It hurts my soul to see a poor brake caliper dangling by its brake line.
So bad dude it hurts
I literally bit my tounge.
cringe x10000
The feeling when you have it on top of something and then it falls lol. That's why I always zip tie them up now
I gasped when I saw it swinging, and then continuously gasped at every frame cut and still saw it dangling. Support that caliper or risk tearing/stretching your rubber lines.
Taylor, In order to get the e brake slack out. You have to take both wheels off and adjust both sides like drum brakes. I usually tighten and adjust them till they slide on snuggly but still turn. Then you can check the brake tension and make sure they are tight. If one side is loose, the loose side will be the side the center of the cable is loose from. Chevy trucks have drums identical to that. I usually have to install the horse shoe with a couple pry bars and work it on the caliper. The clip has to be on right in order to work properly. So adjust snugly, set the brake and see if you can turn the wheel. You might also be able to adjust them from a hole behind the rotor Sheild. But keep in mind if they are too tight. You will have to go through the hole with a pick and a flathead in order to release the tensioner and get the rotor off. I hope this helps. Also, I wonder if someone could figure out a mod to get the abs solenoid and motor to do a rear wheel lock similar to a e brake. I see alot of those bad modules on trucks and vans lock up and cause the brakes not to release until you remove the 4 bolts and take off the module. I had to tighten up the drums on my Camaro in order to get the brakes and e brake to work like new. I ended up tightening them and putting the wheels back on in the air with the car in drive to check them out. Drums do not self adjust like you expect them to. The only way to get them to work well is to adjust them by hand. The only ebrakes that self adjust are calipers. But you still have to screw them back in all the way and they work differently. I hope my advice helps you figure that e brake out. I always get meticulous about having a fully functioning e brake on any car I have with a manual transmission. I used to have a 5 speed Delorean with a broken e brake. It was frustrating because the cable hooked up to a link on the e brake inside the body. So you couldn't get to it well and the thing that held the 2 cables was bent so it would pop off at random when you used it. But finding the part along with the speedometer cable that was a plastic cap with a screw into a cable in the wheel. Were expensive and hard to find or replace. So good luck with that. The e brake in my 2001 corvette was similar to yours. Mine was a automatic so I never used the e brake to slide around. But when I had someone else in the car, he yanked on it like he was trying to snap a stick and it worked. So I imagine with some tightening and some yanking in a turn it should work. If it does, you should remove the brake spring and get one of those buttons to pull the knob to set the brake when it is up. Like people do in 240s. I had that setup on my 240 and it was alot better than holding the button down.
+Stealthy Wolf thanks for the advice!!! I lll have to give that a shot.
No problem, Your car is looking really good. Back in the day when we first got our corvette. I rember buying those "high powered" blue light bulbs on eBay for a headlight upgrade back in 2001. They made it seem brighter but it was actually worse at night and in the rain. The things lasted about 3 months before one burned out. So it was cool to see your led upgrade. I had a hid kit in my town car and a oem hid system in my friends Acura. But every time I hit a bump in my town car I would have to cycle the lights on and off to get the headlight back. And in my friends Acura tl if you turned the lights on, off and on too soon. The headlight would not turn back on untill it cooled down for about a minute or two. So after seeing your hid to led comparison. I am going to look into a led kit for the truck I just put together. I was also going to say, I don't know what size your new rims are. But the original rims were like 17 or 18 or 18 19 for the front and back. Did you go with same size rims for the front and back? I don't know what size and brand tires you have been using. But you should take note of the brand and size tires you are drifting with. Then write down how well they worked for you. That way you can keep note on what kind of new or used tire handles the best for you. I can definitely tell each time you change the tires how better or worse they handle for you. You probably want a harder rubber for the tires than a softer rubber. The oem tires were good year i think f1, runflats. They had a harder rubber but they are 1000.00+ for 2. I think the way it works is each tire manufacturer has a similar tread grip in almost all of their tires. So like bridgestone, michellin, and Good year have a tougher tread than say Yokohama, toyo, and falken. I couldn't believe how well you were whipping around dudes Mustang like it was nothing. I could tell he was just as impressed as I was with how you kept control of that car so well. So you are definitely good at what you do. The next thing you should look into for the corvette is a different sway bar for the rear end. I don't know what size would be better for the type of driving you do. But I can definitely tell that the rear end has some body roll. A bigger sway bar will give you more ability to control the rear end and bring it back. You can also do polyurethane Bushings to replace the old ones so the body does not swing between the rear end so much. I usually replace both front and back sway bar Bushings on any new car I buy. Just to make sure it is stable to drive and not easy to loose control. I fishtaled one of my cars into a light pole because the Bushings in the rear end were mixed with old and new ones. But as it goes with every car, one thing at a time and it gets better after each repair :)

DRIFTVETTE + angle kit + e brake = HYPE :D . Keep up the great work Taylor . Big love from Bulgaria .
