I pronounce it like that too but for Chaol I read it as 'kale'.

There's a pronunciation guide in the bonus features of my copy, and Sarah says it's "Ce-lay-nah". Which I did think, but I still say it like Selena as that's somehow easier 😀

My favorite scene was at the last Test when Celaena was down and horribly injured and Chaol bent down by the ring and stuck out his hand, and kept telling Celaena to get up. I thought that was sweet.

My favorite scenes were A, when like Celaena's "monthly cycles" return and it's just hilarious. And the fight between that one guy, not cain, but another guy with celaena at the end. That was epic.

Lola Blake I legit predicted the ending at page 100, this was one of the worst plot lines I've ever read and I've never liked a character less than I like Celaena.

Recently finished The Assassin's Blade novellas and loved it. Now on Throne of Glass. Gonna marathon Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire.

I honestly can't picture Chaol and Celeana in a romantic relationship. They work better as friends then as a couple.
Samantha Gamgee yeah but the problem for me was that because they were such good friends I was having a really hard time picturing them in a romantic relationship. It's like Simon and Clary or Tessa and Jem.

I love looking back at book reviews about the first book in the series, and thinking AH yes. I remember the days when it was all so simple.
I think the best thing I've ever done in my life is reading The Assassin's Blade before Throne of Glass... And OMG I cried like a baby by the end of The Assassin's Blade I didn't know that Sam would end up that way.
But in Throne of Glass I expected that she could be more affected than that, that she would start searching for who betrayed her or at least I would know more about the psychological process that made her start feeling alive again :/ I mean how could she get over him that easily, but maybe that's why she's Adarlan's Assassin maybe she's strong like that... Honestly I didn't like the end of throne of Glass that much it was a little bit obvious.

yessssssssss. thank you! people who ship celena with chaol! everyone is like " I ship celena with Dorian" but I don't get it! it's not that I don't like Dorian, it's just that, when it comes down to it, I prefer the way celena and chaol interact to the way celena and Dorian interact.
I absolutely love how hyped you get in the reviews. The Throne of Glass series is by far my favorite series, and I am glad I am not alone in my enthusiasm and deep love for it!

The battle confused me too I couldn't imagine how the "arena" was laid out with the clock tower and wall while all confined in a chalk circle

That's one of the many reasons I love The Throne of Glass series because as you just said I love how it doesn't revolve or just focuses on the love triangle between Dorian, Celaena and Chaol. However, Sarah J Maas managed it to just add the precise spice of romance in the book, I mean it doesn't leave you unsatisfied whatsoever. Anyway I LOVED your book discussion, it got me fangirling during the entire video.

If you read Crown of Midnight, I think you'll really like the direction the story will be going and you're already used to the present time in the plot...
If you read Assassin's Blade, it takes two years before Throne of Glass, so it might feel weird reading about Celaena's past, and going back in time rather than forward with the plot BUT then you can read CoM and you'll understand and get more *feels* every time Celaena mentions something from her past, which is all explained in Assassin's Blade.

Sophie clonts 😂😂 It was originally supposed to be a 6 book series but Sarah just had to write so much of Chaol’s story in 5 days that it turned into a novel, not a novella 😂
This book was PERFECT! not only could Celeana kick butt, but she was so smart too! like she always made a weapon out of something, and she didn't go down the dark alley way with no light, she always tried to plan an escape route and I just loved reading her train of thought throughout this book! I know that it's all like Cain was the murderer but I feel like maybe the duke had some hand in it to. That in somehow was like a secret plot twist or maybe it develops more in the second book but the duke has something evil going there for sure.

I loved that Dorion brought her the candy that she ate 1/2 lb. of before breakfast and the puppy. Thought it was cute when they were coming up with a name for the dog--Fleetfoot and she sort of challenged his purebred dogs to a race. I cheered for Chaol when he showed his support for her by offering her his sword for the duels and then encouraging her to get up during the duel with Cain and finally taking care of Cain. Chaol is really solid and nice, thought she should have been more honest with him and told him what she found out about the murders. Dorion it seems has more in common, enjoyed when he came to visit her and they'd play chess, billiards, discuss books.
All the while I was pronouncing Chaol as Cole. Sorry Chaol. :)
Crown of Midnight is even more amazing. The Assassin's Blade was sooo good, too. After reading Crown of Midnight, you'll how much her past ties into the story and I love that The Assassin's Blade gives you a little snippet of it. Ahh have fun with these!

I just finished it, and really really loved it as well! I had the same worry as you, about reading it and hating it, but was pleasantly surprised. Can't wait to pick up the next one! Sarah J Maas will be doing a signing near me next month and I'm really hoping that I will be able to go!
I read throne of glass 4 times now and all i have to say for all those times that i read it was it never failed to bring me happiness and awe it was just so beautiful, of course my opinions changed everytime i reread it
