CHAOL&CELAENA will always be my OTP, I love them SO SO SO SO much. It was slow at first, but nevertheless I really got into it and it ended up being my favorite book of the series so far! I didn't really like Dorian until this book either, but trust me, HE GETS SO. MUCH. BETTER. His character develops into a more interesting plot-line, he's sassier, he's funnier, and now he's one of my favorite characters of the series! The scene with Dorian exposing himself to save Chaol absolutely DESTROYED me. This book was magnificent, and I loved it, and I can't wait to hear what you think of the next books! Loved your review!
Huh. Everybody says this is their least-favorite book in the series. For me, it's easily one of the best. Throne of Glass was good, but I loved book 2 so much more. Just all of the major beats in the plot of this book really sold it for me. Everything from Dorian's magic and Celaena and Chaol's relationship, all the way to Nehemia's death and the ending.... OH, the ending! I just loved it!
I'm reading HoF and I don't know how to feel about it because I know that Aelin and Rowan are gonna be a thing and it's ruining the experience for me because I don't like rowan

I completely agree with you about Dorian and disliking him but then he definitely grew on me by this book. I CANNOT wait for you to read Heir of Fire, the world and everything just becomes so much more amazing. Heir of Fire is such a turning point for the story where you get to explore other parts of the world and loads of new, amazing and badass characters. The book series really changes and goes from 0-100 real quick. Loving your hair by the way!! The length and colour suits you so much!
It is quite fascinating to go back through these videos (after Empire of Storms) and see how completely convoluted and changed everything became with each successive book. Sarah J Maas is the queen of PLOT TWISTS and SOUL-CRUSHING sadness and pain
All those "ma heart"s were basically me. I'm THE WORST at decisions so I love Chaol AND Dorian (I'm at chp 12 of hof btw). Yess OMG that plot twist with Archer and God that Grave guy. And OMG my sole was basically BROKEN after Nehimia died and Celeana was attacking Chaol and then Dorian omg my feels were EVERYWHERE. Where the plot is going is really exciting. I finished reading Crown of Midnight just last week..and it became one of my favourite Books till now..It gave me goosebumps at so many points and I absolutely loved this book..So much action,emotions,suspense.. Its a great book..And I love Sarah J Maas' writing style😊
I literally only finished this book an hour ago and i remembered that you had done a book talk so here I am!! I actually enjoyed this book far more than the first one, even from the beginning. And whilst I completely understand your love for Celeana and Chaol, I think I actually prefer Dorian, but I have no idea why!! I felt like you did about Nehemia, I never really liked her as she always came across a bit too shady, but I was actually heartbroken about her death?! And I'm really glad that Mort appeared in this book, I really enjoyed the humour that he brought too!!

I have to read heir of fire. Ive been having to read it since last year durring the winter break since thats when i finished crown of midnight. I like these books but they're not the best. Usually if a book leaves a strodng impact on me i remember it but i only rember the first on vaguely and crown of midnight not at all. So hopefully this series has more impact on me so I'll actully remember it.
Chaol loved Lilian. The perfect side of aelin-he doesn’t love her true self-that was the turning point for me. He, like Dorian said, can’t choose which parts of her to love and which to not.
One thing that killed me was that she mentioned that how Arrobyn Hamel isn't all that cruel like she tells him that she won't kill children or people from her home land. At first I thought it was cuz is her home land when actually she doesn't wanna kill her people I just thought like omg like why didn't I think of that
I DEF agree, this book started off really slow for me, however it didn't disinterest me, rather it was a reprieve. It was like we got a glance at normalcy and although I KNEW it wouldn't last, bc wherever Caelena is, drama is sure to follow lol, I reveled in the slowness. Plus it gave us more glimpses of Chaol and Caelena and romanticized their love affair. It was like when two best friends realize that they have feelings for each other --there is something swoon-worthy in that unexpected realization. So I loved that!! If you couldn't tell already, I am DEF TEAM CHAOL & CAELENA! When he put his arm around her waist *MY HEART* When they finally kissed *MY HEART* When she said his kiss "obliterated her" *MY HEART* When they finally had sex *MY HEART* When he went into the portal after her *MY HEART* --His love for her, ughhhh *MY HEART* I took it HARD when they broke up, my heart! I willed myself to continue reading only for the sheer hope that they would peace it up! And they kinda did, although I allowed myself to accept that there was no going back...... Anyway, I wish that Chaol, Dorian and Caelena would tell each other the ENTIRE truth!! So that they could conquer this thing together. They are definitely smarter together and each possess different strengths! This whole half truth situation is ANNOYING!! Dorian! I love Dorian. I think the fact that he loves books makes me love him. Or the fact that he is so DIFFERENT from his Dad and other royalty. I also think his unwavering love for Caelena attracts me to him, but I do think they are better as friends lol. #TeamChaolena When Nehemia died, man, I was heartbroken. Like damn! No words...although I 1/2 expected something was going to happen with her when she had that last convo with Queen Elena by herself. Again, I wish that her and Caelena were more honest with each other. When Caelena opened that portal, I was PISSED! Like I am so tired of hearing you say "I don't know" --if you don't know what you are doing then WHY are you messing around with ancient wyrdmarks that you don't understand! Archer!!! OMG he fooled Caelena way too many times! I was SO happy when he died! But when he revealed that he killed Nehemia!! **GASP** I was NOT expecting that! Like my jaw dropped! Soooo many sad scenes in COM We have Rena Goldsmith (who spent years trying to get invited into the palace of Adarlan just so that she could sing the songs of magic to show the king that they would keep fighting...even though she knew it would mean her death), Nehemia (Celaena's last words to her were, "Don't come crying to me when your people are lying dead around you."), the slave girl (this one was so sad...we didn't even learn her name), finding out that the slaves in Endovier and Calculla had all been killed, and the conductor and the orchestra that played the songs of every kingdom that a had slave in those mines...and finally Adarlan's song in morning of what they have become...like WOW Finally someone mentions Rena!!!!!!!
I am trash for Chaol and Caleana. I knew how she was after reading the first or second chapter of Throne of Glass, basicly the second it was mentioned that Terrisan had a royal family. What did surprise me though was how Fae she was, I thought that was cool. I wasn't surprised when Archer was the bad guy, I didn't see it coming necessarily but I wasn't surprised. I didn't trust him. I am currently reading The Assassin's Blade and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.
She still gets called Celaena in the next book. I still have no clue what to call her, hahaha. I thought Heir of Fire was the worst book in the series, immediately followed by Crown of Midnight. Waaaay too slow-paced for me. I also read ACOMAF before I read Heir of Fire and a male character in Heir of Fire felt like a Rhysand rip-off to me.

TAB, ToG, and CoM were really good. But everything after that sucks. I didn't like any of the new characters and relationships introduced, all the characters are so ooc, and I can't stand "Aelin". There was only one ship that kept me reading EoS.

Celena isn't an alias that's what she thinks her name is until rowan tells her that not true and it's not even until the end of the 3rd book that she goes my aelin
TAB, ToG, and CoM were really good. But everything after that sucks. I didn't like any of the new characters and relationships introduced, all the characters are so ooc, and I can't stand "Aelin". There was only one ship that kept me reading EoS.

Don't let my review stop you! Many people think that the books get better as they go along. But for me it was the opposite :)
