it's crazy how time flies by, all of this is skateboarding ancient history now, I don't think there will ever be a skate era so unique and so rad and so full of emotion and camaradery.. I feel blessed to have witnessed all of it through the videos and lived skateboarding the way our generation lived it.. thanks for sharing these amazing videos 😁🙏
But the feeling they give you.just isn't the same 😞 but shit, skating is stilk.tight and I've got my eye on some new up and comers, but the shorts guilty era and flip sorry era, adio, tilt mode were the nonstop GLORY days!
It really makes sense that Greco and then almost made a reality series about Baker. Dudes are characters
Yeah I agree with this, sometimes it’s hard for me to compare in with the new generation it’s just not the same.
Nostalgia is a very strong emotion, its very hard to top no matter what. Im from the old 411 days also, i know exactly what you guys are saying.
It was the best era of skating
really hope ali can forgive himself one day. its like 15 years later and he still looks shell shocked. i looked up to this dude so much when i was younger. really sorry was my absolute shit
He's struggles with depression and did hard drugs for a long time
He messed his brain up in the accident so yeah he has a more mellow disposition than he used to
He gonna burn for killing his friend he knows it ain't hiding.
@@fastlife6832 nah he'll be ok, both were at fault for what happened. But you on the other hand might burn for judging others pain and loss.
@@fastlife6832 why burn? He is not a bad person. I agree more with the_grudge here. Not that there is a fairyland after this but stil...
Good to see Ali is still dressing buttery AF
I saw Ali ollie the gonz gap w timberlands and a backpack on. His wheels kinda clipped and he still rolled away first try. Reynolds fs flipped the gonz 2nd try that day. Summer 98.
Wow
@@ericcarrillo1294 no they were Shane heyls, that's not Ellington
Funny thing about Ali he is the reason Drew/Jim/Erik named their board company Baker but yet he was never on Baker.
I wish Ali would have a guest board on Baker. Just Boulala in that baker font
Been waiting on this for years cant believe they dont jus do it. Beagle had several boards
Me too man
Grew up in HB. Lived next to Arto off Atlanta . Good times. This was a real golden era of skateboarding. Each time is skateboarding holds a special place in people’s hearts, this time is mine!
Thank you so much these are the best….we need more more more.
A legend of the golden era 👑
Was looking forward to this. Glad Ali came through
Thanks for documenting the golden age with this series man
Love these videos. I grew up watching 2g and Sorry. Ali was my favorite bc I was a punk rock kid that skated and liked to drink. And he straight ripped. Did the gnarliest sht
Ali was my style guide when i was 15 😂
I am 18 and Greco & Ali are slowly becoming my style guide 😂
So good,Ali still my favorite to this day
Keep these coming please
"Ali boulala. He's punk, he's Arabic and he's swede. Now that's a delicious cocktail."
Jonny Rotten.
Mhm Delicious 😅
Love that first song in this video, thanks!
What’s the name of the first song??
i love these!!!
Ali, you're flippin' awesome man, blessit for life
Thanks 🙏 dude
4:57 - boulala with a heath kirchart (birdhouse) deck!
Love for aliiii! LEGEND
These are so fucking good 👍🏼
Yeah man Ali you had pop back then bro! love those sick drops!
i did some of those too!
LEGEND!
This man was THE SHIT when I started skating
This reminds me of an old On Video Magazine
I remember him coming to Liverpool. We had to look after him, and he was going to do a few photos for mag. He was only 14 I think, still small, and quiet, which u would be if as a 14 year old, u were dropped in a strange country, with older skaters, who weren't exactly responsible citizens. Sumner was same age I think so I think they got friendly. So he was probably always going to meet the flip guys when in America, due to the Rowley link, and he spent time in Liverpool before california. I can't really remember much really. It was nearly 30 years ago, and I've had braincells move out, but he was a polite kid and a great mini ramp skater, and obviously had talent.
ALI. Absolute icon
Ali Boulala: was truly dope ,i can understand this dude ,its sad but such is life....thank you ali RESPECT MAN ,DONT BE TO HARD ON YA SELF BROTHER,THATS LIFE.TAKE CARE MAN.
