If there is anyone else following the monthly calendar and feeling sort of guilty because of the lack of heat during this week, here's a little reminder to you (and to myself) that rest is good, rest is healthy and rest is necessary. Give yourself the time to enjoy simple movement. More strength is coming soon, but for now it can wait. And lots of love to all my fellow Renew folk, you got this! Namaste
This has given people like me who have chronic pain a chance to feel like we're able to do the whole week successfully and even though it doesn't matter if you're doing it without modifications they're still that lingering feeling like you're not doing The right way.
Thank you for writing this, I have ADHD and have trouble giving myself a break especially when I'm physically ill with a cold right now - really is wonderful to be reminded that we're all human who require breaks just as much as we may need challenges to help us grow

And at the end, join me as I roll off my much-narrower-than-Adriene's mat onto a cold floor. Yesterday, we dropped straight from an extended summer into late fall. Almost made it to freezing last night. But no matter, I just hope early fall returns. I do not want to miss my favorite season. Still day 17. 378 days in a row.

Due to a variety of health issues, I haven't been able to workout like I normally would. And it was really bringing me down. Someone mentioned yoga, and sent me the link to your wheelchair yoga video. As a double amputee, I've always been really hesitant to try it, but I decided to at least attempt over the weekend. I'm so glad I did! I've tried it before but never found anyone whose videos were easy to adapt to with my disability. With you, I''ve found some that are pretty easy to adapt to, and it's been awesome! Today is my third day in a row doing yoga with your guidance. Thank you!!!!
Wass a little worn out today. Did yoga when I woke up and followed up with yoga at our Senior Citizen Center and end the day with YWA again! My arms are too short to extend around my bent legs, but I still enjoyed the session. Mr. Lower Back was missbehaving a little, but I finished a great session! Thank You!

Thank you Benji :) Just closing off day 1 of the Reclaim Your Centre #ywahomeretreat and feel amazing! Today is Women's Day in South Africa and this retreat could not have come at a better time! In one of the largest demonstrations staged in our country's history, 20 000 women of all races marched to the Union Buildings on 9 August 1956, to present a petition against the carrying of passes (books required by men of colour to be allowed into 'whites only' areas, kind of like a passport) by women to the prime minister. What an awesome way to pay homage to the women that changed SA history!
WOW what a lovely back stretch at the end! I've never felt like I could *really* let my head hang completely while in forward folds, but today something changed and I could let it hang a bit more than before. Very refreshing :)
I've been feeling overwhelmed by the number of deadlines I have to meet over the past week or so and just how much work there is to do. Was thinking of sleeping late this Sunday morning to get a little break from all this work. Knowing what day it is today, I checked my phone's notifications, immediately saw this and clicked it. I decided to commit to doing Yoga for at least 10 minutes every day, for the rest of my life. Here I am, on Day 14. As I sail through life, there's no hurry. Just being in the present moment, just being here today, doing my duties. Not in the past, not in the future. But right here, right now. ❤ Thank you Adrienne, for bringing these Monthly calendars to the world. These are the biggest blessings to the world. This is what the world needs. Today I need to move back home for Christmas, which includes putting my cat into her carrier. She hates it and hates the car ride but I promised to take care of her so that means moving her when I move as well. Hearing cesar millans voice combined with adrienes messages (who would have thunk) I remind myself and set the intention to let go of past experiences and do my best not to make any connections to what happened in the past. Today is a fresh experience, the calmer I am the calmer my fur baby will be (in any event the more stress I bring the more I feed her anxiety too). Happy holidays to all and may the tools of yoga help you as I hope they will help me today to accept that life is like the sea with constant waves coming and going, and today is not yesterday, and today will be over tomorrow.

Adriene, in this strange Coronavirus world I am isolating here in England. You say ‘slow your roll’ but it seems life has never been slower than now in lockdown and so quiet, no planes or traffic near and enjoying the sounds of nature like never before. But you are right because very often inside my head my mind is going crazy fast. How strange is that ? So this practice was very apt for me today, calming my mind from stress and worries. I don't know why but somehow I can't help but cry after the practice today. Been sitting all day on my chair to work for a company on the other side of the globe and for the past days I had been asking myself if not living on the same time zone as my family and friends are, if letting my back ache from all the sitting, is worth it. Of course it is and I am indeed blessed to be working when a year ago, I was out of work because of the company closure due to the pandemic. Sometimes it's just really nice to slow down and think, and be thankful for what you have in the moment. Cheers to everyone on Day 14 of Renew.
REFRESH day 10: I didn't know I needed this until I sat down on my mat and started. I'm someone who, despite struggling with depression, has a lot of energy that I need to burn off daily, otherwise I won't sleep well. But apparently, I needed to slow it down today, and this video helped me realize that.
Blessed Beloved Refresh Yogis! Yay Day 10 is so sweet. One of my other yoga 🧘🏾♀️ teachers always recommends yin ☯️ yoga b/c I need to slow 🐌 my roll. Well, I've been going full speed ahead for the past few days. This practice made my cells and organs happy and aided with some relief in my upper back. My husband and I were so sleepy 😴 last night we fell asleep on the couch, so I'm skipping my headstand practice today to focus on self-care and prep for an evening workout. Best wishes everyone! Refresh day 10, I'm headed into a longer than average work day and I feel pretty calm now. Since I struggle with daily anxiety so far this months calendar has been amazing for bringing me internal balance. I'm still learning how to engage these thoughts and feelings off the mat but the longe I stick with it I have confidence that I can do this and become the person I strive to be. Namaste 💙
I shed a few tears in the end.. but I felt so happy. Even though bad stuff happen sometimes, I know that I am strong on the inside. If I can take out time to care for myself and my body, I know that I'm a seeker for happiness and self love. Infact, I am love and happiness. They are all in me.

