Goodness me, there's so much to live for. So many knobs and buttons, so much useful info. Thanks Underbelly! You've become one of if not my favorite music instructor I've found thus far!
You'd think Adsense was giving an extra dollar for every 'wowsers' said...Possibly the best music production channel tutorial channel on UA-cam! Thanks! :-)
Dope tut as always! Just one thing to min. 1:48: You could also map the volume control to one of your faders and then hit the MIDI button on the top right an click the arrow on the top left corner. There you can set the max. amount of your specific fader for instance to -6db. Then you could turn the fader on your MIDI controller all the way up and it won't pass that line. Just to let you know!
Ok wowzers, from all the videos I've seen in your channel I found this one particurlarly useful. I'd love a whole "you suck at playing live" mini-series, or at least a second video on how to prepare a set of different songs in the same session, for example. Thanks, keep it up!
perfect timing! great alternative for those who don't got the handy dandy foot peddle on your other video on live looping. saved me time & money =) p.s. love your enthusiasm n humor when sharing these things!
I am an old Gen Xer that cut my teeth in analogue vinyl many moons ago. After painfully reviewing young millennial UA-cam producer channels I found you. Thank Wowsers that satire is strong in your creative arsenal. Up there with your musical talents. Thanks for skipping the frills and getting to the point. I (now proudly) suck at producing.
Great video, really inspirational! Could you explain what does have you assigned (at 07:58 and 08:15) on the pad and what effect on the knobs for the repeated/pitched effects?
Hey thanks for this! Really informative. Wanted to ask what exactly was mapped on those knobs for the whole thing to stop and fade out at the end. Thanks!
Hey just so you know instead of using the sends to control the volumes you can just map your faders to the regular faders and in the midi mapping you can set your faders to only go from negative infinity to 0db or whatever you want
You actually map the faders to the volume of your tracks and set the max to nominal instead of +6 , however this does look like a super sweet config for live looping.
Hey, great video! How do you set your clips to automatically loop? And how do you ensure they loop for the proper amount of time? I often struggle to get it exactly in sync.
hey dude awesome vid ! i'm just beginning on Ableton and i wonder how is it possible to determine the lenght of the loop so that you don't have to press the stop rec button each time ?
I use an RC505 for loops looking into other ways of looping my synth/ acoustic instruments, love your video makes me think of other ways of looping, this AKAI device only works with software?! Can I just use it as a loop machine? If not any other recommendations for loop machines? I really like how you just add FX to the track I can do that with the RC as well. Thanks again!
Loved this video, thanks a lot for the walk through! Can you please explain how you mapped the pad that corresponds to 'creating a new clip' on the first press + triggering it on a second press? This seems like such a fun setup to start creating right away!
Very helpful. I’m betting you prefer the Akai controller to the Push2 ...but might you expand on the considerations and tradeoffs? I’m just beginning the search. Thanks!
Man, I've watched countless vids on this topic already. This is the one that actually made everything click! I didn't quite follow the Beat Repeat part. Did hitting the pad turn on the beat repeat, while the knob changed the pitch of that plug in? What exactly was the pad mapped to?
You can easily assign exact values for your midi mappings just by pressing cmd m. That way you don’t need to use send levels to controll volume of individual tracks. Ableton is excellent for this, much faster (workflow-wise) than logic pro.
this video ROCKS!! thanks for posting!.... is there a way to have the BPM set after a loop? no click track (click record, click again for loop and set in that BPM)
Underbelly - what Ableton device are you using for your Fender Rhodes instrument? Is it an Ableton device or 3rd party... great vibes, one of my favorite channels
Wowzers!

true that, very good tip. Will definitely have a video on midi mapping tricks soon.
Was gonna say the exact same thing!
great tip .. did not know that
You suck slighty less at producing
do you have an idiot proof guide to doing this? im a bit unsure what to do
Ok wowzers, from all the videos I've seen in your channel I found this one particurlarly useful. I'd love a whole "you suck at playing live" mini-series, or at least a second video on how to prepare a set of different songs in the same session, for example. Thanks, keep it up!