TAYLOR! Put your brake disc on and THEN adjust the little tensioner through that hole in your disk by poking it with a flat screw driver. Works like that on my 200SX and feels like a hydro now!
FINALLY!!!! Someone please sponsor him so he can get more aggressive he is already a good driver, he just need a little more cash flow to make things happen faster
Nice comparison of the different headlights. good video as usual dude!
Nice meeting you man, glad you put the advice to use! The wheelies are looking better and better, soon it will be more comfortable being on the rear wheel than both ;) Keep it up homie
You inspire me so much Taylor I love your videos man I wish to be such a amazing self taught mechanic as yourself hopefully I'll be starting a s14 kouki build of my self.
love the update and excited to get back to wrenching
Hell yeah, time for a new vid. Glad you're back
+Leerseele missed you guys ❤
Auxbeam rocks! I've got everything from their 52 inch curved multi color/dimming/flashing light bar to led headlights for my jeep to the bulbs you put in you vette in my Denali.
this was a sick video, cars and a motovlog all in one
Florida's Finest!!! Kyle is a cool dude! Can't wait to see his Miata done.
you deserve more veiws than you have. keep up the great work Taylor
Taylor!! I saw you driving the vette yesterday around UCF, she is slammed and looking sick!
This video has lights so bright, it even enlightened my soul
my light bar on my jeep in an auxbeam and it has been great. it has condensation build up on the lens on the inside but it's still working. still happy with it
you caught my eye with that angle kit! I would love that kit for mine! I have been debating getting into drifting because of how easy the c5 is to handle. I'll be waiting for the test results! Im interested in both kits. easy swap out for a track day.
lsxc5corvette lsxc5corvette Watch Taylors newest video for preliminary testing results. If you want a kit contact me through the Delinquent industries page on Facebook.
Looks like there's an interesting week ahead! :D LEDs made a difference for sure.
Keep working hard
Yay car projects👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
ayy lamo, thanks for keeping it real taylor. I hope to get my build complete and come to an event in orlando soon :)
I luv ur vids taylor
hay taylor keep up the good work
When I move I hope to I get some awesome neighbors like yours, Taylor
Lol your poor neighbor... all them high beams through his windows xD
And not even the "fun" kind of high beams... Giggity
HYPE NEW VIDEO
try to pull the handbrake while reversing. normal drums auto adjust when you brake backing up.
lights look good taylor and where can i find a set of those jeep lights like fed's got cuz i need some for mine
For the auto tensioner to work you need to hold your normal brake down while lifting on your e brake repeatedly until it's tighter. My old car was the same way.
I'm a simple man, I see taylor corvette, I smash like :D
get those headlights for the miata too it will fit it's the same size and has the same plug
the ones for the Jeep
Jacob Shelton gingium has these on his rally build
Connor Kennedy I know, that's where I got the idea it looks great in my opinion
I Just Commented that lol
Jacob Shelton how do you know that gingium ?
your so awesome taylor
I got auxbeam lights on my silverado and I love them. I want to get them for my s13 also. That really needs led bulbs. I got the hella h4 conversion but halogens don't light up anything.
these vlogs where it's just you and the camera working on cars are my favorite, great vids Taylor. by the way should I get a bmw e36 for around $5000 as a daily/ occasional drift car?
soooo good!
i love watching the grom
nice video, love you :)
Taylor the jeep lights will fit in the mitas stock light fixture
sweet video
Great content, and love the vette! Wish you'd put some background tunes on your bike clips tho (y)
may be a dumb question but did you happen to release the ebrake before trying to remove the rotor? may be the reason why it was so difficult to remove if not. the brake shoe adjuster should be adjusted automatically over time as it is used. sometimes they seize up and just need a couple rotations and they are good to go.
