I called it. Sutekh was coming oh my parents were so wrong. They thought it was the trickster. I was screaming so loudly it woke up the whole neighbourhood
It was meh tbh, his big reveal was spoilt by himself and his overhyping of the episodes.
That was the worst part of the episode, still no idea who ruby’s mom is, the flux all over again with a complete cop out when we were promised answers, and as for the baddy, well laughable

“Especially the Prime Minister!” wasn’t so much of a Saxon callback to me as commentary on the current dumpster fire of British politics
Nah nah nah, “especially the Prime Minister” has more significance than that, I swear. Yes, they’re learning from previous mistakes with Harriet Jones and Harold Saxon, but I think it’s also linked to Kate’s line about “Evil genius with alien software? God knows we’ve stopped enough of them, except the obvious.” And Morris replies, “We’ll get him.”
There’s another dodgy Prime Minister in 2024, 100% guaranteed, and we’ll find out who it is next season. That part had me more intrigued than anything else in the episode! Could be the gold tooth and Saxon is back but I doubt it. I don’t think the Master would have the same face again. But I’m intrigued anyway.

UNIT's also a UN organisation, not a UK one - it's not beholden to the British government except by special arrangement (a separation the Brigadier asserted a few times).

I've no idea how so many people have missed this.
I laughed so hard when you said "They did get Sutekh." as if he was an expensive actor. Probably because I watched that classic home vedio easter egg about Sutekh's life after being casted in Doctor Who. I guess the DIsney budget did mean something pals, they had managed to get NPH and Jonathan Groff, but neither of these is as hard as clearing a time slot from the busy man that is Sutekh.

I think the 'apart from the obvious' is a cheeky reference to any irl tech billionaire pushing revolutionary tech you can think of. I think it's deliberately non-specific because it's just a gag.

I loved the episode. As Harriet was listing the Pantheon's members I was near-convinced it was the 3 Gods of Ragnarok returning...but the confirmation of Sutekh was 50% jaw dropping, 50% punch-the-air

Maybe "who is Ruby's mother" is the wrong question. Considering, like with the S Triad thing, it was presented right in our face. Maybe we should ask, "who is Ruby's father?" And with the sudden revelation of the Doctor not yet having the child that would be the parent of Susan. Maybe, the Doctor is Ruby's father?
They did mention that the Doctor’s children are unknown in this episode… you might be on to something
@@choomakesvideos Yea, I just felt like it was an odd line of dialogue. Considering, 10 mentioned he was a father at one point. But now 15 states he doesn't know who Susan's parents were. Then also, there's Jenny out there somewhere.
It seems like it might be a major plot.

Remember the “indigestion” sound and is referred to that on “The Impossible Planet”. There is a good chance they have retconned the Beast and Sutekh as the same entity. As Sutekh was originally just an alien. He was never originally that old.
All we know about Sutekh is what the Doctor and the Time Lords considered him. Sutekh and the Osirans could very have easily considered themselves gods.
I wasn't really keen on the reveal of Suhtek. I was perfectly fine with him being a one off villains from the 70's. That said I really enjoyed the parody of Apple and TEch Companies' which is what Susan Triad's presentation was ment to poke fun of. That was great.
Incredibly suspenseful finale kick off. That reveal man OMG. RTD is just killing it. Here’s my theory for how it all connects.
- The salt in Wild Blue Yonder (obvs) released the gods.
- Mrs Flood has been orchestrating the release of Sutekh.
- Ruby is the daughter of Sutekh and Susan Twist (hence god like powers of creating snow). When she enters the tardis, sutekh is able to latch on and break back into reality gradually.
- this is why the tardis has been crashing into places etc as it try’s to shake off Sutekh.
- In 73 yards, when everyone runs away after hearing about Ruby, it’s because they are being told that she is the daughter of Sutekh.
- Whilst the realisation of this truth may initially position Ruby as an antagonist, it could ultimately be her that saves the day by unlocking her god-like powers and defeating her father?
I love the way RTD is literally playing on our theories and sending us off course this season, who knows where we’ll end up next week 😅

I was taken out when Doped up Goofy appeared. Sutekh would of turned every single individual in that room to dust but being NuWho he just hugs the TARDIS and chuckles to himself 😂.