Shout out Huntington Beach!!
I remember seeing him in a 411, just a tiny kid homie'd out in baggy jeans. Then he turned into Swag God. I wish he just concentrated on skateboarding, he could have been the best even though he is/was
Yup i fkn feelz ya bub!! Imaging now if he was still actually thrashing tho ... The 🐐 fkn ay!
Yeah, I feel like he may have been able to make it to GOAT status. Addiction is a mother*** though
I can honestly say the early footage before he was full punk mode showed me he had a lot more in his bag then the flip parts showed. I was super surprised when I saw his switch game and overall style. I thought it was Penny for a minute.
@@moballardful Penny was definitely an influence on the young Ali
I love his early Penny look and that is what I think of Sry Flip Days but in my opinion when Ali and Greco started to dress punk,it told me that Ali evolved
the guitar in closed captioned demo goes so hard
Love.
RIP Shane Cross
Baggy clothes Ali was the best 🎉
Would be so sick to see footage of Ali on mini that Sumner was referring to. Even now very few people do switch flip melon on minis. Corey shepherd is one who comes to mind though
That Ollie in HB where Ali eats shit is sooo gnarly
Even though I never became a pro skater I can straight up relate to these dudes. There was a time when my krew and I just skated and would get wasted and do both. Hahah And now how they are now, my krew and myself are like that. Less drinking, or no drinking at all, more responsible, and just skate and have fun. Goodtimes though. 🤘
Legend
Song at start? Playing from 00.58 onwards
I lived in Ocean Breeze from 02-05. Had no Idea those guys lived there in the 90's
Ali! 💪💜
LOVE ALI LOVE
i think Ali feels so ashamed about Shane that he didnt even try to skate again 😢
not just that he got really messed up from the accident himself
he did. and in his old vice epicly later’d he shows himself skating a bit. he talks about how he knows what to do but his body just won’t do it. he keeps trying to do a trick and he just can’t land it. i wonder if he still tries today or just sticks to his music. he’s such a big inspiration for me and his style. his personality now is just so calm. it’s crazy to see how he used to be
@@cosmicfreeway 😏 that’s exactly what I meant i saw that one as well, he was a pro if you keep trying eventually your body will follow ponte chigon morro
PROTECT ALI AT ALL COSTS
He was drinking back then because many Scandinavians learn to drink in an early age. In Denmark you can buy beer and low vol shots when you are 16 and real liquor at 18 but it's pretty commen that you start start experiementing with alkohol at 13-14 and actually with support from many parents.
Nice
4:26 YEAH DUDE!!!
I lived on Sims off warner and bolas chica great place.
Dustin. Also. Love.
PD! Rip Shane!!! Grecs Ali Goatmouf BeagleoneIsm Dustin Dollin Tom Penny DREW! Eric Ellington Jeff Lenoce!!!! Sum of tha best time's of mi life here.... Oh Mike Maldonado too Elissa Steamer... Alex Moul mane imma know imma leave out a bunch so bakerbootlegHiHinx!!!! 🙌
Legendary guy, despite all the things.
I love everything about him
These dudes were my heros. My little clique got hit way too hard by drugs though. Including me. It's sad because we were all talented. A few are dead. Some are successful, some in the madness.
I still watch 411 vid mags…old habits die hard. Clearly…circa 95’ and such.❤️🛹❤️
I always liked Ali bc he was one of the only hesh dudes that would do crazy switch and tech flip tricks. Switch Smith's and switch fs tails down rails.
shout out ocean breeze villas haha i lived in one of the old baker apartments many years later
Pain is das sound
Baker 2g made so many ali and reynolds wannabes. So many kids pretending they liked punk rock that became alcoholics because that's what the Baker guys did. One of my best friends is dead because of this exact reason, he wanted to be like them so bad and there were so many kids just like him
U gona blame these guys for ur friends alcoholism and problems?