Nice jeep FED!
hey taylor, what brand of headlights are those that you installed? im hunting the googler but cant find them!!!!
I'm not sure about the Tjs but on the JK wranglers those side halos also act as blinkers
Oooooo may have to pick up some led headlights
Your sick with that motorcycle! New subscriber here :)
+Maurice Dalaimo thanks man!
Is that black bearded guy logo at the end from the Beard Co. vape company?
Taylor Ray getting those wheelies up, not down
DON'T LET YOUR CALIPER HANGE BY THE LINE !!
You got the jeep lights gingium just put on the rally miata!
Greeeattt vid once again!!! Luh u
Your camera had something pretty serious against focusing when you shot this. That's always fun :)
I had a similar idea for knuckle relocation on my F-body! maybe I'll give your boy a call
any updates with the jag?
To tighten drum brakes, you can try braking hard while reversing
you should do the Auxbeam tail light too and some new tires
Those jeep lights looks great on Miata
@Taylor Ray is that jeep on the right of your drive way for sale?
When you realize that you and Taylor both have construct variants 🔥❤😂
I love the camera
are you planning to paint the vet taylor or wrap it??
The LEDs are actually real nice. How much were they if you don't mind me asking
Taylor, are you going to miatapolooza??
Did you have to use the error free kit on the corvette?
One of those bulbs is upside-down on your Corvette. They should both go up when you hit the high beam.
What's that gage underneath his protaper bars
POV your building a c5 and gotta go back 5 years to watch Taylor videos to get some pointers 🤣🤙🤙
Does the vette have the diff welded??
why dont you use that hydro that is sitting on top of the tool box
18:19 you have a hotspot because you have a HID bulb in a reflector housing that's causing glare and blinding everyone. If you guys like modifying so much then do a projector retrofit it'll look a lot better.
there is just something about miatas that you just want to work on them! Haha
Poland Garage because it's so easy to work on them!
Because they always brake :))
SumsaR lol they seem pretty reliable
Poland Garage Can confirm. Own a supercharged Miata on stock ECU. Just over 250K miles on stock block.
I've seen one do 400,000ks and still run. body was fucked tho
To make the e brake lock you need to adjust that nut on the drums so that they are only just not scrubbing and there should be about 5/6 clicks on the ebrake it's self
Taylor, why would you have your brake caliper hanging on the line? You might rip your line or something
If I remember correctly there is an adjustment behind the lever or back by the back of the center console. But the console has to be removed regardless.
where did you get the lights from?
What impact gun do you use
the two extra wires are for the half halos, one is for it to be yellow for a turn signal the other is for it to be white for a running/marker light.
Neihbors must've loved that light testing lol
i like that fed guy
YES
Lights before lockers?
''we're going to do a thorough stuff on the autobots weekend today we're going to be adjusting the hamrick on the corvette'' oh man i love the subtitles :DD
What does Fed do for living? Does he work on cars a garage to?
what happened to the jag????????
what kind of camera do you use??
need me some of those lights for my dc2
I'm trying to build my jeep up like his. Its a grand cherokee but that wrangler is goals.
Also you really shouldn't let the caliber dangle there like that from the brake line.
Those jeep light also fit your Miata
Those lights for the herb will literally go right into the Miata with no modifications seen in another vid and a couple of people I know have them to check it out Taylor ray
nelson todd gingium!
Might just have to do a duel rear brake caliber setup and set a handbrake up to the rear
Haha went right by my house doing wheelies on McCulloch.
You have to PUMP THE HANDLE TO GET IT TO AUTO ADJUST!! Do you know anything about Vettes bro?!
Alcatrazzzzzzzzz
the jeep ones city on miatas check out gingium's video on it
if you soak the ebrake shoes in oil for an hour it'll increase the friction level on the shoes and make them grab far better. hope you read this!
when you adjust the ebrake go in reverse then pull the ebrake
your neighbor was probably screaming in his/her house to turn off the head lights xD
remove the trims around your handbrake there should be a nut on the end of the cable to tighten the slack.
For the halo just splice it into the low beam wires. That's what I did. No problems