This episode was pure Gold.
When the Eighth Doctor regenerated in "Night of the Doctor" he mentioned all of his companions from the Big Finish Productions, which made those stories canon. In some of those stories he was with Susan, now he says that he never saw her again, so are the stories canon or not?
It's pretty impossible for them to have a proper doctor who "canon" you just have to kind of go with it at this point.
When Russel had Toymaker say “I made a jigsaw puzzle of your history” it was essentially his way of saying everything and nothing is canon. If there’s something you want to be canon? It is. If you don’t, it’s not. The Toymaker’s hinted meddling of the timelines opens up the doors for everything in extended who to be both true and false at the same time depending on the viewer
Personally Ive had to treat this season like Disney has.....it's a new series with a pick n choose canon. Even the themes are different
It's embracing the Fantasy elements far more than the science fiction and is very jarring. But I do have to say that this episode does have some decent intrigue to it.

I loved how this whole arc left people guessing af. I was camp „Sue Tech“, you were camp „S Triad = TARDIS“.
Both camps were right but one was a gigantic red herring. Even in the end when Saxons theme was playing, I was bracing myself for another misdirect.
I'm telling you now Ruby's mum is the key to not maybe deafting sutekh but to help shut him away. I genuinely didn't think sutekh was coming back because he's below the toy maker
A lot of people in the comments complain that there are too many mysteries going on at once. This made me wonder if they were all tied together. For instance, near the end of the pyramid of Mars Sutekh asks the Doctor to join up with him, but the Doctor refuses. And the Doctor left him pretty trapped forever at the end of that series. How did he get free? What if Sutekh got the Trickster to team up with him? I mean, the Trickster is the god of traps, and this episode is full of talk about traps. The 95% possibility constantly increasing. And the Trickster feeds on chaos....discord. And he also looks suspiciously like the figure who leaves Ruby at the church and later points a menacing finger at the doctor. If two, or even more of the old enemies teamed up to trap the Doctor, it would wrap everything neatly. And I just cant ignore all those references to traps when that was not Sutekh's thing. He was mind control and death. Just saying....
Wait if Sutekh has been around since the Wild Blue Yonder, does that mean The Doctor when he doubled his Tardis into two in the giggle, he doubled Sutekh as well?
Mention is made of the Toymaker, the Trickster, Maestro and even the Mara. Also spoken of is, "the father and the mother and the other". Is this refering to Ruby and both her parents? Ruby wants to know who her Mother is, but who her father is hasn't gotten a mention. Is Ruby "the Other"? Fantastic episode. Great review!
The father, mother and other likely refer to the gods of Ragnarok from the greatest show in the galaxy.

The Father - The Mother - The Other = this kinda aligns with My Triangle/ Triad theory 3 things coming together to make one = Sutekh.. 🔽👌
It’s actually so nice to hear someone review this episode favourably, so many “ reviews “ & videos I see are complains that the show is dead & woke lol rather than talking about how epic these adventures have been or how fun the characters are

Really enjoy all the little insights you give in your videos, like the Doctor's disgusted face when he talks about "someone's mum from Finetime". I also picked up some minor foreshadowing. There's a scene where Susan Triad says something like: "No rest for the wicked!" and she turns out to be possessed by a very wicked entity!
Yeah the fine details matter lol, it really enhances the storytelling to be honest.
This is my crap shoot theory, but I think that the Doctor saying that he met Susan before he met Susan's mother (that he hasn't had her yet, they're out of time) is a hint that Ruby IS Susan and that her mother is Jenny or another character who may be the Doctor's daughter or daughter-in-law. (Do we know if it's Susan's mother or father who is the Doctor's child?). Either that or Ruby is the Doctor's daughter to a currently unknown child. It's probably WAY off the mark, but that's just what i have so far
The alien they have not dealt with is The Doctor!

