- Live performance of Summer of 69.
Written by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance
Summer of '69
i got my first real six-string
bought it at the five-and-dime
played it til my fingers bled
it was the summer of '69
me and some guys from school
had a band and we tried real hard
jimmy quit and jody got married
i shoulda known we'd never get far
oh when i look back now - that summer seemed to last forever
and if i had the choice - ya - i'd always wanna be there
those were the best days of my life
ain't no use in complainin'
when you got a job to do
spent my evenin's down at the drive-in
and that's when i met you
standin' on your mama's porch - you told me that you'd wait forever
oh and when you held my hand - i knew that it was now or never
those were the best days of my life - back in the summer of '69
man we were killin' time - we were young and restless
we needed to unwind - i guess nothin' can last forever
and now the times are changin'
look at everything that's come and gone
sometimes when i play that old six-string
i think about ya wonder what went wrong
standin' on your mama's porch - you told me it would last forever
oh the way you held my hand - i knew that it was now or never
those were the best days of my life - back in the summer of '69

Well, songs from the 80s like this one will never get old, no matter how much you listen to them, sing them or play them...they will be tasty as they were just released. Btw, Greetings from Sri Lanka😊
its a song written about a sex position.
No cell phones, enjoying the music like humans... what a sight
I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.
I DO
i feel tearful everytime ı watch Bryan sing this song
"Summer of 69" is one of those great rock songs for eternity - a simple melody, but wonderful harmonies, and the strong bass line tops it. Yes, one cannot sit still when this gets played.
This Is MASTERPIECE ❤
I hear you Brother/Sister…just immense
This was a totally different era. Nobody makes music like this anymore. I'd give anything to be able to go back in time. This is an absolute timeless masterpiece.

I was born in 1979 this song brings back some very vivid memories of my adolescent years. I have watched this concert numerous times and it is by far one of the most poignant concert videos I have ever seen. The editing has been able to capture the raw emotions of the audience which in turn brings the lyrics to life. Bryan Adams is certainly one of the greatest singers of our times and this song simply solidifies it.
First heard this song in 1987... sitting on my motorcycle, on a hill over-looking an amazing beach in Thailand... I could not believe what I was hearing... THIS WAS MY SONG! Had a rock band in the late sixties... and a beautiful girlfriend to sing to... and yes those were the best days of MY life! ... I'm 71, still playing my guitar -and STILL rockin' to this song. Yea! Thank you Bryan!!!
80's the best era ever music never dies ...👍👍👍
And hope Still riding youre bike!
this is one of the coolest things i ever read.
I was only 13 in 1984 but this album was such a powerful influence on me and really defined the 80's for me back then --- full of memorable songs and timeless lyrics that spoke to the trials and tribulations of youth! I can remember blastin' this song at the local lake where me and buddies swam and camped out at. Carefree days full of FUN and enjoying great music, it seems like that's all we needed to be happy back then!
Danced so much to this song Ad to av knee replacement 3yrs ago been waiting since to av right one done Although in pain was well worth it Do anything to get those yrs bak Danced like No one was watching I'm 71 too Bryan Adams Bon jovi n Meatloaf still my Fave bands Thankfully got all the Cds n av a Blast now n then xx

It makes me jealous, what they have . No one's is recording, just soaking every bit of greatness. We have paid a huge price for modernization.
Yes, someone finally gets it
But the people that recorded it can play it over and over again. So they can feel the 'greatness' or the concert feeling over and over. Each person will do what makes them feel good the most so each person is different. Some will prefer phones, some won't.
@@vonagojo6637 the people who recorded the event were there specifically for that purpose and were professional. The were not audience holding camera in their hands.
@@vikasshah5898 Dude, you misread this. It gives a feeling of instant happiness and you feel as if you are performing together with the band along with the feeling of togetherness because everyone feeling the same. Thats how music connects people. I love bryan adams and I have been to his shows and I truly feel what the crowd is feeling here..
Ya transcendental Bryan. I went to his High School in East Dallas and the Booker T. Washington School of Creative Art, studied Arts and Civil Rights conflict resolution worst case scenario like grassy knoll studies as well. Love Taylor tailors in NYC garment varmits on the loose. Cool T.O.P. big brass rounding up Peggy Sue with the sassy lassies in the Summer of 2022. Love this song and the real official Bryan Adams.
You should meet his drum teachers - say they may be revolving around your hoods soon. Super sonic messages blast from the past love YO OY Bryan fans. Waiting for the signal to go surfing.Public Service Announcement from Penn Station Area where they give some rock and roll speeding tickets NOW!r
Loved it since I first heard it. and his other songs. This song makes me so happy.
Absolutely great live performance! I'm 71 and this brings back so many memories of the late 60s and early 70s. Simple and pure!
Cardiff, 1992, one of the best Bryan's concerts ever. This and other videos from this concert are also in the VHS "So Far So Good and more" that I watched HUNDRED times. I'm 46 but still makes my heart go BOOM

Whats this Dad? Its called Rock n Roll son just Talent right there ..
this is the greatest crowd song and video of all time
+Philbert Christo Any idea where he was performing?
+Philbert Christo I agree best song ever
+Sherry Joshua Most of all and the first one was on Wembley Stadium, UK in 1993 and the rest all over the world but 75% were in Europe :)
Philbert Christo - It's up there, but I would put it a distant second after Bohemian Rhapsody at Live Aid, quite possibly the greatest, live rock & roll performance of all time.
Yet to watch the live performance of AC/DC?
It's 2022 and I'm still getting goosebumps watching this!!
Still here too 🤟🤘🤘

2022 2nd of May ...I'm still enjoy listening this piece 👍👍
2022 .. still listening :-) because it's timeless! ^^
Bryan's music is timeless! Too many celebrities and artists get the fame, make the wrong choices and set bad examples both professionally and on life's choices. This man is among the few that are a great example and is admirable.
This song always makes me want to cry. The way the verse is so happy and then the chorus starts with a minor (sad) chord. Just such a back and forth of emotions throughout the song. Amazing
Saw him last month in Baltimore. His energy was amazing and he owned the arena. And when he played this song the place erupted. One of the very best concerts I’ve ever seen!
Bryan Adams is a living legend, a true music treasure
Don't ever change, Bryan. You and Bon Jovi are the last men standing.
Aww you forgot the boss x
Nice reference to the best track Bon Jovi ever wrote!!
Steven Tyler?
@@dianemcalpine65 If you mean Springsteen, he sold out a long time ago.
I recently saw both in concert. Bryan was fantastic, lived up to all my expectations. Bon Jovi did not. I love his music but his voice is shot and it was so disappointing. There’s no shame if can you longer sing like you used to but don’t make people spend $200 on a concert ticket to find that out.
I was 16 in 1980…..what a decade to grow up in….the best!!
snap
Amazing performance, thank you bryan for this never forgetable live performance.
Watching the people sing this song, and the joy they experience while singing, makes this video incredible.
Ya!
Brain Adam the famerial singer since in 1980 in cotabato city philipines
I have never lived in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s but this music always takes me back in time to those periods and I see people I have never met, experience things I never experienced. Music of those times stand the test of time and live forever. This masterpiece of Bryan Adams will live for eternity. Greatest respect to the great Bryan Adams.
Beautiful words
