a shame. I'm thinking of a BMW 3-series now, as the more sensible version of a 5-series. But their sound system is just horribly bad until you get the Harman Kardon system; and in my country that's very, very rare.
As of lately the German premium brands have suffered from questionable reliability. They also come with the big downside that basically everything is an option and costs you extra (as in an extra couple thousand). From that point of view, if you want a luxury sedan experience without feeling that you are being taken for a ride (pun intended), go for the Lexus. As a motorhead it pains me to say this but unfortunately at the moment it's true.

E Class front lights look too small, grill is all messed up, presumably to suit the Chinese market, digital dash just isn’t as elegant as traditional dials, externally not sufficiently distinguished from other MB models, fake exhausts just need to stop. Designing a car for new markets is fine, provided you don’t alienate your traditional client base.
Personally love the a6, for smaller I like the 3 series and larger I like S class. For midsize I liked the a6 best, the interior was nicest but I’m 6’4” so the Mercedes seat didn’t go far enough down to give me enough headroom. The BMW interior tech felt very dated and more plasticky feeling/looking interior compared to the other two. Audi’s interior was nicest with fitting all 3 screens into the cars dash cleanly leaving no cheap plastic screen edges, giving it the best fit and finish. I liked driving both the 5 series and a6 with sport suspension, the e class with sport suspension was still a bit softer along with having less responsive steering.
I've had them all. The German cars give you that priceless pride on the road. They have the history and the pedigree and the presence. But I still would pick the Lexus. If the badge is not a big deal for you, the Lexus offers the most silky smooth luxurious ride, great reliability, and the least depreciation among all of them. Btw, I didn't bother to watch the Lexus review here. I already know it's going to be bad, if you know what I mean 😄
Our Lexus was bought as a daily driver, definitely reliable, but both my wife and myself hate driving it. The suspension is too wobbly, we feel sea sick in it for long drives, way too soft of a suspension with very poor handling. It’s an 2021 RX350. I love my a6, my wife would rather drive the LR Discovery HSE, much larger but it’s air suspension stiffens up on the highway for a more stable ride on the highway. Both also have a lot quicker pick up over the Lexus. The Lexus is not a drivers car but definitely a reliable car. And forget it’s tech or screen or dash it’s all very dated compared to the others.

You want personal touch. Want to see some ideas. Some concept. Want to see some work done for you. Next step is to say Bugatti interior is unnecessary))
For an even better comparison it would be very nice if the same sections of the videos (for example maybe show all three door closing sounds etc.) would be cut directly after each other. But i could image that it would take a lot more time and effort…

Reliability? Haha, every toyota sucks after 2015, there is no more that famous reliability. Please wake up, it’s bot 90s anymore If you have 3,5 prtrol after 2015 there is the only light in the dark tunnel that has left from that famous toyota, but this engine is the only one to show off
I'm really put off by how desperately they're trying to make the E-class more "sporty", hands down the pre-facelift looked miles better, especially with the exclusive package, a proper elegant sedan. Also curious the fact you have an estate with the exclusive package, it seems like I could configure only the sedan with that package on the online configurator. The standard steering wheel has a very elegant design, I have no idea why would anybody choose the AMG one, it looks like a punch in the eyes, even more in the S-class.
Thomas thank you. Fantastic review. Yes, the SUV seating position is winning, and these dinos have no future. Ourselves, we still have Ford Galaxies or VW Sharans MPVs - the best in practicality, seating position, space, efficiency and maintenance. However and sadly, office people still prefer to compensate their uselessness by fast and shiny toys. So let's them pay for that!)
I agree with your choice. The 5 series is the best looking and best overall car here. E-class and A6 have extremely boring exterior. And the Lexus? Meh, it's a Lexus.
Fantastic video as always! AutotopNL says the 520D is quite on par with the 6 cylinders. Just ordered one in phytonic blue with cognac sensatec, beige becomes dirty very quickly. BMW is the most fun to drive yet very comfortable, i think it is more personal than the Audi. Unfortunately the next version will be more tablet and less car... I'm curious about Genesis then.