What if Susan is a Time Lord , but used a FOB Watch (similar to what the master did) to conceal the true time lord DNA?

I found your channel earlier this evening after I'd watched the episode and wanted to find a breakdown on it. This video hadn't dropped as yet. I watched several of your other videos and decided to follow your channel. I was thrilled to then get the notification about this video breakdown.
Thank you for the breakdown and for keeping track of all the questions this season has left to answer. Could the second TARDIS' appearance in the time recreation be the other half of the original one split in two by Gatwa's Doctor and left with Tennant's Doctor? Sutehk was wrapped around Gatwa's TARDIS, so Tennant's TARDIS might not be "sick". Those were just a couple of random thoughts in my head. ;)
Didn't the Doctor go to Ruby Road (or Ruby's suburb) at least twice? One when he met her and the second when he rescued her as a baby. I could be wrong, but I think that the TARDIS' second appearance may be because of this.
@Tia.H I'm not sure. You might be right. Was Gatwa's Doctor in the room, or did he hear then say there were two TARDIS there? I can't remember if he said anything when they realized there was a second TARDIS.

The image of the cborg Susan was in the trailer for this episode but they showed it at the beginning with the other images of Susan Twist throughout the series. I thought this image was going to come at the end of the episode so where did it come from? Also the only question we got answered really was about the one who waits being Sutekh. But the role of Susan Twist throughout the series, who Ruby's mum is, who Mrs Flood is remain unanswered?
We still have an hour long episode next week plenty of time to answer more questions 😅

Every point you are making is fair. Really wished they had this kind of development and momentum for the previous episodes. This did make me only wish for a more serious vibe to the doctor than a fabulous one. It just shows the personality isn’t the issue it’s just the development of the character.
Also we are still getting the “hesitation” from the doctor, can we just let him be confident rather happy go lucky. Feels like the script is feeding a lot of buzz feed words for no reason at time.
Is there two Suetekh? As the tardis was split in two at the end of the toymaker episode.

My thoughts:
I agree that the writing in this episode was good. I felt that no one was left out. The back and forth between characters was great. The tension and pace of the episode felt amazing.
I don't really have any downs with the episode yet. I'll probably have to rewatch to see.
Triad:
I liked the introduction of Triad, but I think that could have benefited from a few more mentions. We had a one-liner from Mel and a few posters. And that was about it apposed to some triangle set design stuff like the "Tri-Form" (which was awesome, loved it. A little on the nose, "only one shot at this," but still good)
Susan Twist:
Susan Twist absolutely smashed those roles; every episode, I was anticipating who she would be. I just loved every character she played.
However, I didn't completely like that Susan Triad was a puppet for Sutekh. It felt a little like waisted potential. The character idea would have fit better into the meddling monk messing with the timeline and the doctor. The whole "Susan" and Tardis anagram would have also worked better with this because it would have just been the monk getting under the doctors skin.
Mrs Flood:
I did like Mrs Flood's inclusion in the episode. And i did enjoy the smount we've seen her therought the season. Not too much, not too little. Maybe a bit too much on the little side. But that makes sense if it's a long-running mystery. And I'd love for her to be the Rani. The BBC did lose the rights to her, but now it seems they have her back. Because they wouldn't even be able to name drop her without consulting the people who own the character. And she did get mentioned in space babies. Why get the rights back if you're not going to bring her back.
The Pantheon:
I love the inclusion of the Pantheon in the main show. It was always my favourite concept; I always felt that it was a bit underused, being only mentioned in one-off episodes and spin-offs. And I am absolutely livid about the whole pantheon getting my name dropped in this episode. I don't even think my brain can process this at the moment. It's like I've been hit by a lore shockwave. It's amazing. I love this family of discord. I am waiting for future instalments into the Pantheon plot point. I can already see the number of fan-fims/fanficts getting made.
Don't even get me started on Sutekh. I love the creature that is wrapped around the tardis. It would have been better if we got to see more of the tardis making noises or maybe even hearing growling noises from the creature throughout the other episodes, hinting at the final episodes. But it was amazing. I am absolutely speechless from this episode.
The season as a whole so far:
I do, however, have a few downs on the season as a whole so far. I felt that there were a few pieces missing. I get that there were reduced episodes. But I think due to that, the season suffered a little. In episode two, it has been months since Ruby joined the tardis team. It felt a bit rushed, and it would have been a bit better if we got to see Ruby getting into the swing of it.
Some of the episodes did fall a tiny bit flat for me as well. I'm not completely sure about why. It wasn't the actors or the writing. I don't know. When the final episode comes out, I'll do a whole rewatch of the season.
I want to know what Sutekh’s relationship with Ruby or rather her mother, because they’ve been setting up Ruby as someone special, someone who’s mother can’t be identified so I think she is a daughter of a goddess. A Goddess that knows about Sutekh in some form and she hid Ruby away to protect her or Ruby is the one person who can stop Sutekh so Ruby’s mom had no choice but to abandon her daughter in order to set up the events in order for Ruby and the Doctor to stop Sutekh from destroying Earth. For all we know Ruby is Sutekh’s daughter and he wants to kill her and all of humanity. I think there’s something there, they wouldn’t have two separated stories in the same episode of the two part finale if they weren’t going to coalesce
I like how so far I've had the complete opposite view from everyone... boom, 73 yards and this were the highest rated episodes this season so far... while i was very whelmed by them...
While space babies, devils chord and rogue were the lowest rated ones, and so far they were the most fun for me...

