Please make a video about FOMO due to social media and loneliness whenever we try to quit social media By the way love your videos bro. You give the most practical pieces of advice ♥️
Hi Chi Currently, I am 20 years old male student pursuing a course in engineering and facing depression. I question why I am living my life like this-staying at home in the comfort of my bed, binge-watching UA-cam, procrastinating, and not studying for exams. I have tried everything, but I have failed miserably. It feels like every time I try to change-for instance, when I went to the gym for two weeks and woke up early every morning-I somehow stopped going. Even though I tried again, I failed miserably. It seems like my old self is trying to pull me back to a mediocre life, always addicted to porn. I don't know what to do. I am fed up with watching self-improvement videos. If you could provide me with advice, it would be greatly appreciated. 😢
I'm also going through the same situation right now my friend you're not alone For the past one week now that I've deleted my social media I have been more productive just learning and improving on my tech skills You're not alone my friend you can do it
Thanks brother for the support no matter what happens We will conquer this battle. I will never give up and will keep working on myself until the day I die.
It’s tough man. It feels like an endless cycle, but every time you fall off you learn something new about yourself. You have to give yourself a chance to think back and analyse where you went wrong so you can avoid it next time. Watch my previous video about taking things slowly. One step at a time brother. It’s just a phase, it won’t last forever. We’ve all been there bro, keep your head up.
Hello Chi, obviously it's none of my business and we don't know each other but I've watched a good deal of your videos and from what I understand, you feel you aren't entirely in a position to give advice to others due to your current situation. While there's some truth to this I do feel I and many others gain useful knowledge from your videos. Perhaps instead of viewing it as giving advice you view it as taking productive lessons you've recently gained from your life experiences and sharing how you took them as a lesson of life or how it persuaded you as you proceed on through your journey and how you can apply it to other ppl who go through something similar. Keep up the progress brother, Thankyou
"Everything in your life is entirely your fault". What are your thoughts on determinism sir? How much does environment and genetics matter? Do humans have free will? Are some things destined to be?
Very good questions. I'll say - I don't believe we have as much control as we think (i'm truly leaning towards hard determinism, which is too depressing to accept). Free will could possibly be an illusion, because everything that has ever happened, couldn't have happened any other way, giving us the illusion of choice. When I say "everything is your fault" I mean it in a Stoic sense. If you take responsibility for everything that happens, it empowers you and helps you take control of your situation (if that's even possible).
@@chiyinde I expected this answer, since you think very much like me and I agree (I think we could be very good friends haha). However I want to comment on 'the idea of not having free will being depressing' part. My girlfriend studies philosophy and she says she sees it as quite the opposite. She says it's very much relieving to know you can't control everything all the time... Like many of us want and try to do (this obsessive human nature can be frustrating too). Determinism can be conflicting if you think on a surface level: you could excuse yourself for not taking action by taking no responsibility at all: it's conflicting if you turn the script and tell each other (or yourself) you've no responsibilities anymore, cause everything is already determined. I personally will not deem it as an excuse, you still need to do as best as your abilities, environment, genes etc. allow you to... But it begs te question: how much of your choices have ACTUALLY truly YOUR choices, being there in your brain, developed by YOU? Personally I, just like everyone, would love to think I am making good choices for myself, not making excuses, being proactive, stepping away from bad habits like you describe in your video. I want to believe I am making those choices and doing something good, that would trick my brain into the feeling of staying proud, fueling further good patterns. It's a good a comforting thought, but to me determinism helps me understand others more as individuals within the system we live in. Now when I see drug addict I will see them as vulnerable to drug addiction (genes) and the environment definitely is a determining factor. Whereas first, I would write people off as them simply making bad CHOICES. These excuses people make for themselves might be a tell that their environment doesn't allow them to be productive or their brain wiring might not work sufficient in the world we live in. That's why I really liked the emphasis on reaching out to new environment as a tool for staying productive. I think everyone should strive to be productive and work on good habits. The potential, the effects and ease of achieving these goald, might just be determined already... Kudos to this vid man.
