I always het a sense of nostalgia when looking at the videos these 'vintage' camcorders produce. I'm lucky to be a bit of a hoarder, and old enough to still have some of these cameras I bought new many years ago. I still get them out now and again.
I went on a bit of a collecting spending spree and bought many different models last year, all mostly in great condition. I have still been yet to take one outside to record though because they're a bit bulky and also a bit worried about some getting water damaged in the unpredictable british weather. Going to do a full haul video at some point though surely

My old CRT tv from 1979 have better audio than my brand new tv, old speakers and microphone had more bass also some worked with Cathode producing a really quick quality at high volume but really bad quality at low volume.
So yes it's indeed good :)

It's actually 480i. 720p can only be found on proffesional HDV camcorders made in the early-mid 2000s.

I have a DCR-TRV350. Pretty much one of the best Handycams ever made because you can digitize analog video onto Digital8 tapes or onto your computer without losing quality.

Recently found the camera that my grandfather gifted either to me or to my brother ages ago, totally loving it. The videos this camera makes turned out to look like Blair Witch Project. Sadly, no sound, but I can find the solution. It's flash is so bright that night sky becomes brighter in the photos

Nice video bro! I just got the same camera about 2 weeks ago, is there any setting I have to record in for it to look good when I convert it into digital ? When I record a video and play it back the video itself is small and the rest of the screen is blue ..
Thank you! Not that I’m aware of? Maybe double check your aspect ratio? I know mine is cropped on the sides and then I stretch it out in post. It’s only blue when I put the tape in

Hi, you only get copyright strikes once you start monetising your videos. For that you need a certain amount of subscribers and views. There are ways around it once you get to that point though with certain music subscriptions

Thank you! I used a digital to usb converter that I ordered off of Amazon. I connected the camera to the converter using the cable and screen recorded the video on my laptop

@@_matt_hammond_ do u need a cassete for this setup? ive seen people buy things that directly convert into an sd card using a screen capture device while filming. if u do need the cassete, do u just re use it after u upload a video to ur computer?
@@moosarahman yes I use a Hi8 cassette tape. I can re record over the tape as many times as I want. I just have to rewind it back:)
@@_matt_hammond_ i just got my sony hanycam its the trv740, but it doesnt have the lithium battery or the right size cassette or even a memory stick lol...do u know if u need a memory stick if ur using a cassette tape?

Using a filter won't be the same as using the real thing. The smooth framerate and optical zoom simply cannot be replicated with an app on a smartphone.
