Get this dude into the rock and roll hall of fame asap. He is WAY overdue one and this performance from the 90s is just one of many examples why he needs to be....the crowd, the engery, the music, how infectious it all is, speaks volumes

A largely 80's band, playing in the 90's, singing a song about an older person, reminiscing about the 60's, when he was experiencing love and life...fully for the first time and wishing he was there again. If that doesn't resonate with all of humanity, no matter what year you were born... I'll never know what will. This is my music.

This song was released when I was only 4 months old, 38 years ago. Knew it, listened to it and loved it since I was a toddler, and it's the only song I know from start to finish that my DAD loves. Phones can now be (safely) used to light stadia (instead of candles)
And to record scenes such as this,
      Given enough time and understanding
Bryan's music can turn apathy to bliss.
Be one with the crowd, stand tall, sing,
Let your voices be heard, your joy ring
Let peace reign, let love be the rule,
Sing to Bryan's songs, don't "play the fool"
Be ever truthful, be there for a friend,
The past is gone, on the future we depend
On loyalty, forgiveness, peaceful plans and hope,
Beyond selfishness, beyond hate, we can cope,
Be ever thoughtful, be kind, "be there",
Three Cheers for Bryan, and yourself, if you care.
      Hip hip hip hooray...
Peace and Long Life.🖖 Be with you, always.

I got my first real six string
Bought it at the five and dime
Played it till my fingers bled
    Was the summer of '69
Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit and Jody got married
I shoulda known we'd never get far
Oh when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah, I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life!
    Ain't no use in complaining
When you got a job to do
Spent my evening's down at the drive-in
And that's when I met you, yeah
    Standing on your mama's porch
You told me that you'd wait forever
Oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life!
Back in the summer of '69
    Man, we were killing time
    We were young and restless
    We needed to unwind
I guess nothing can last forever
    Forever, no!!
And now the times are changing
Look at everything that's come and gone
Sometimes when I play that old six string
I think about you wonder what went wrong
    Standing on your mama's porch
You told me that it'd last forever
Oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life!

I was just 15..had my first girlfriend over there that summer. fucking awesome. although now seems like British people hate Americans lol or dislike their ways...back then even during the whole oasis scene they fuxking loved Americans. wanted to be like us and imitate us in anyway. I swear I was treated like royalty over there. specially in Dublin when they heard my American ass accent ordering drinks or food there was always people trying to be nice a become friends. very nice country.
