There are countless of reasons why this is my favorite part in B4 and possibly in any skate production. I hope to see at least 1 more gems out of Dustin and hate to even think this could be his last. The body can only take so much til it tells u to ( and he is still putting it down!!! I'm glad to see he is branching into filming and editing. PD for Life!
for sure. forget the alcohol, partying, and his age - pretty sure he's had a couple surgeries on his knee and still comes back for more. People may throw shade at him for how he lives his life, but he's driven in a way very few others are.
@@dugannash9109 I read a piece on Dustin a year ago and he talks about having 7 knee surgeries over the years. @@j-mac7401 Andy Roy has gone sober and relapsed and he is sober again trying to make good of his his life. Don't make being a mess a good thing. Just love and respect the last PD. Dustin is a beast.
U couldn't ask for a better song to Incapsulate his career. Alex Cameron's "Comeback" griddy synopsis of an aging Australian television star. The main characters fight to keep his spot and stay relevant in a world that seems to be passing him by, perfectly translates to skaboarding. Replace Showbiz for skateboarding and u have the life of Dustin. This is my favorite story in Skateboarding. We want to see our favorite skateboards at any age or level. The respect for true innovation is always their. I know the internet sucks. A few shitty people can make you doubt yourself. But there will always be a outcry of true fans, who just want to see "the legends" skate
Always been a legend. His style has always been raw...and yeah he's getting older like we all do but the fact he's never sold out and kept his style is fucking awesome. If it wasn't for Dustin I wouldn't of ever skated like I did. I'm 38 now still watch baker 2g, 3 and 4 before I go out. He's inspirational.
When street skaters actually seemed like street skaters. The sorry days when the baker and flip team all had character and skating wasn't yet watered down by "athletes" and non skater owned corporations. This was right around the era that the corps started invading again but we still got classic parts. When skateboarders getting a big article in the rolling stone was crazy(piss drunks). Don't even get me started on the cringe 90's aesthetic from these lames today with phony fish eye lens and baggy gear.
It's easy for people to fail in comprehending just how gnarly some of this stuff is, because nobody does this kind of stuff. But this is far gnarlier than what he was doing as a handrail villain, in my opinion. I can't even understand how someone can look at this stuff and think, "yeah, I can do that."
I was about to say the same thing…not that he’s old but I honestly do not see too many 40 something year old skateboarders really putting it out like this. :)
@Ruby Tuesday No you werent (being obvious, that is), if you were then we wouldnt be having this problem. I think this is pretty close to that rule about sarcasm or otherwise non-genuine opinions on the internet: nobody can tell who means what based on just text.

Dang, I saw Dustin at the big day out when he was a kid skating the street course with - I think - element guys like Billy Pepper? I'd say we were in year 11, he was maybe 15 and beasting. Yeah he's not looking crisp but a) he's not dead and b) he can still walk - that's two things the boys wouldn't have bet on back in the 90s.
I dunno what to say about Dustin. His skating was one of my big inspirations when I started skateboarding. His style is wild, unclean and untamed yet incredibly sick. But man his life is rough. Amazing skater but man he ruined his looks with drugs and alcohol. He used to be so youthful. I can't help feeling like he's gonna be completely broken when he can't skate anymore 😢
years take your youth too, dont forget about that. Hes in his early 40s already. Thats good footage for a 40 yo man. He still on the road all the time traveling with vans europe and skating as much as he can without being an athlete, and still getting paid for ir.

This part is at least as good as anything he's done, and in my opinion it's far better than something like Sight Unseen, which was fairly conventional. And he was one of my very favorites at that time. Some of the stuff he's doing here is just mind-bogglingly gnarly and with such a narrow margin for error that pretty much nobody else would even consider trying it, especially after taking the slams he takes. He consistently outdoes himself. And he looks just fine for his age, and you'll be lucky if you don't look worse than he does when the time comes. He lives life to the fullest, clearly, and on his own terms, and only a very few people get to do that. He's as free as anybody can possibly be, and that's a a very admirable accomplishment.