I find it interesting that Ruby Sunday has a song hidden in here and oroduces snow against a sand blasting non Christian god. The calling out of the list of gods was fun.
I still think they've been building UNIT up as this massive force with all this tech, only for it to fall in this finale, and then the spin-off being about them rebuilding and having adventures on a smaller scale like in the 70s, as in one thing in a cave as opposed to a world threatening thing each time.

I've got a feeling Mrs Flood is actually Susan, she knows what a Tardis is, plus in the Christmas special she says she's not seen one (police box) on the streets in over 50 years..

she's a time lady, she has a watch like "the Ruth Doctor"
The first time Mrs flood sees the Tardis leave she drops her shopping and looks almost possessed. Mr flood could be Ruby's mum, Mrs flood is also the Tardis, sutekh is Rubys dad and that is why they were both there the night ruby was left. Mrs. Flood was hiding her from sutekhs and he plans to use Ruby somehow that's why she stayed close to Ruby. Also, I think the "S Triad" was a clue left by the Tardis to try and draw attention to what was happening.
Thinking on the Mrs flood situation. What if Sutekh ripped the Tardis consciousness out of the Tardis? Like that's why she can break the fourth wall and knows about the Tardis and Sutekh.
She does seem kinda evil so I'm not sure but the amount of questions and misleads this season has who knows 😂
Theory Ruby is Susan the doctors granddaughter and her mother is Jenny the clone from I think doctors daughter and just like dona passing the time lord energy to her daughter. The doctor passed the timeless child stuff to Jenny then to Ruby and that's where her snow stuff comes from. This is a very out there theory
the first appearance of Sutekh in dr who was the pyramid of mars the fourth dr, and the strange thing is RTD said a very failure face is returning, and we got Mel but Donna noble and David tenant maybe be returning because there are famillure faces to, but my theory for the last episode one it started with a bi generation that means a two way regeneration, and they said firstly triad and the dr meant tardis, but the word triad is also named as three people, so maybe Ncuti Gatwas dr and David tenants dr and with Sutekh appearance again that was by appearing first in the fourth dr run the third dr would be Tom Baker, is Matt Smith Dr he appeared as the curator maybe he still is?, so maybe he will appear again, we all know that To Baker is still alive he maybe retired and older nor bur I do not think his health will prevent him returning as the dr while he is alive, Tom Baker in one of his recent interview said he would be back in dr who as the dr or something he loved the part so maybe he will take the fourth dr part up again as another dr incarnation, maybe with Tom Baker retiring he knows it maybe his last what ever age the man is, so maybe they want to not kill the man but kill the characters incarnation the proper way bit the dr is not really dead, plus in ancient Egyptians or from that area I don`t know for sure are black people and they cast the 15 dr as a black male, if we check his bio we know Ncuti Gatwa is not really from Egypt but he might look the part, if you heard in a line in Matt Smiths dr he is precise on who he picks referring to RTD.
oh and we see snow in the scenes right? then we think its snow? but what if its is not snow it could be ash, and the person in the figured cloak was not pointing at the dr but pointing at sutekh he was clocked like the tardis where no one could see him in plain sight he was after Ruby Sunday thats why her mother left her daugter at a church, maybe Sutakh triked the mothere and the mothere had the child Ruby to Sutekh meaning shes half human half Sutekhs offspring and why she registers as human is because shes half human and the tardish was being controled by Sutekh himself made it seem so sick and thats why it made that noice when Rouge the bounty hunter appeared because it was Sutekh in the tardis and the tardis sensed it remember when RTD said it all comes back to the giggle the aniversialy special like the second episode the wild blue younder the monsters came from nothing, thise monsters were actually suttekh because if you remember the 4th dr defeted Sutekh and maybe Sutekh only existed and the edge of space where he was first banished from.