Hello Adriene! I’ve never commented before as I am quite shy but tonight I felt I wanted to share. I’m 19 and have been practising with you for a couple years now. I suffer from severe anxiety and depression, and have just recently gone through a break up. It’s been a very rough time for me, but you and your practices have given me light. This was the first time I have cried during practice, because I felt so proud of how far I have come mentally. Thankyou Adriene for giving me guidance! x

Am I the only one who felt this weird feeling in lower back when laying on burrito roll? Lol. I wouldn't say pain - but some type of discomfort because at the same time it felt soooo good for the rest of my spine. Thank you Adriene for amazing practice, as always. Lots of love xx Update: doing it again now after 11 months of every day yoga and still feeling the same :D
I injured my lower back a couple months ago and I went with a physician that practiced Chinese traditional medicine, so there was acupuncture and massages and stuff. The feeling of discomfort yet rest during the taquito roll moment was exactly what I felt during my treatment so I can guess it is only the healing of all the tension we may have locked in there.
You have helped me so much, I'm so grateful to have access to these videos! I Even if I am feeling lazy before I start I always feel much more calm and present after. Thank you :) namaste
Thank you! Needed this so much today! My hubby has Covid and taking care of him at home. Everything today felt like one step fwd and 14 steps back...was frantic and frenzied all day. Really needed to slow my roll and this did just that for me. I am feeling more centered and grounded now! 💖

Been having difficult relationship problems, some things are out of my control, and I didn't realize how much I needed something to ground my emotions & presence here today. This was a surprise for my Sunday morning ! Truthfully, I needed some exercise, some wakeup, but I relaxed and enjoyed your lovely words Adriene as we always do, so therapeutic and caring. We know you’ve always got our backs and our needs 🙏 I know i don’t have to always follow the calendar and I often don’t. Sometimes it doesn’t suit the day, so I always ‘find what feels good’ as long as I meet you on the mat every morning that does it for me 🙏🧘🏼♀️🧘🏻♀️💕

Thank you Benji :) Just closing off day 1 of the Reclaim Your Centre #ywahomeretreat and feel amazing! Today is Women's Day in South Africa and this retreat could not have come at a better time! In one of the largest demonstrations staged in our country's history, 20 000 women of all races marched to the Union Buildings on 9 August 1956, to present a petition against the carrying of passes (books required by men of colour to be allowed into 'whites only' areas, kind of like a passport) by women to the prime minister. What an awesome way to pay homage to the women that changed SA history!

WOW what a lovely back stretch at the end! I've never felt like I could *really* let my head hang completely while in forward folds, but today something changed and I could let it hang a bit more than before. Very refreshing :)

I've been feeling overwhelmed by the number of deadlines I have to meet over the past week or so and just how much work there is to do. Was thinking of sleeping late this Sunday morning to get a little break from all this work. Knowing what day it is today, I checked my phone's notifications, immediately saw this and clicked it. There's no better way to slow it down than with a brand new video of Adriene's. Thank you for being by our side on both the hard and happy times Adriene. As I sail through life, there's no hurry. Just being in the present moment, just being here today, doing my duties. Not in the past, not in the future. But right here, right now. ❤

Today I need to move back home for Christmas, which includes putting my cat into her carrier. She hates it and hates the car ride but I promised to take care of her so that means moving her when I move as well. Hearing cesar millans voice combined with adrienes messages (who would have thunk) I remind myself and set the intention to let go of past experiences and do my best not to make any connections to what happened in the past. Today is a fresh experience, the calmer I am the calmer my fur baby will be (in any event the more stress I bring the more I feed her anxiety too). Happy holidays to all and may the tools of yoga help you as I hope they will help me today to accept that life is like the sea with constant waves coming and going, and today is not yesterday, and today will be over tomorrow.
Everyday I SMILE because of the wonderful Yoga practice with Adriene and the community around the world. My body is sooooooooo healthy because I started the journey in January of 2020. Peace and Merry Christmas! And looking forward to the New Year to practice with ALL of you!!! Blessings!