Wy dont you say anything about phones... How and witch works... One only sees iPhone ?... The same with stereos... How many watts? ... How many speakers? Can they handle CD s... ? But endless comments about obvious design matters that is visible... Focus...
E-class for me but make it look like a proper Mercedes again with a star on the bonnet. Stop trying to copy bmw when it comes to sportiness. Mercedes is about comfort
@@autogefuehl Ruthless but true. If you're objectively measuring on specification, then the Jaguars are becoming dated all over again as their 'technology features' spec clearly do not have a dedicated team behind it. It's just check-boxes they tick on the briefing portfolio for parts from over 5 years ago.
E-class way out in front of the other boring and lazy designed cars. The Sensual-Purity interior especially is so iconic, they literally were too scared to even touch it from the previous car and instead totally messed up the steering wheel but the Big Businessmen still like it!! Just goes to show.
Question: Looking for a car for 100.000km per year. Only business. 95% highway (50% Netherlands and 50% Germany). I want silence and comfort. Not interested in "sharp handling". E, 5 or A6 ? THX for your input! THX for this nice review.
Should have compared es300h ultra luxury, also all es300h trims does not offer adaptive suspension, it is only available in es350 fsport as an optional pkg.
All of these cars are great, depends how much money you want to spend. E-class is beautiful and has one of the best design/technology, but interrior quality is terrible. BMW is a sporty option, great build quality but design is uninspiring. Audi seems to be in the middle - up to date design, great build quality and good ride. Lexus has even better build quality, but you have limited options and only 1 engine in EU. If I was looking for economical option in 520d/E220d/Audi whatever confusing number (previous 2.0TDi) area I would pick the Lexus ES. On the other hand If I wanted more performance Id go for S7/RS7 - super badass cars. That said its super shame thats S4/S6/S7 are now diesels in EU! And use fake exhausts... S5 used to be my go-to semi affordable coupe, but now C43/M440i are just a better option.
The more I watch these videos, the more I love the bargain that is my F30 335i with m sport suspension and technology package. Red with red interior is amazing. I love the newer stuff, however my F30 does everything I need in a daily driver and it's fun to drive. Most people think it's new (great job by the design team) Women also love it too.
Hardly. They may not be practical for those that cannot afford it, but for those that can, they provide luxury, comfort, superior ride quality and power in one package that smaller cars cannot.
Wow, a Michener novel version of a car review, thank you. I agree, the 5 series is the best looking outside (especially the side view!). I feel the Audi has the best interior. I do worry about the reliability of the German cars over the long haul now. I keep my cars until their bones decay (my last I owned for 27 years - was perfect until the frame rusted - Toyota 4Runner, and before that I drove a 1977 Mercedes 450 SL until it was 24 years old, also perfect, it did not ever die - it is probably still running fine). I can't answer your question, which sedan would I choose, but I lean toward the Audi.

If you have 3,5 prtrol after 2015 there is the only light in the dark tunnel that has left from that famous toyota, but this engine is the only one to show off
In terms of how the car look, BMW is definitely a Champion! Merdeces looks like a crap!
Audi and BMW , it would be hard to decide which one to get .
Very informative. Thanks for making this comparative analysis for us.
thanks for tuning in !
Great work 👌🏻
No Genesis G80?
E class for me
Thomas thank you.
The lexus gives comfort yet reliable......
i don't know why lexus making the vehicles so narrow, they are American company. maybe they should produce cars like they produce in USA.
Please: A3 Vs new 3-series Vs C-class vs DS-5 vs something like a KIA. I'll bet the Kia won't do that bad.
A3 is not in the same class
I agree with your choice. The 5 series is the best looking and best overall car here. E-class and A6 have extremely boring exterior. And the Lexus? Meh, it's a Lexus.
Fantastic video as always! AutotopNL says the 520D is quite on par with the 6 cylinders. Just ordered one in phytonic blue with cognac sensatec, beige becomes dirty very quickly. BMW is the most fun to drive yet very comfortable, i think it is more personal than the Audi. Unfortunately the next version will be more tablet and less car... I'm curious about Genesis then.