You probably are the best ever youtube production tutor
learned more from these 9 minutes than the hours of other videos on looping.
This video never gets old

love everything about this vid
As soon as you played that Rhodes, I just sat back, and let you play out. This was money all the way. Keep it up👏.
Oh man. I just realised, I suck at producing.
very good
When he started speaking in tempo at 4:49
Great swing my man
That bass drum fit so good with those first chords, wowzers
I'm crying because the metronome makes me feel pretty miserable too, very grateful that you've validated the nausea of my ears.
Dude...solid content. Gold standard demo. Thanks.
I love your content. Keep it up, proud of you.
"you'll noticed that I've mapped the first five faders still attached to my controller" XD
I love this channel man!
Wowsers! Just discovered your channel. Made my evening.
thanks for watching jason
this was hilarious and really helpful. I now have a general idea what to do and some good tips for mapping.
This channel is Wowzers!
Once you started heating up with the effects, shit got fire. Respect, new sub here.
The subtitles are 🔥
Best loop tutorial of all time

I like your flavor bro. Vibe is dope. Great teaching techniques as well. Keep it up!!
thanks numbynumb
wowzers bro. thanks for existing
Been recording guitar loops with mic and amp but just messed about with this tonight and man it's so much more versatile
Absolute awesomeness!
Your channel is awesome!
So simple, so instructive..
Great video, really inspirational! Could you explain what does have you assigned (at 07:58 and 08:15) on the pad and what effect on the knobs for the repeated/pitched effects?
You can edit min / max values for midi controller mappings, so you can have the sliders max out at 0 dB instead of +6 dB.
I love this dude!!
literally the best tutorial channel lmaooo
That was wowzers, mother frickin impressive.
Wowerz my guy! That was amazing!
I’ve been looking for decent guides. You had me at dingus. I’m listening....
Wow nice... loving your tutorials man.
Hey thanks for this! Really informative. Wanted to ask what exactly was mapped on those knobs for the whole thing to stop and fade out at the end. Thanks!

A funny tut youtuber who is talented and entertaining. Amazing, keep it up. Wish I found this channel sooner.
thanks mayne

I think you're the best person of the universe.
This is amazing
THANKS BRANDNDNDNENE
awesome thank you! id love to see a video of you explaning how you set up your macro pads. :)
one of a few looping videos that I have stuck with to the end - now to try it for myself. Hope I manage it :) great video
I really like you you help a lot. Thanks dude!
ok no problem
Awesome tut!!!!!!! Would love for you to do one on how too get started scratching
scratching vid coming soon
Hey, great video! How do you set your clips to automatically loop? And how do you ensure they loop for the proper amount of time? I often struggle to get it exactly in sync.
Wow! Amazing! Just a question: how do you do the looks it without “capture” function?
When midi mapping you can take the max volume down to 0db from 6db, solving your clipping fader problem.
Thank you so much for this video!!
thx bb
Wowzers. I’m inspired.
i love your "lets get started"-face. hope patent is pending.
face currently under reconstruction
Wowzers, this was a great video!
That Rhodes sounds awesome, may I ask what do you use for it? Scarbee Vintage Keys or something else?

Great video thanks.
Side note; this guy is every composition major in the country.
Is it possible to get that project file as a template or mind telling what the FX settings are?
W O W Z E R S. I'd like to adopt this as my 2020 exclamation of the year please.
You can place Utility plug ins -6db on each channel so the full range of faders is usable with no sends too.
you're talented my man
very inspiring, thanks
no problemo
Love you forever

Hey Underbelly just checking again to see if you can help with my question :)
have the same question
Me too :/
Sick guitar
lmao i don't even have this program and i watched the whole thing. i love him lol
Very helpful. I’m betting you prefer the Akai controller to the Push2 ...but might you expand on the considerations and tradeoffs? I’m just beginning the search. Thanks!
This man hits a fat dab before every video I swear 😂 love these videos though.
Man, I've watched countless vids on this topic already. This is the one that actually made everything click!
I didn't quite follow the Beat Repeat part. Did hitting the pad turn on the beat repeat, while the knob changed the pitch of that plug in? What exactly was the pad mapped to?
I have a question! ✋🏻
How do you mapped those knobs to the loop/delay/reverb fx?
Thnx for the best producing tutorials on yt!!
just press ctrl + m for mapping
yup yup. If you go to audio effect racks in ableton there's a bunch of built in fx designed for easy midi mapping. check check it
ive got the same mpd, love them
Hi did you manage to make the same tamplate as his, i have the same mpd32 but i cant make this template with the red box and everything
Hi, really liked your video. What is that Synth? Is it from Ableton's stock sounds?
wowzers !
good work my brother

4:50 "New...clip...on the Rhodes track" was perfectly on the beat
best upload
thank
What effect was that second knob? Closed caption is telling me he's saying "shrimp with the leg on" and I just have a feeling that's wrong.
Another good one!
ayyy thanks maurice
Wowzers.
Wowzers. Everytime
Nice one, thanx!