Adriene, in this strange Coronavirus world I am isolating here in England. You say ‘slow your roll’ but it seems life has never been slower than now in lockdown and so quiet, no planes or traffic near and enjoying the sounds of nature like never before. But you are right because very often inside my head my mind is going crazy fast. How strange is that ? So this practice was very apt for me today, calming my mind from stress and worries. Thank you sweet Adriene and Benji for the love and for making life better as you always do 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏻♀️💞🙏
Someone described our situation as a new kind of busy. My days are full and I go to bed tired! Making good progress in the garden, now that the heavy digging is done. Take care and stay safe 🌷🌼
Liz, I think after our yoga with Adriene our gardens are our saviour. We have been very fortunate with our weather and continuing our fitness in our gardens is perfect. Yours will reward you all that hard work and mine, I’m taking slow as it’s more a case of pruning, some heavy, tidying and digging. Stay in keep safe 🧘🏼♀️🌺🌱🙏

I don't know why but somehow I can't help but cry after the practice today. Been sitting all day on my chair to work for a company on the other side of the globe and for the past days I had been asking myself if not living on the same time zone as my family and friends are, if letting my back ache from all the sitting, is worth it. Of course it is and I am indeed blessed to be working when a year ago, I was out of work because of the company closure due to the pandemic. Sometimes it's just really nice to slow down and think, and be thankful for what you have in the moment. Cheers to everyone on Day 14 of Renew.
REFRESH day 10: I didn't know I needed this until I sat down on my mat and started. I'm someone who, despite struggling with depression, has a lot of energy that I need to burn off daily, otherwise I won't sleep well. But apparently, I needed to slow it down today, and this video helped me realize that.
Blessed Beloved Refresh Yogis! Yay Day 10 is so sweet. One of my other yoga 🧘🏾♀️ teachers always recommends yin ☯️ yoga b/c I need to slow 🐌 my roll. Well, I've been going full speed ahead for the past few days. This practice made my cells and organs happy and aided with some relief in my upper back. My husband and I were so sleepy 😴 last night we fell asleep on the couch, so I'm skipping my headstand practice today to focus on self-care and prep for an evening workout. Best wishes everyone! Refresh day 10, I'm headed into a longer than average work day and I feel pretty calm now. Since I struggle with daily anxiety so far this months calendar has been amazing for bringing me internal balance. I'm still learning how to engage these thoughts and feelings off the mat but the longe I stick with it I have confidence that I can do this and become the person I strive to be. Namaste 💙

I shed a few tears in the end.. but I felt so happy. Even though bad stuff happen sometimes, I know that I am strong on the inside. If I can take out time to care for myself and my body, I know that I'm a seeker for happiness and self love. Infact, I am love and happiness. They are all in me.

Hello Adriene! I’ve never commented before as I am quite shy but tonight I felt I wanted to share. I’m 19 and have been practising with you for a couple years now. I suffer from severe anxiety and depression, and have just recently gone through a break up. It’s been a very rough time for me, but you and your practices have given me light. This was the first time I have cried during practice, because I felt so proud of how far I have come mentally. Thankyou Adriene for giving me guidance! x

Am I the only one who felt this weird feeling in lower back when laying on burrito roll? Lol. I wouldn't say pain - but some type of discomfort because at the same time it felt soooo good for the rest of my spine.

Lea L yeah, I felt that too. I started thinking that, “Wow, I guess I’m really stiff back there.”
Yeah I definitely did! My muscles are so sore this morning! Taking these 15 minutes to just stretch them really helped!
I injured my lower back a couple months ago and I went with a physician that practiced Chinese traditional medicine, so there was acupuncture and massages and stuff. The feeling of discomfort yet rest during the taquito roll moment was exactly what I felt during my treatment so I can guess it is only the healing of all the tension we may have locked in there.

Refresh Day 10: Another favorite to remember! When I laid back on my blanket burrito I had the best cracks up my spine, it felt great.
Thank you! Needed this so much today! My hubby has Covid and taking care of him at home. Everything today felt like one step fwd and 14 steps back...was frantic and frenzied all day. Really needed to slow my roll and this did just that for me. I am feeling more centered and grounded now! 💖
Exercise in general keeps me active and healthy. But yoga, at the end of the day, keeps me grounded. It unifies all of the other activities, like a glue.

Intention : be empowered by slowing down
For people like me who have a tendency to overthink this is the best practice and the best reminder that slowing things down and keeping them light is essential to be empowered because the only thing we can control is our self. I am grateful for this wisdom that continuous practice help me understand.

Thank you, Adriene. I really needed this slow, restful practice today. Been having difficult relationship problems, some things are out of my control, and I didn't realize how much I needed something to ground my emotions & presence here today. I feel much better now that I have control of my breath & that I know I can get through anything with stillness, patience, and hope.
