Imagine if he said “and you suck at producing”, people who don’t watch his channel would be so confused lol
Lol
hahaha yeah
😂
Oh... is he the puppet guy?
Mark Grant Nope, that’s a different guy. I the “puppet guy’s” name is Reid Stefan. The realist puppet in the game! Underbelly is the “You Suck At Producing” guy. O...K... So check it!
so I don't suck at producing anymore? wowzers!
XD
Jajajajajjajaaj
Derek, don't fool yourself.
no you still do
wowzers!
I am disappointed that he didn't tell me I sucked at something in the intro.
I think everyone are heard it in head
Paranoidal Dyslexia yep.
You suck at producing! I hope i helped a bit
You wouldn't be watching this video if you didnt suck... :p
@@ParanoidalDyslexia wowzers your name matches your comment
Mad respect that Ableton is finally giving this guy some shine
It's awesome to see Underbelly sharing some of his lime light with a nice start up company like Ableton!
@@andrwwaugh this abelton seems pretty good got a start up company
I was lowkey expecting this to be out of character. So happy it isn't! Shows that the folks at Ableton have a good sense of humour! Love this series.
I was still expecting to hear “and you suck at producing” tho
Agreed!
And Underbelly was great at still doing what he does, but dialing it back a bit.
I was “lowkey expecting” some incoherent yank child butchering grammar in the comments.
He kinda does go a little ooc at 8 min
Uncle Joe must be so proud of ya cheers
RIP Uncle Joe
i love the fact that he kept his teaching style even with ableton. That speaks well of both Ableton and Undebelly
Agreed!
Yes! He turned down the language a bit, but still the same style.

I hired Underbelly for some private, online mixing lessons. Well worth it. He has you record the sessions so you can go back and watch again later; which is a fantastic help.
It's funny, because his style of speech and delivery I usually interpret as a kind of "comical sarcasm" but in this context he just seems happy.
Credit to the Ableton crew for letting Underbelly keep his own style intact. Wowzers!
Best tutorial ever.
Omg yes!
This has to be so confusing if you don't know him.
um yup
Because he said wowsers 50 times?
This happened with me. New producer here. Saw this video and was so confused by the guys tone/talking. Then I saw the hilarious you suck at producing series without even remembering I saw this video. Then I ran into this video again and it all clicked and made sense. Sooo fkn good!!
Now I get it haha
Honestly, it was only right Ableton put him on as a featured instructor. I learned so much from him on his own channel. The guy really knows live
Fr he's actually one of the better producers teaching on UA-cam. Dude knows what he's talking about when he speaks about things, despite all the funnies.
It looks like it has hurt him pysically not so say how much we suck at producing.
for sure xD
You sure need to check out his Live roasting tracks
I bet that dislike is about him not telling us how much we suck!
I really like that ableton is reaching out to these youtube musicians and producers, really dope!
Underbelly could be working with Beyonce and still open up the DAW and say "okeh so check it"
And tell her she sucks at producing
@@VeganKebabDoRuky she does tho
@@voLumez no u
the most lowkey mind blowing crossover ever
wowzers, ableton does not suck at picking their producers
"Hi I'm Underbelly.." long awkward breath holding from the entire music production UA-cam community waiting for what's next.... " ...here with ableton"...
that was close...
this guy could be a professional tutorialist
wowzers
this is the most sidehead of Underbelly we've ever gotten
The most Mid/Side EQ'd version
This is probably the most beautiful tutorial song ever made
he really kept this up for 25 minutes, a true professional
Derek got bullied in the playground once again. Wowzers.
Wowzers, I learnt so much so fast here! I mostly learnt just how much I suck at producing.
Im so happy that stayed in character for official ableton videos (brought it to a PG level tho). You da real MVP!
Definitely one of my top 5 producers... and I've never heard one of his songs! Great lessons.
He’s uploaded some in his channel, and I think one of the song is just like this one in the tutorial
Underbelly is taking over the Ableton Studio. Wowzers.
Interesting how “not ass” became “not boring”
He made up for not saying 'you suck at producing' by saying 'wowzers' much more than usual
The first section of this video is literally what I needed to know for my first few years of production. I tried searching the internet to find out the 'function' of each drum instrument but never found any answers, so I just had to figure it out by trial and error. I wish someone could have explained to me how each drum/instrument type affects the track as you did in this video.
I wish I could 1000 times Like this. Love him or hate him (I'm a fan!) his style of teaching works and works WELL.
Underbelly on ableton official vids? No way, that's freakin awesome
"It's time to add what really matters: *The Bass.* Love it.
This guy is a beast. I do such at producing so I keep an eye on him to help sharpen up my game. His knowledge of Live in incredible, he hooked up the bass, then laced it with a cool little melody. So many songs within that song. I like his work.
"OTT is like the MSG of EDM"
When he said that I was like... "Damn. He's right."
I just thought "what the hell that means" haha. I only know that EDM is electronic dance music but that's all
If u have baby put msg on your baby : said uncle roger
@TIGERSYNTH make better baby 👍
@@tigersynth8378 never thought I’d see that reference on an Ableton tutorial. 😁
Underbelly is a goddamn treasure, so glad to see him on the Ableton channel.
How come this is unlisted? the world needs more underbelly
Goes in thinking: "Oh this is a nice, relaxing track"
Half-way in: "Oh okay, nasty dubstep bass wubz it is."
This was simply one of the best tutorials I have ever seen in my entire life, thank you for that!
Learned more in this video than in just about any other I've watched on these subjects. Thank you!
You were always up there as one of the greats to me, but this "official" video just cemented it. Well done mate 👍
thank you Ableton for getting Uncle Joe for a video. This man is such a great teacher. Glad to see he's on your radar.
He just explained soo many things I didn't know jack about in a fantastic way - salutes to both Ableton and this underbelly feller
Man's got mad skills, AND he's the most entertaining music production tutor on the big wide web. Props.
WOUZERSSS love underbelly
Probably the best Ableton video I've seen thus far, and def the nicest track!🔥💯
So dope man glad you’re on here
I work mainly in Native Instruments and I was (able to n) :) learn so much from this video. The fact that you guys brought in Underbelly is so awesome, he always remembers to remind me what I suck at and why I need to get better lol.
GREAT VIDEO!!!!!
Ableton, thank you for the new "From the Ground Up" section. It is like a breath of fresh air, inspiration and motivation to make music. Thank! You are always on top! Underbelly is one of my favorite Ableton teachers! always waiting for his appearance on your channel!
Maybe I’m being petty, but a link to this channel would be nice in the description to throw some traffic his way ua-cam.com/users/underbe11y
I know others are out there, but nice to see a song created in Session View!
Wowsers indeed. Polished presentation and excellent musicality. Nice one ☝️
Great stuff! Always end up in the hell of arrangement! This def helps with that and even just outright spot on helps with starting a song idea. Props
I have to say i’m amazed how nice and pretty you manage to explain what you are doing while you do it. This tutorial is a masterpiece and it has made me wiser than I was about 30 minutes ago. Great work! 10/10
Awesome to have Underbelly featured here. Wowzers!
After he saying "Let's get started" I was anticipating the good ol' brush drumfill and piano intro but that awkward silence also made me feel great.
Wowzers! Thanks Ableton for this !
Oh shit, it's Underbelly. FINALLY ABLETON, FINALLY
Seeing Underbelly out of character would be like finding out Santa isn't real all over again.
Soo well deserved, amazing vid! Wish you more success! 🍻🍻
I love the way they allowed u to keep the same format we love from u
Congrats!
Probably a minority here, but I really liked how you explained and taught A LOT and didnt make me feel like an idiot all the time. props dude, your piano skills are beautiful
Ah man you deserve this so much !!! You’re the best !!
This tutorial has so much gold and valuable advice, Underbelly is an inspiration
Impressively concise & compact lesson this guy has real mix engineering chops
I love underbelly
Proud Uncle Joe from the basement.
Btw: The Song is called 'Artificial Light' and is the first tune on his album that dropped last Friday.

