Audi I would lease... The Lexus I would buy. If your one of those people that get a new car every three to four years, lease the Audi. If you keep cars for five or more years buy the Lexus.
I don't know about A6; but has been in the market for E Class. Always loved Mercedes. Test drove 4 different E Classes. Then test drove an ES, and it completely changed my horizon. Ended up ordering one. Can't be happier. I'm not even talking about reliability. The refinement of Lexus is second to none. So comfortable, smooth, and quiet. I don't care about performance, but it's fast too; in fact, the hybrid one is very fast and responsive. Fuel economy: 5.4 litres per 100 km for combined driving in over 850 km.

It definitely would be - I've previously driven the new Toyota Crown (now based on the new TNGA-L platform) that a new GS would likely be based on like previous models, and if they do come out with a new one and it's anything like the Crown, it'd be a fantastic machine that would certainly give the A6 even more of a run for its money.

I’m seriously considering Lexus ES (you guessed right, 5 years in, Audi is in and out mechanic’s garage!) but I love what’s said on your website - driving Audi worth every dollar!!!!
This is a great video. I was in the market for a new car in 2019 and these were the exact two cars I was debating between. I LOVE both cars for different reasons, and you honestly cannot go wrong with either cars in my opinion. It really depends on what type of driver you are. Are you into smooth comfort subtle cruising. Or are you into a driving dynamics, acceleration, and handling. Don’t get me wrong, the A6 is still a very smooth and comfortable drive, but not as “pillowy” as the Lexus. At the end of the day, I chose the Audi A6 Prestige due to the AWD drivetrain, better torque and handling (I got the 55 TFSI 3.0L Turbo- not the 45 TFSI shown here), and MUCH better technology: safety system, auto dynamic radar cruise, BSM, Lane tracing, etc. For those not sure how good the Audi technology is (automation, safety, radar, and HD camera systems), I highly recommend test driving both cars. You will see the difference. And yeah, I am aware that there was a $18k (US) price difference in the cars (Lexus ES Ultra Lux vs Audi A6 Prestige) ... so not really a fair comparison if money is a factor. Lastly, for what it’s worth. I will consider buying a Lexus, but I will never buy an Audi due to reliability. I purposely leased the Audi bc of fears of reliability, as well as maintenance cost out of warranty.
I'm glad to hear you're enjoying you're happy with your decision to go for the A6 - speaking from experience, the 55 TFSI is definitely the one to go for if you're after performance as it's a great engine. I think I mentioned in response to another comment that realistically, most people are leasing these cars rather than buying them, and so reliability isn't as big a concern for those only hanging onto it for a few years. Of course, the Lexus would definitely be the one to buy and live with long term, but objectively, the Audi is the better car at the end of the day. I think you are forgetting a major point in this comparison. The real thing a Lexus shines for is their reliability. Which for some reason ALOT of reviewers tend to forget (or do it on purpose really). You can drive a Lexus for 20 years without any issues, with amazing resale values. whereas a german made car would have to go through several fixes, faults and other issues in just 5 years. Can the germans really compete with Lexus? - worse engine (downsized, still not efficient) - worse transmission (unreliable af) - still costs more because fancy bling bling interior Not being able to put a efficient, affordable and reliable hybrid on the road, 23 years after Toyota already did.... No they cant compete with Lexus. But sadly everyone needs 0-60 times and more and bigger Turbos in their Life
Can Lexus really compete with Germans? The Germans in general: - Way more powerful engines (turbos, Electric assist, some even with counter phase steering to give you the best driving experience possible.) - Mostly have DCT's and are built with performance in mind when you want it, or comfort ( BMW even lets you choose the speed of the shifts) - Luxurious interior with the most latest technology available in cars. Pretty much incorporates all the technology available. Constantly updated with the latest technologies each year. These German cars are premium luxury / performance cars, intended for people who can afford it. It is not for people looking for affordability, reliability, resale value, fuel economy etc. If you are, then get a used Corolla or something .. just an appliance to get from A to B. Looking for all these in a premium luxury/performance car, is foolish.🤷 So yeah, unless Lexus incorporates all these traits that the wealthy seek, it'll never be close to the Germans in luxury/performance.

Prefer the Audi A6’s ride quality. Softer doesn’t always mean better. If you drive/ride for long hours, it can get tiring like an Adidas Ultraboost which is too squishy not suitable for All day comfort. A6’s bit firmer ride is more BALANCED.
The Audi has that basic VW look to it you know. You sound biased towards the Audi in your analysis, I would say. Apparently you already liked the A6 before you went out on a “test drive” of the 2 vehicles.
Style is subjective. Definitely not biased one way or the other about this test either - I spent a week with each of the vehicles tested here going into both with an open mind and putting around 800km on each before arriving at the conclusion I did. The whole point of this comparison was to see if the ES could truly give the A6 a run for its money now that Lexus is positioning it against it, and the truth is that it did - it's just that the Audi is good enough to justify the price premium it has over the Lexus.
Audi is my pick..feels more luxurious sportier more comfortable with more bells and vistles and more upto date technology with safety... that lexus is basically a upscaled Toyota that is just good at lasting for years cause of using old mechanics that are 15+ years old

what good is all that tech in the audi when the car will be up on a rack half the time being serviced for some bs. it comes down to reliability for me. LEXUS
I’d NEVER get an Audi, they are too BLAND. I’d always consider a BMW or a benz, and if I don’t want the headcahe and I want a nice reliable car that won’t lose value and will give me comfort for a decade I’d pick a Lexus