She looked so confused about it all; I think its more Sutekh has used her as a conduit and she is indeed related to the doctor, imagine a god that has the power of regeneration. I don't know what RTD is thinking by saying that the Doctor hasn't had kids yet but has a granddaughter. Ten specifically mentions to Donna that he's been a father in The Doctors Daughter. So RTD is forgetting stuff he's done as a showrunner, unless they're going to handwave it away with the Toymaker making a jigsaw of the Doctors history.
To be fair he can say hes been a father without actu8ally being one. Having a grandaughter logically means he has been a father. Just not yet

Ncuti felt slightly less inept, amidst allies, although the Doctor was stll the weakest part of the story.

Was a mess from start to finish for me and I have loved this season but trying to smash every single question into the episode was a mistake
They only really forced on 4/5 of all the questions and the rest remain to be answered next episode 😊

@@Deception975 if you mean john pertwees run. the real season 9 ran for 26 episides. if you mean capalidi's run which was the ninth season after it was revived ( since the bbc cancelled it despite episodes that got double Nucti's doctor viewers) it had 12 and Capaldi could actually act....and his run consistently got higher viewing figures with NO disney money and RTD desperately trying to push the goal posts by stretching viewing figures to 28 daysand STILL the figures were crap is woeful.Interesting to know that audience appreciation figures are available for other BBC programs and were available for every Who before this one but the BBC wont release them for this pile of poop cos they know its in double figures.... and on the Neilson figures for disney, it doesnt even appear and is beaten by Bluey- a cartoon the Beeb sold to disney along with Who as a buy one get who free deal. so even a kids cartoon gets more viewers.

The overnight viewing figures are irrelevant, doctor who is now a streaming show, and now that its 8 episodes in with this format.. more and more people are like i'll just catch up with it later.

2. Viewing figures for the overnight +7 days are now irrelevant to the shows success
3. +28 day Figueres for Space Babies (the most unliked episode of the season) is 5.6M
4. Episode 7 - There will be people waiting to watch P1&2 Together at cinemas also at home.
6. Some people are mad enough to keep the whole season for later in the year to watch in the winter months.
That's the thing with a streaming show.. viewing figures are no longer as simple as "overnight", "+7" and "+28"
S23-26 of Doctor Who - People literally had what 3-5 channels to pick from.. no internet no streaming services, no youtube.. just books, tv and outside.. obvs the figures are going to be completely different...
So it's not that "people don't like it" it's just that people's lives are different now.. so different we have choice, before it was watch it or miss it.. now we can watch it in 2 years time if we wanted to.
As for the cancellation.. we will have to wait and see but RTD is writing season 3 and I personally think the show is safe for now :)