Thanks 🙏
Maybe in terms of torque; it's immensely behind on power... and even in terms of torque the B48 makes the same and it's a petrol engine
BMW5系列才是王者👑
Wy dont you say anything about phones... How and witch works... One only sees iPhone ?... The same with stereos... How many watts? ... How many speakers? Can they handle CD s... ? But endless comments about obvious design matters that is visible... Focus...
Audi a6 for me
Mercedes is always my choice
E-class for me but make it look like a proper Mercedes again with a star on the bonnet. Stop trying to copy bmw when it comes to sportiness. Mercedes is about comfort
The winner is no doubt MB bc is the newest, Lexus pretty primitive tech.. where is jaguar? 😳
Jaguar cannot keep up anymore sadly. I love the brand, but their current products do not match these here
@@autogefuehl Ruthless but true. If you're objectively measuring on specification, then the Jaguars are becoming dated all over again as their 'technology features' spec clearly do not have a dedicated team behind it. It's just check-boxes they tick on the briefing portfolio for parts from over 5 years ago.
As always number one is Autogefuhl and Lexus is king 👑
E-class way out in front of the other boring and lazy designed cars.
The Sensual-Purity interior especially is so iconic, they literally were too scared to even touch it from the previous car and instead totally messed up the steering wheel but the Big Businessmen still like it!! Just goes to show.
Mercedes e-series is the best for me.
That all terrain e-class looks just so wrong with the sporty 20" wheels.. It's like buying that 6x6 G wagon to only drive from A to B on the autobahn.
Question: Looking for a car for 100.000km per year. Only business. 95% highway (50% Netherlands and 50% Germany). I want silence and comfort.
Not interested in "sharp handling". E, 5 or A6 ? THX for your input!
THX for this nice review.
Thanks! Watched it all ? :)
@@autogefuehl YEP. Guessing you would point to the A6 (diesel)...."serenity".
Have a 2020 320D. Perfect, were it not for the M package. Too rough.
they re all nice indeed. Check good offers / prices
BMW 5 series is the best for me
Should have compared es300h ultra luxury, also all es300h trims does not offer adaptive suspension, it is only available in es350 fsport as an optional pkg.
Everyone is ready to face with oil and coolant leakage? Then go for German cars.
Thanks for the feedback!
The 5 series gives you a very poor andurance comparing with Mercedes
😂😂😂 Benz on last place, what propaganda is doing
No propaganda at all. Test of the new generations: ua-cam.com/video/Y3clrAg_7gM/v-deo.htmlsi=evicdV5LVZeg48Yt
I have a G20 and I'm already looking at a G30 540i or an F10 M5
A dying breed nowadays these long low classic sedans.
They look nice.
But too expensive and not practical enough.
Hardly. They may not be practical for those that cannot afford it, but for those that can, they provide luxury, comfort, superior ride quality and power in one package that smaller cars cannot.
Lol what?? They're everywhere forever here in the UK 😄
The E-class is so overused, they must have outsold the Mini-cooper y now lol!
I can't answer your question, which sedan would I choose, but I lean toward the Audi.
most welcome!
How about G80
ya we could also have included this one, got a review here: ua-cam.com/video/y8SjcnXLTKA/v-deo.html
BMW next gen ID8 just matches W213's interior design.
Mercedes Benz: Real Madrid!
BMW: FC Barcelona!
Audi: Bayern Munich!
BMW = Bayern München - Mercedes Benz =VFB Stuttgart- Audi = Fc Ingolstadt
@@pappiricki umm are we talking domestic or?
Lexus is the weak one of the bunch. A nice car but weak.
Ah, I see they went for the pornographic steering wheel pack (+1945€) on the E-klasse
😂
Must have compared on Lexus GS350 ok! Crazy why brought es350 here
That’s the one we get in Germany
OH YES DER THOMAS
=)
Overall the E class is a better experience for me.
"Something is always beeping somewhere" got me😋
😅
A6 😅
With cvts let go of the accelerator and quickly press it again so it immediately changes its ratio
the fake wood trim is really cringe
E-class 300e for a full 100%
Audi and Mercedes !!! Never BMW!!!