Lexus is still stubborn to drop the price. I was shocked to see the prices when I seen beautiful used Cadillac ATS 2014 cost 7k with 100k miles. But used Lexus 2014 cost 14k or more with 100k miles. Only Lexus price will never drop.
All the people here writing about reliability have only read some internet myths and never really touched an Audi. 2014 A6 with well over 600 000km and runs just like the way it did from the dealership.
That's just because the engine wasn't running but the car was in ignition. Look closely at some of the clips of the Lexus and you'll see it has it on as well.
Both the interior and exterior of the Audi are nicer. My choice would be the E-Class or the 5 Series, but if I was gonna spend less I would go with A6. Apart from better reliability the Audi is much more superior in styling, luxury and power. Lexus is for those who want a higher quality alternative to Toyota.
I don't think the Audi has a better interior design and.quality. Yes it has a better instrument cluster panel but.that's why the.price is so high. The test of the Lexus interior is better than the.Audi for me with the doors of.the Audi looking like older models. It's just the screens saving the Audi and that's a fact
There is no question that Audi is nicer. If I was rich Id get both, Audi for weekends and lexus for mon to Friday because sadly Audi once reaches 90,000kms the issues will come up. and lexus you NEVER DIES! toyota engined. Lexus you will drive up to 350,000kms zero issues at all.

