  • here is a video i made when I rebuilt my Holley 4150 Street HP carburetor that I purchased at a swap meet. It turns out it was in very clean condition and would not have needed rebuilding but I wanted to make sure it was clean inside. It was a good experience doing the rebuild. It's always good to learn something new. I am not a pro and this is my first Carb teardown so those folks that feel compelled to say what is wrong with what they see, please don't bother. Remember what your Mom said, "if you can't say something nice..."

Thank you for posting this. I got the fuel bowls off and realized I have no idea what I am doing. Watching this really helped.

Parts 2 and 3 are both on UA-cam. Just search "Holley part 2/3" and part 2 comes up. You can add krsrr and it will for sure... and thanks for the compliments :-)

You MUST use the nitrophyl (with jet extension cutouts) when using the jet extensions. Brass jet extension float is no longer available.

nice job, im about to rebuild 2 and one is missing parts. choke and jets gone so i hope not much else. one is complete but some rust here and there. i tried to run that one, the fuel bowels filled up but no squirting when you move the throttle so something is plugged.

I have essentially the same carb, Holley 4160. Did you replace the Secondary Diaphragm?

Didn't need a rebuild at all, that is if Ethanol gas wasn't used in it, Thanks corn lobbyist and the U.S. government for cramming this crap down our throats and telling us it's a good thing... Oh btw. thanks for the upload.

Great job on the video. rebuilding a 650 4150 mechanical secondaries at this moment. I do have a question for you.
What type of tool is the chrome pick that you used to remove the Rubber Power Valve. Thank you

Thank you. It's just a little blue point multi tip pick tool I have had for years.

Yep, I picked up a set of those tools. They come in handy for carb and Other delicate rebuilding. My Holly 650 dbl project came out great. Thanks again

krsrr, you know you're gonna have to put a list down of all the songs you played from 2:37 - 5:08 right?

Kinda, but it would not be cost affective.
