Hey Monica, love watching you create. The reason the ink did that way is because it’s “watercolor”, not alcohol ink. It’s water based. Resin rejects it. I bought some by mistake because they were hanging right beside the alcohol inks. I won’t mention the brand because it’s actually a very good brand. God Bless.

I’m a guy who has a fascination in skulls. Your resin skulls are astonishingly creative! The rose skull turned out beautiful, and the blues in your blue skull are pretty sweet! I’ve been planning on getting epoxy resin skull molds myself for several projects I’m doing.

That skull with the Rose's is gorgeous and I like the pyramids. That necklace piece is beautiful and I love the rose paperweight at the end. I'm not crazy about the Aztec skull. I've seen some blue people before that were almost the same shade as those faces and they look very similar to the faces you have. Take care and stay safe from this virus. Doctors have ordered me to stay in. They even canceled an appointment I had. New Orleans has had a few deaths and Baton Rouge had a few reported cases. Love ya.............xxx 💗😊💗

Just some quick tips..always demold with gloves.the purple ink could have stained all the rest of your art..also when you put so many flowers in a mold , sqiurt alcohol 1st to stop the bubbles..it seems like you had the wrong ink for your resin.😊

oh I found this video!! YAY!! I now have the big shiny skull that listed up on my website. I love the roses you put inside it! I wanted to tell you there are types inks that are not compatible with resin. looks like you found one. I have had the same struggle in my learning curve. I love that you used the hexagon mold. How do you keep from getting bubbles in the resin when it’s poured into the mould?
How long did you wait to fill the rest of that rose skull? And is there a visible line? So cool!
I love the resin show. I put flowers in resin and found it looks better without the coloring, I try to use a small amount of glitter, not too much it will take over

Very nice Monica! Thanks for sharing! I have made a few small succulent pots with left over resin. They come out dull, the bottoms come out shiny. Not sure what’s going on. Any ideas?
Yes The mold itself has to be shiny for the resin to come out shinny ❤️

Love the roses in the skull. So many cool things you can do with resin. Do you have to pop the air bubbles when you do molds?

How did you keep air from getting trapped in the roses you inserted? I tried to cast a dafodil, bit got a big air bubble in the center.
Sometimes I get air bubbles and sometimes I don’t I do get a tongue depressor and press the resin in the flowers and I noticed that definitely helps thank you so much❤️❤️
This would be a beautiful idea for your wedding bouquet afterwards if you had a Victorian/ dark romantic style wedding.

Hey Monica would you be able to tell me if you sold the clear skull? I’m trying to get an idea of the cost vs the value, so any info in that regard would be appreciated.
Yes I sold the skull for the big one I sold it for $50 I saw the small ones for $20
Great video! I just made my first skull the other day but it came out cloudy, more white then clear :-(. Do you have any pointers?
Yes make sure you use the right resin because I use resin called liquid diamond from the epoxy resin store it doesn’t have any bubbles and doesn’t get cloudy when you mix it up I let it sit for a good 5 to 10 minutes and then I poured in my mold you have to also do it in steps you cannot fill the whole mold up at one time maybe an inch or two at a time. Thanks hope this helps ❤️
Thanks Monica 😊 I'll give that a try. BTW I've made a few of those large skull molds, if you use a sharp blade (razor blade) you can cut those molds about half way down the length of the face and the back of the skull. When you pour into the mold just make sure you use rubber bands to keep the mold together.

I just love making resin molds. You are so right about how it feels to unmold them. It’s so exciting. I was excited watching you. Lol Now those were big molds. Lol
Even on some of my small ones I will have someone grab either the resin or the mold and then we pull together slowly. Yes it’s a lot easier with a little help I found out. Lol
I’m sure you know but you can always pour over the purple one that keeps putting purple on your hands with more resin. It will also make it shiny of course you know that too LOL
I made some of those crystal shards that you did and they turned out very pretty. I use the same resin that you use also. I have found it to be perfect for everything I do.

That purple ink isn't ink :) ... It's resin pigment which is much more concentrated. Love the molds!

I have that exact same mold but been kinda scared to start my skulls cause its a deep pocket ...have you ever had a problem with the epoxy getting to hot ? I paid 70.00 for the mold and don't wanna mess it up .
Yes now I only do an inch at a time so it doesn’t heat up too much and ruin my mold ❤️

At what point in the process did you cut the large skull molds? Loved it so much, and subscribed.!!
Unfortunately when I was demolding it I had to cut it to get the skull out. I called the lady who made the mold for me and she said it was because I poured too much resin in at one time she said you have to do it in steps... A little resin at a time but that cure and then a little bit more live and learn right lol ❤️❤️
@@MonicaBarnesArt Thanks Monica. I ordered the skull and in the order form she said she could cut it if it was mentioned in the comment section of the order form, so I asked her to cut it for me. Could you please let me know how much resin was used in the entire large skull, so I'll know beforehand. I will do it in smaller layers as you suggested. Also the staysafe25 code La Kranch posted below for an order over $100 didn't work. Just FYI.

I get it from ... the epoxy resin store ...
Liquid diamond is the type I use for anything in a mold I also use general use resin for everything else thanks so much❤️❤️

Been resin casting professionally for 15+ years. Get some rubber bands to keep the molds closed. They're reusable and a lot less expensive than tape.

@@jinghuang6707 I've never actually done that. I would think the moisture in the flowers would mess with the resin. I'm thinking dried flowers or synthetic flowers would work better.