But sadly everyone needs 0-60 times and more and bigger Turbos in their Life
Can Lexus really compete with Germans? The Germans in general:
- Way more powerful engines (turbos, Electric assist, some even with counter phase steering to give you the best driving experience possible.)
- Mostly have DCT's and are built with performance in mind when you want it, or comfort ( BMW even lets you choose the speed of the shifts)
- Luxurious interior with the most latest technology available in cars.
Looking for all these in a premium luxury/performance car, is foolish.🤷
So yeah, unless Lexus incorporates all these traits that the wealthy seek, it'll never be close to the Germans in luxury/performance.
@@anoop4243 Awesome Reply👍👍👍
And btw reliability depends on how u maintain your car, even a rolls royce can last you long if u maintain and service ir properly at proper times!!!
@@anoop4243 boy German cars are trash but that’s my opinion
@@datnigga7445 you don’t know anything about car , just admit you can’t afford it and have peace of mind
Lexus by far the better of the two.
Not even close
I prefer the Lexus. I have owned 3 Lexus and my 4th is going to be Lexus again
Was the MPG even mentioned, because the ES is more than 10 mpg more than the Audi.
I love ES~
My mechanic told me if i get a Lexus he will not be seeing me often.... lol...
Prefer the Audi A6’s ride quality. Softer doesn’t always mean better. If you drive/ride for long hours, it can get tiring like an Adidas Ultraboost which is too squishy not suitable for All day comfort. A6’s bit firmer ride is more BALANCED.
Lexus ES ✅
The Lexus wood isn’t fake.
See which one is still running 10 years later, and how much it has cost in maintenance. No question the Lexus will win.
Then lexus is basically a upscaled version of Toyota
I agree. I would say in the future, if you don’t want your view to be perceived as biased, just state the facts.
Audi is my pick..feels more luxurious sportier more comfortable with more bells and vistles and more upto date technology with safety... that lexus is basically a upscaled Toyota that is just good at lasting for years cause of using old mechanics that are 15+ years old
Jesus, you people know nothing about cars! Audi is an upscale Volkswagen !
@@storyofmylife7080 jeez ...its you who don't know anything about cars...the Quattro and awd system are standard for standard for all audi cars .....not for all vw cars ...
Nextly es and other lexus sedans are just fancy versions of a camry .funny how you say audi is upscaled vw but say that lexus is different from Toyota
It's you who don't know anything about cars
🙏
@@tesla_models The Audi is no more than Volkswagen and the last gen Lexus was built from the Avalon platform, not the Camry. The fact that many of you all still think that shows you are just keyboard warriors who know nothing about cars!
@@tesla_models And I never said the Lexus is different from Toyota clown! 🤡 The inside of a Lexus says it’s manufactured by Toyota! Who would ever say something that stupid? I have only said that it’s not the same car as a Camry. If you knew cars you would know that Lexus has its own manufacturer headquarters and Toyota has their own so the two brands are built completely different in terms of quality. The Lexus brand is just owned by the Toyota Company.
@@storyofmylife7080 so does audi in ingolstadt in Germany
The wood in the Lexus is real and isn't faux.
which model of Lexus ES are you reviewing here in this video ? you didn't mention ?
It's the ES 300h Sports Luxury as noted in the description - didn't mention the specific model designation as only the 300h is available for the Australian market at which this video is primarily aimed at, and also to make it a more general overview of the two cars and not too variant-specific.
@@DriveSection alright boss, I just brought a 2020 ES 350 in Vancouver last month didn't know that Lexus offers only the ES 300h for Australia market
what good is all that tech in the audi when the car will be up on a rack half the time being serviced for some bs. it comes down to reliability for me. LEXUS
Ótima explicação. Bom video!
I’d NEVER get an Audi, they are too BLAND. I’d always consider a BMW or a benz, and if I don’t want the headcahe and I want a nice reliable car that won’t lose value and will give me comfort for a decade I’d pick a Lexus
1018 i agree with you well said.
The wood in the Lexus is real
The lexus all day long,
It is by far the better car for much less money,
Most people don't care at all about speed,
They care about comfort space and reliability.
AUDI - performance & sporty feel , LEXUS - comfort & reliability. If you want a short-term driving joy take the AUDI. If you want a long term car ownership with comfort and reliable engine, take the LEXUS.
Why does everyone here choose Lexus over Audi while I see more Audi on the road than Lexus? Though I would also choose ES over A6.
Where u live? Lol I’m in westchester nyc, my block alone, literally ALL of us have a Lexus lol , NX RX EX IS u name it, even a LFA Is owned by this dude down the block
I never see Audi where I live in Houston. All I see on my side is Lexus drivers so I’m not sure what you’re talking about
Lexus is better
First of the 45tfsi is a 12v mild hybrid not a 48v. Get you facts correct!
It's so weird watching him drive on the wrong side of the road..
I’ll wait for the price to drop
Lexus is still stubborn to drop the price. I was shocked to see the prices when I seen beautiful used Cadillac ATS 2014 cost 7k with 100k miles.
But used Lexus 2014 cost 14k or more with 100k miles. Only Lexus price will never drop.
@@ShisuiHack That's because they've proven to be reliable, holding the value
Nothing wrong with a very luxurious Camry..
Lexus ❤️Audi 👍
What???
From when did Lexus fallen in Love with Audi???
And From when did Audi started to Love Lexus????
All the people here writing about reliability have only read some internet myths and never really touched an Audi.
2014 A6 with well over 600 000km and runs just like the way it did from the dealership.
Sizce hangisi daha iyi ve para vermeye değer
Definitely I stay with Lexus.
Audi = just luxury
Lexus = luxury and reliable.
And now you need to maintain it...
Audi vs lexus is like iphone vs nokia 3310
Lexus 100%
I’ve had an A6; it’s just a tarted up Passat
Just like ES is upscale Camry.
LEXUS 😎👍
Lol, that engine light on the audi.
Audi is very bland
@@olinator9676 Exterior wise the A3 and the A7 are the only ones that look good. And interior wise Mercedes, BMW and Lexus are way better.
Audi is for those who want a higher quality alternative to VW
I would take the Audi.
Super!!! 👌👍📈33
😂😂 can't compare these two A6 is on a different level... you can compare a Lex GS350h to an A6 still Audi takes it
How? An Audi is just a Volkswagen! What level is it on????
@@storyofmylife7080 lexus is also an upscaled Toyota then ...lmfao

I don't think the Audi has a better interior design and.quality. Yes it has a better instrument cluster panel but.that's why the.price is so high. The test of the Lexus interior is better than the.Audi for me with the doors of.the Audi looking like older models. It's just the screens saving the Audi and that's a fact
The Lexus screams Toyota
The Audi screams Volkswagen
@@jessiewright1975 lol, platform is totally different.
nothing from VW is there
I'll keep the Audi. THANKS
You must visit the mechanic shop more than you’re supposed too
as a owner of lexus es 350, i have to admit that if my income get doubled i will just buy a benz e class
Doubled? How can you afford an ES but can’t afford an E Class Benz? They’re about the same price
Lease the Audi, own the Lexus.. it’s can be a gamble owning any Audi out of warranty.. but a Lexus will last forever with minimal headaches
The missing mufflers on the Lexus makes it look lame
Blows my brain cells! Audi was $90K when it came out. 2 years later it's $50K
Author would throw away extra 20k for Audi? And then own a car, which depreciates 2 times quicker than Lexus? Just to have a little bit sharper steering! What a joke. Never buy a german luxury cars, unless you print money in your basement
How come you compare Lexus with garbage German cars one day runs one month at the mechanic shop 😂😂
That moment when you realise
The Audi wins always
The interior of rhe audi (all new audis to be fair) is nothing but crap.
Been the same since 2010 trust me I had a A6 lol they just added 2 screens and up it 20k more smh
