Thanks for watching - this wasn’t the most stellar thing I’ve ever done in a video, but I truly appreciate any views it receives!! Next week, I’ll offer something better 🤔🤞😊
I am soooooo sorry about your Cat 🐈 passing away 😢 I hope you get comfort in knowing he is no longer sick and crossed the rainbow bridge.. sending you huge hugs 💜💜💜
Oh I'm so sorry, Cindy! I'm sure your kitty had the best life with you. Sometimes they come to visit us to let us know they are OK. My cat passed and I am CERTAIN I felt him jump up on my bed like he always did. We'll see them all again one day.
Thanks! She saw me through a LOT (divorce, loss of a parent, 5 house moves, 2 broken feet, 3 dogs, 3 other cats). Hopefully my last pup is showing her the ropes right now. 🐾🌈
Sorry to hear about your cat Cindy. Your cat will still be hanging out with you because you are its true home and you are its human. My dog still comes and gets on the bed and I can feel her little foot steps on the blankets. God bless you Cindy, and I love all your videos.
Thank you!!! There are some bubbles in this skull piece but they're very unobtrusive. I've had great luck using the KS Casting Resin in pours like this one -- it really seems to shed bubbles well as it sits.
I'm so sorry to hear about you cat! I have a 16 almost 17 year old girl here and I'm not looking forward to loosing her! Thank you for sharing and be safe 🙂
Thanks! I give most of the credit to the KS resin - I didn't do anything but spritz the very top with alcohol, and it worked out great! If I'd been a bit more attentive while pouring, I might have gotten even fewer bubbles.
So sorry about your kitty. We lost our dog to congestive heart failure after keeping her alive the past year with meds. Then she ended up with a huge cancerous tumor pressing against her heart and lungs. Now loving on our 18 y/o Russian blue who's nearly blind. Guess you gotta expect it...all part of loving them. Love the clear skull on the turning stand.
I'm a huge fan of yours. I can hear the heartache in your voice, my deepest condolences. I was actually searching UA-cam to see how to pour a square mold 8" by 8" by 3" deep. We just lost our dog of 11 years and I would like to put his collar and some momentous in this mold. Do I have to do layers, or can I pour all at once with this depth? Any suggestions or tutorials would be greatly appreciated 🙂
Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss! I lost my BF-dog in June of 2020, and I still haven't recovered at all... Loss of a pet is just gutting. I would get a good casting deep-depth resin for something like that so you don't have to do layers (which can end up showing the layer lines). Personally, I love KS Resin's Liquid Cast (www.ksresin.com/products/liquid-cast-deep-pour 5% discount with code "LuxSwirl"). It seems relatively thick as you mix it because it's a 1:1 ratio, but it gives up its bubbles so beautifully! There is also this Deep Pour Casting Resin from Amazon: amzn.to/3efen3z that takes much longer to set up, but is also mostly bubble free.
Thank you! I lost my very first dog to congestive heart failure, so when I got the diagnosis on my kitty, I thought we'd have a little more time because the meds can really help. But... didn't work out that way for her.
So sorry you lost your fur-baby. I can only imagine how devastating that must be. Ya know, I got into tumblers because of you and just laugh and laugh with all of your videos. Loving this channel as well! I always learn something new with each view.
I love all of them! That skull is super cool. 💀 I’m so sorry to hear about your kitty cat. We love our fur babies and it’s so hard when we lose them. Sending hugs your way. 🥰
Oh no, I'm so sorry. I lost my cat who was absolute baby and constant companion years ago at 8 to genetic kidney failure. I totally understand how it feels. Sending you a big huge hug.
For the skull, did you pour it all at once or did you layer it.. I don't want my mold ruined from excessive heat.. I see some layer the bigger pieces. Ty
I got 2 part epoxy for now.. I use it to coat my airbrushed lures but decided to get the skull mold and put one of my lures in his head. Kind of a showpiece for my lures.. was just curious..ty
first video of yours I've seen and I love your work. I'm so sorry to hear about your cat id love to see a photo of him or her! Do you have any videos of making silicone moulds? I need to make a brain mould and I have no idea where to start! but I love your positivity and how I feel like your my friend showing me a new craft or hobby. I hope you're doing ok :)
Thank you so much! And welcome to the channel 🥰 I’ve made a small, flat silicone mold before, but nothing more elaborate. I can recommend a UA-cam channel about silicone mold making if that would be any help.
Sorry for your baby crossing the rainbow bridge. I would and will feel the same way as my GSD Henry will be crossing soon. Just know that you will be reunited someday and the last act of kindness is sometimes the only option ❤️🐾🐾
I’m so sorry for your loss. My dog was diagnosed with CHF right before his 11th birthday and died a month later from it. I’m still hurting from his death.
The skull came out so beautifully. I love it. I don’t quite remember seeing the feather before, is it new or is my sleep deprivation making me forget? I’m so very sorry to hear about your cat. Sending you all the best vibes.
I've done some countertops but was looking at doing some casting pours. Do you have to put a release on the molds? Also what was in the dish while you were taking them out? Dish soup and water? I really liked the feather and the skull!
Thank you!! I don't think you have to use mold release, but my understanding is that not only does it help the cast piece come out more easily, but it also helps prolong the life of the mold. Once I've demolded something, I wash out the mold with warm water and a little dish soap, then when it's dry, I spray the mold release into it again and put it away till further use. This is infinitely more important with handmade molds like you might buy on Etsy, because they wear out quite quickly. The newest commercial molds (like what Let's Resin sells) that are white and extremely durable last a lot longer without any care at all, but still I try to keep them in good shape 😊 And, yes, someone who watched a much earlier video of mine suggested demolding in soapy water to make the process easier. I've also seen other folks use a spray bottle of soapy water and just spray it down the insides of the molds after first starting to pull back an edge, and that helps also.
@@FTWarr I'm sorry, I thought I'd left this reply already, but I don't see it now... so here's the affiliate link to what I use. It might seem a bit pricey but the cans will last a long, long time since just a little puff of spray is needed for each use. amzn.to/3WE74Dx
@Luxinda's Other Obsessions Okay thanks for the link. I saw a post on a river table site that said they used WD-40 silicone spray but I have been unable to find the post again and there are several different ones from wd-40.

I think the mold she used was homemade bc of the greenish blue teal like color of it but I may be wrong?!

I’m so sorry about your kitty. I just had to put down my 14 year old dog and my other dog is suffering as well. My question is people always say that you can’t pour more than 1/4 inch unless it’s deep pour resin, but I’ve been filling my skull up 1/2 way and things are fine. Was this deep pour resin you used or 1:1 resin?
Oh, I’m so sorry about your dog. 🌈🐾💔 I lost my best friend dog two years ago, and my heart is still shredded… Anyway, the resin I’ve been using for this skull mold and various similar sized sphere molds is KS Resin’s Liquid Cast Deep Pour. It’s rated for 2” but behaves perfectly in molds 5” deep. It is a 1:1 and it’s not super thin, but it amazingly gives up its bubbles better than any other casting resin I’ve tried. KS is having a sale for the rest of today, and the resin is always free shipping.
