When i started learning ableton I was worried about tutorials, cause there were so many FL guys on UA-cam, but with these Series, Ableton keep it up and we want more. 🙌🏻
Maybe the Best in-depth, yet simple tutorial on building a song in Live I've seen, and explaining the details of each click and move is very helpful. Perfect.
Some really good stuff in here. Seeing his methodology and the specifics of how he uses Simpler and Drum Racks is really helpful. I've been using Live for years, but still learned some things.
Tried and true methods. It's crazy to come back to another Freddie J breakdown 10 years later and see the same basic techniques still turning out magic. Legendary. Freddie Joachim, Eric Lau, and 9th Wonder made me.
Absolutely love Binoculars by Freddie. It introduced me Francoise Hardy and her great work. Great video showing how simple making beats can be with good samples.
I wanna thank you so much for this amazing video. I learned a lot more than chopping samples! I love this daw, and thanks to guys like you I slowly learn it’s full potential. My drum programing skills just went trough the roof! Thank you!
couple things: Freddie Joachim one of my faovrites! i shoulda *known* he played i am surprised at how little he bobs his head as he was first laying out the drums...lol i agree...i could listen to a netflix series on beatmaking by freddie. mad chill :) my heart is warmed knowing that tens of thousands of people have learned to make better beats. :)
Can someone help me? Please? I've managed to slice the track like this 1:27 but when I use the pads, the song plays out of order and some don't even trigger anything. I'm using the akai mpk2 mini
Thanks, Freddie for sharing your ideas and expertise with us. I truly enjoyed it and will now invest in small instruments as well. Keep up the good work.
I've been an avid follower of yours ever since I stumbled across your myspace when that was thing LOL. Thanks so much for sharing some tips with us! I learned more than a few things I will be adding to my workflow forsure! So thankful! One of the dopest to ever do it POINT BLANK!
the best part about these is seeing how many different ways there are to use live. I've been on the 90 day trial, i'm still figuring things out and I'm not sure exactly what i want out of live as far as genre goes because i'm still learning on how to use the program and craft my style, which has been mostly influenced by these videos and other youtube vidoes like yousuckatproducing and kenny beats. I'm on the very tail end of that trial and originally i was going to go with live lite that came with my novation mini mkiii, but honestly, suite is for sure what i really want and what i'd get to anyway.
Slice drum sample to midi track directly from the browser by right clicking. You don't need to drag the sample into a channel to then slice to new midi track. The Auto Filter low pass on your chain. Well directly after it you have the EQ8. You have a high pass on to cut out the low frequencies. Why not just use the low pass setting on the EQ8 as well instead of having both plugins?
It seems to me since it's an effect rack he uses it in multiple projects.. perhaps he wants to use some of the features of the auto-filter sometimes such as the LFO or the envelope follower? Thats what I would think at least.
The DRUM BUSS brings out the treble on the snare, If it had a spreader to widen out the snare the snare will sound virtual3d-like. With Arcade as long as you can rec your own vocals, ooh's and ahh's then ARCADE is/was made for vocals/ists. THISIS ABLETON'S NEW HIPHOP SAMPLER/PRODUCER he made it all so simple.....r. This is why I love UA-cam. Awesome content, thank you for all the hard work putting it together. It’s inspirational to watch and full of lessons to learn. 🤙✌️
Hope to get an answer! Ableton has always been proud of excellent functionality right out of the box, eq8 - an excellent equalizer, but why in 2020 does it not support the linear phase function or dynamic change? Please add it users are waiting for these things: dynamic option of EQ8 (Must have) Comping, guys, 2020 year. We need it in 10.2 Pitch correction (has even daw which costs 200$, (logi), (cub) stud.one and even FL=D) / ARA2 support MPE support MULTIBAND FX'er (Like in BWS, Stud.one... You can create it in ableton, but it should be native) A native LFO tool. And a much more flexible one than the M4L one that comes with Live Suite. (and indeed it would be useful to add another plugins) Group freeze (would be nice, but not critical) map SOLO button in chain. Group and hide RETURN tracks. (Buses), => no limits on return tracks. Native Loudness meter device. (LUFS, RMS) / integrated LUFS meter in ableton Limiter. Easy and useful. Add a more flexible process of waveshaping with the ability to modulate from the volume level. We want Ableton to be the “Lego constructor” for creating anything else, right up emitting analog sound! full-fledged fullscreen disabling velocity sensitivity in midi keyboards. Add the notation of knobs return tracks on the tracks so that when their number exceeds 5, it is easy to determine where the return is sent and what, or remake the send system altogether, make it convenient to use!
Freddie Joachim is truly the Bob Ross of lo-fi beatmaking. His voice is so soothing his explanation being crisp and clear.
You need an Afro to be the bob ross of anything
@@darrelloike To quote the classic movie "Dumb and Dumber".... so you're saying there's a chance?! lol
Most of his stuff is not lofi

Thank you for showing the complete process and keeping it simple. I think I can go into Abelton and really come up with something.
Sounds like one of these typical laidback background tracks for studying on UA-cam. Like it!
Absolutely love Binoculars by Freddie. It introduced me Francoise Hardy and her great work. Great video showing how simple making beats can be with good samples.
