@@TaviusPlays To be fair, she may be crazy in the lore but on the game she's pretty much the only guardian that has a proper understanding of the Hive and the Darkness, not to mention she helped us on multiple DLC's against hive and the one who could understand the Traveler chose Savathun even while Zavala was on denial

@@TaviusPlays Eris and Toland are crazy in lore but they are also the reason we didn't get completely freaking destroyed by Crota and Oryx.
On point.. the ones who are right in the head are those who understand they are batshit crazy.
Even though i started playing Destiny super late, i have noticed a few things..
1) Zavala has denied being nuts every once in a while.. but then he pretty much admits it once he came to terms with the loss of his loved ones.
2) Cayde knows that he was crazy and still gave zero fukks about it right to the end.
3) Eris portrays so well what so many of us suffer from, and yet she lives on with it like it was a synch.. because she chooses not to let it pin her down and fights it on with every ounce of her being

Oh dude Crota was the most rabid raid boss we’ve ever fought he was a straight crackhead in the first month and a straight up sociopathic serial killer in the first week of crotas end holy shit he didn’t go down from gjallarhorns. I mean it when I say it wasn’t easy beating him without everyone having Gjallarhorns, people were cruel in demanding entire raid teams to have Gjallarhorns but the reason why was ultimately because Crota was so glitchy he wouldn’t go down from 8 gjallarhorn rockets all the time dude, it took 12 or more normally in a short time to down him initially if not more because most hits didn’t even register actually despite the fact that crotas shields only needed like 6 gjallarhorn rockets to fully connect. He was 100% drugged and bloodthirsty, oryx and atheon were not like that nor was aksis, Crota was the most crackheaded raid boss ever he was an asshole, he chased people into the safe room and I think still does to this day rarely but randomly, I love how much personality and anger Crota has though he’s legitimately the most aggressive AI that’s ever been in destiny ever besides maybe the updated alak hul(basically they took crotas AI but made it even more enraged than Crota when he gets annoyed/enraged but with the light blades speed). Yeah Crota would scrap with Mike Tyson if he wasn’t a hive and would come after him even harder if he’d realize he legitimately wanted to fight and would start stabbing him bad man, Crota is an outstanding enemy even if he was derpy lol
@@peterdubinsky5389 I remember stuff like that lmao, it was annoying in the moment but my friends and me would always laugh afterwards. Especially if one of us died in a way that wouldn’t normally happen if the AI was working correctly. Good times, good times.
@@wolfeler166 he was legitimately a bloodthirsty boss even though he was so simple and derpy he just would randomly decide to break the game, my favorite was when he’d immediately aggro after his shield was broken and yeet the sword bearer and everyone would see that guy get smacked into the safe room wall and everyone would just freak out and he’d then proceed to kill everyone else who tried to pick up the slack immediately after too🤣, oh that was amazing when that happened because at least then it was him being a tough enemy who wasn’t taking crap and not just a glitchy tank. But seriously though hearing the Sherpa say “oh fuck” and just instantly die was one of the funniest things period in D1 against Crota, even if it sucked I mean just it happening out of nowhere was hysterical

I liked Clovis' idea of just blowing up the moon and replacing it with an orbiting singularity equal to the moon's mass so is not to disturb the Earth's tides.

@@TaviusPlays I was referring to Destiny 1. Though I do value and appreciate the majority of life improvements within D2. I have missed many seasons. I’m not able to keep up on it as much as I used to.
same here, doing vault of glass for the first time, fighting crota in the hellmouth, taking part in the prison of elders and destroying aksis archon prime... so many memories with my raid groups I miss it

The consensus is not what became the vanguard, the vanguard together with New Monarchy, Dead Orbit and Future War Culture formed the consensus. There was a 4th faction previously, forgot the name.
Concordat was the other faction. They basically tried to rebel, and after they were defeated FWC took their place. Also the Speaker was a part of the consensus as well
In his defense, the only people really left ARE the vanguard, so it’s safe to assume it’s just the vanguard

I've read the lore books and remember some details. Toland and Ariana were the only ones to make it to the end. Toland was a warlock who was a bit of a fanatic for the hive. To be honest the only reason he said yes into guiding the fire team into the hellmouth was for his own selfish reasons. Ariana driven by Revenge for her lover, and toland driven by addiction.
I could be a bit inaccurate with the specifics, but I believe it was one of the daughters of oryx who presented Toland a choice. Basically continue on with Arianna, or get the chance to walk the Ascendant plain forever and continue understanding more of what you always wish you knew. Needless to say Toland gave Ariana a big 🖕 and dipped. Which eventually left Ariana alone at the mercy of the hive Prince Crota. And he wasn't a Merciful Guy to say the least.
As much as I do hate what Toland did to Ariana, we wouldn't have understood the Ascendant Plain as well as we did or traversed it without Tolands guidance at the time. Edit: During the Dreaming City to be clear.
Heads up, the Vanguard is part of the Consensus, not the renamed consensus. Consensus was lead by the Speaker, and the vanguard was the city’s decency and guardian representation in the consensus

I remember playing through the entirety scarlet keep and the witch queen expansions and all I could think about was "eris morn skill issue" as I plowed through like a good 85% of the campaigns
And because seismic measurements during the ‘69 moon mission recorded that it “rang like a bell” after landing and other impacts, Bungie included the hollow moon theory in their lore but also, whenever you’re on the moon if you stand still and listen, you will hear a regular, long and clear bell ringing effect. Very cool.

It would be great to have stuff like this in game. “Oh crap!” Moments, like falling into the pit at the end of the Haunted Forest and seeing the immune knight for the first time

The Consensus and the Vanguard are separate entities.
The Consensus was the government of the Last City consisting of the Vanguard, the City factions (Dead Orbit, Future War Cult, etc.) and the Speaker.
With the Speaker dead, and thd Factions fleeing the city after the coup attempt from FWC, the Vanguard is now the defacto governing body of the Last City. (Ironically nearly fulfulling New Monarchy's wish of installing Zavala as a king.)
Fun fact, they are now the same exact thing, like you said, technically making his statement correct
It was crota himself who killed most of the guardians with his sword which crack the moon surface we can see in patrol.

Eris is traumatized, yes. Insane? No. And this video does not cover why, since her change came about after losing her ghost, seeing her fireteam die horribly and survive alone for years in the moon tunnels.

It’s also were the superstition of guardians should only attack things in groups of one or two fireteams which is kinda untrue because they thought just throw a lot of guardians at the hive and they would just go squish without doing any reconnaissance I mean it’s kinda of true cause small elite well armed and informed teams are really effective providing the same to about 3,000 guardians now we have experts and reconnaissance teams all over the sol system
The consensus isn’t the vanguard, it’s the conglomerate of all city factions. It includes them but is not exclusively them

The fotc and criptarchy are also there. It is led by the speaker. The consensus was like a goverment and the vanguard was a part of it. Not the same as it.
