    I love this mold. I need to try one like this! I tend to get bubbles on the back of the head at the base and the eyes. This turned out really cool! I've been doing clear with alcohol ink in this mold lately. I haven't tried any holographic inserts yet either.

    I was wondering since you pour in multiple layers & since the holographic is reusable could you pour it more shallow & place the film on it? I was wondering if it would give a more 3D layered look? Or would that work?

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  Рік тому +2

      Thank you, unfortunately no. It only works on the last layer. If you pour over it at all the holographic effect disappears because the holographic is actually a micro texture and pouring resin on it takes that holographic micro texture away

    Ive watched a ton of your videos using holographic inserts and I still don't understand how they work. Like how are they able to give the holo effect over and over?

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  2 роки тому

      Holographic is actually a micro texture. The silicone rubber takes on the micro texture from a diffraction grating sheet as it dries.
      Then your silicone mold is Holographic.
      Adding it to your resin Creations, the resin takes on the holographic micro texture from the silicone mold as it dries. Making your Creation holographic as well 🤗

    Great video, I haven’t started resin yet, getting all the moulds, resin tints and glitter together lol. I was wondering if you could after pouring the first half if you could add the holographic silicone then, remove, and pour the rest and use the silicone hologram again?

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks so much and thanks for watching 🤗 you are going to love working with resin you can do a lot of cool projects with it.
      To answer your question, that wouldn't work. You can not pour over the holographic layer at all or it will disappear. The holographic effect can only be added on the last layer.
      The holographic insert silicone mold is reusable over and over the holographic effect stays on the silicone mold.

    Very cool. I've just recently started making resin castings and I'm having issues with small bubbles. I've heard that the resin should be warm, like 70 degrees,
    to avoid this. Also, can I use a vacuum chamber, or will the resin begin to cure in there?

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  Рік тому +1

      Thank you and thanks for watching. To avoid bubbles completely you need a pressure pot.
      I don't use one, the resin I use has hardly any bubbles it's a 2 to 1 ratio casting resin. The temperature of the resin has nothing to do with bubbles its more about the viscosity of your resin.
      This is the resin I use if you want to check it out.

    Hi Tish!
    I just want to say that all of your videos, but *especially* this one and the purple glitter skull, are my absolute favorites! So much so that I now have two of the skull molds, the set of the Let's Resin transparent dye (love that Sky Blue!), and the set of holographic powders. I've already poured my first skull using the blue holographic powder and black-tinted resin (so sparkly!), and I'm now working on my second one, trying for the pretty clear blue. I also ordered the holographic insert from your link above, but I couldn't wait for it, I had to start pouring right away! 😄
    I do have a question, though - how many drops of the transparent dye did you use per 4 ounces of resin? I did four in mine (plus one drop of Brea Reese's Iridescent Liquid Glitter), but I was trying for the pretty blue color you have in this skull here.
    Thank you for all of your creations - I'm so glad I subscribed! ❤

      I'm not sure if that window film would work. I tried it on a crystal and couldn't get it to lay down flat without a ton of airbubbles. It's much thicker and less pliable than these silicone inserts.

    What is your favorite epoxy for molds??

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  2 роки тому +1

      It depends on what I'm making. I mostly use liquid diamonds for projects like this. But it's not good for thin projects like bookmarks, thin earring molds etc. It's a 2 to 1 ratio epoxy I also like the let's resin brand epoxy it's a 1 to 1 ratio and its good for thin applications but it has more bubbles than liquid diamonds. Liquid diamonds has no bubbles.

      This was liquid diamonds 2 to 1 ratio epoxy. LET'S RESIN epoxy would work as well. Just pour it in 3 layers like I did in this video.
