It's not as formal as in Reach where you actually get stunned for a second but it does happen. If you jump off the top of a moving scarab you often take damage when you land.
The "Giant Monitor" is a perfect example of how much work Bungie put into these games. They could have simply based that entity on the security camera and have it simply pivot like the camera does when it looks around. Instead, some artist(s) spent weeks (at least!) animating it so it would move around slightly when it focuses on objects. As a result, it shows up as a friendly contact on the motion tracker when it looks around. All that work just to add a bit more flavor to the level. Incredible.

You should check out the installation 04 map on halo reach, the one with the floating monitor in the one room, you can "swap" for its laser rifle (except you can't), would be interested to see what it's called in the game files and what the monitor version of the gun does. It's also super strange that they gave a fusion rifle to something that never attacks (as far as we know)

Forgive my nerdom, but this is fascinating. I've known some of the entity types Bungie made, but I did not know that they did this for the scenery and etc type entities. I'm guessing it was a lot of it was done to save time. I'm assuming, especially with the sandbox guardians acting as plasma cannons. Copy and pasting code is a million times faster than re-coding. Instead of wasting time creating new entities they just use everything under vehicles code. That is kind of amazing and genius. Doubt we'd ever see this innovation and time saving maneuvers (without affecting gameplay) from 343. Great videos and please keep it up. This is better than learning about parallel universes in Super Mario 64 😊

Now that very last Secret Vehicle to Drive was that Cut Turret Walker machine that he showcase in a previous video. It was functional vehicle but just the polygon model. Aside from all UNSC and Covenant Pilotable Ships.

I was wondering what happens when you assassinate someone without any visible knife and when u wear Emile's Kukri shoulder piece. Maybe there could be a secret assassination animation

The aa wraith glitch actually no longer works. In mcc it used to but now the driver is invincible and can only die by having the vehicle blow up.