Thank you for covering a lot of aspects of Ableton and using MIDI too (I wasn't aware of the mapping feature), very useful video, great job!
Great tutorial...your personality and skills coming through!

Wowzers. He stayed in character in this.

Wowzers, look at that sausage.
Just found this bangera few weeks ago, now here's the dude himself putting it all together. Love it!
tremendously useful and inspiring, thanks a lot!!
OOkeh... that was some very good tips WOWZERS! “ Look at at sausage!” Lol good vibes for sure
Whenever he speaks I feel this sudden urge to get up and do pilates
Just discovered another amazing music producer! Thank you Ableton.
wowzers! basically covered all the basics i needed to make a track! nice one! :D
What a legend.
True stroy I once went to a show, think it was a freddie gibbs show but might be wrong....and this dude came out as an opening act and had an mpd32 with a guitar strap on it and jammed the fuck out.
Ok Wowzers, his pace of explaining things and all the little tips in between the other important tips are, well, perfect. Wowzers, glad I found this gentleman.
Wowzers! I’ve got to see Underbelly’s LinkedIn version
UnderBelly: Hi! I'm Underbelly...
in my mind [ I suck at producing 😪]
but he didn't say it today 😅
Why is this genius unlisted?
nice
Underbelly, proving how much we suck at producing.
Learnt so much from this, so many basics of Ableton that after 8 years I still didn't know.
really learnt a lot from this tutorial, underbelly is such a good mentor in music production
He finally made it 😭
Pewdiepie profile pic!
I pressed "M" and "B" at least 4 times while watching lol
WOWZERS, this was actually dope af thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the info. Wowzers!
Disappointed I didn’t get to hear that piano lick before “Ok, so check it.” 😢
So sad :(
That made me laugh - very good musician & arranger too, cheers for that.
Thanks for such a great tutorial and inspiration! WOW!
Super tutorial. Thanks!! 🙏
Wowzers quality content
Best line, was "Wow look at that sausage, looks aamazing."
Cheers to Ableton. Great contribution Underbelly.
Underbelly is fire dude; appreciate the smart lesson, all the way from Brasil here.