Not everybody is made for rocknroll
Kinda sad
I’m sorry about your friend. Ive lost a couple to the same. It’s true but that goes for so many things. Rock &roll is a ride, skating is a ride, rap is a ride, motorcycle/bike life is a ride etc people go out in so many ways
@tm agad how is that bitter? its the truth. every kid dressed like them, and acted like Pd was the shit
I just realized your name is Ollie!!!
Ha. I’m kinda havin’ a fit about it. Fucking awesome (not a Dill reference. Buttt fugit. Now it’s a Dill reference.)
Dude reminds me of my grandpa
"I need a fix" Alis tribute to Sid Vicious 🤣🤣
It's a Beatles reference.
U can see how hurt ali is and doesn't want to talk about none of this shit.
@rerunz 817 I thought it was just me doesn't really seem to geeked on beeing so gnarly.
@@dawsonson no sid Vicious carved it into his chest at Sex Pistols show in TX in 1977
@@Rerunz yea he doesnt seem to like talking about his drug and booze days for obvious reasons
What’s the name of the first song !!! It’s fucking great !

Yt deleted my comment I actually shared the song with you first.. Wtf youtube?
@@stschannelt1476 i even said nevermind I found it on Bandcamp but that was deleted too 👀👀👀
What is that sd spot at 0:25 looks crazy
It's sad he can't even stand on a skateboard anymore, he's a legend.
he can still stand on a skateboard
When was this filmed?
2020
Song?
Is Warner avenue HB?
Yeah
ali should be an actor
Flip was filled with Europe unicorns..
anyone know the song in the intro?
Not only was the ocean singing/everything was singing
-Group sounds band
No death talk? Rip Shaner (blaze up for us)
There’s a lot of Fugazi in this.
0:28 song anyone?

the pride of sweden right here 🇸🇪
Drug addict dude who killed his best friend is the pride of Sweden? That’s pretty sad yo
SUCH a fkn bummer Ali hasn't come back. Seems like he's on antidepressants and/or antipsychotics.
This rly makes me sad cuz Ali rly was like a Penny-type, and now he's a.... guy.
We collective forgive u for Shane Cross as we forgive Cory Kennedy for P-Stone, but don't deny us their skating AND your sk8n, bruv.
Come BACK.
he´s not on anything, he´s slightly braindamage from the accident, he was in coma for some time after crashing into that wall also his hip is really bad.
still my favourite skater of all time..
4:16
life is such
He should be checked on hourly, no joke. Maybe never left alone.
Fuck, I need to call my psychiatrist now. There is a god size hole in dudes hart.
Shane seems to be a bit of constant in all these issues.
ALI IS PAYING A PRICE TODAY
Jesus I actually met and skated with a couple of these dudes in their prime. I feel old af
Uno!
Boozy in full get up! Four Down PD
my hass is 0ut : D
“Half of us are dying” lmao
Ali's glad he got hurt. His obligations t on hold
Best f$&?@! One pissdrunxxx4Life 🍻
Here is the difference between the current generation of skateboarding.
Nyjah trains to do something insane.
Ali did drugs and did insane things.
You can just tell today's batch takes this all too seriously. It's lost its flare completely.
Milton?
@@jurassicchrist There is always exceptions. Milton is one of them.
Back in the day though it seems like there was way more Miltons than corporate athletes like Nyjah.
@@jurassicchrist People like Chris Senn wasn't bombing hills after 6 weeks with a trainer.
Bam wasn't training to jump of a building ..... it was booze.
@@fleekwoodmac3705 Oh yes, because doing hard drugs and being a Pissdrunx member is the pinnacle of skating. Boulala is a footnote has-been better known for causing his best friend's death, meanwhile Nyjah is a worldwide name and brand who actually gives a fuck about skating and isn't just stuck talking about the "glory days" because their future has been over for 10 years. What a stupid comment.
@@tombstonejones9581 Proved my point. It's no longer a counter culture.
It will die sooner or later. Kids will stop getting into because it's polished.
'bulala' means kill in Zulu...
Andrew Reynolds and Ali Boulala were the best skaters of the crew
What about Greco? Ellington? Dustin Dollin? Just saying? That whole crew was gnarly
Everyone fucks up, get on with your life, Ali. Seek the lord. You're forgiven.
