I was talking the other day with my skate buddies how bummed we all are that Dustin Dollin kept on drinking and less skating. Wished he drank less, and skated more, he was so talented.
DD has slowed his drinking down to 1 beer a day within the last year or 2.... His part in Baker 4 was killer.... Not only that - do you know how many knee surgeries he has had. We are talking bone on bone. And the guy is in his 40s. Besides we have know clue what tricks he's been knocking the last few years. I'm pretty sure he hasn't been back to the states since his 9 club interview...

So interesting what you're saying about the talent. I just watched Spanky and Dollin's Baker 4 parts back to back & Dollin's 6 tricks or whatever are just downright impressive compared to Spanky's whole part, and I think Spanky is sober there. You can just see that next level of epicness in Dollin. Antwuan and Herman have that same thing.

@@pneuma6421 Most sports don't sell the sport with bad behavior and anti-heroic role models but the skate industry does. Children are impressionable. These are not the people you want influencing your kids. Jake Phelps once banned a skater from the magazine for wearing pads. The skate industry decided that no pads is better in advertisements, and since the skaters pay for their own healthcare, they discourage the use of pads. Skaters would all be better off in pads, given how crazy the shit is they are doing nowadays but they don't because of industry approved peer pressure. The skate industry even has reason to require pads- because then they would sell a ton more of them to skaters, but they decided that a bad example was more important. They don't want skaters considering the future. I skated, but the skateboard industry is not an industry you want informing your kids worldview. It's like sending your kid to a daycare full of chomo's.

That's what I did, started partying more and skating less. Now I'm skating more and not partying at all pretty much.
