I love this idea of playing with traditional quilt blocks and making them your own style I am currently doing a stash buster quilt and I have done some really strange blocks but all the same size. I have completed 96 of them and need 130 for the size quilt I want. The freedom of no pattern with this quilt has been very freeing. THANKS for this video.
Thank you so much for sharing. I’m going to suggest this with my retreat group. And we could also try an Ohio star.. I know I’m late to the party in discovering you and UA-cam for that matter, but I’m having so much fun watching, thank you.
You have just given me permission to experiment with so many 'traditional' designs. I thought that would be a no-no but it's just making them 'modern' ..... or as I like to think of it .... giving them a make-over, a facelift, some renovation. Thanks a million.
Thank you for a lovely day, reading and re-reading many of your videos! Love the walks in the forest, new ideas, hacks, and more. We're fairly snowed in and I'm tired of shoveling - enjoying your company is so much better! Many thanks from western Nebraska, USA. Yes, I've subscribed.
Hey everyone. Welcome to this month's block cotton challenge. Please don't hesitate to comment. Suggestions for the next block or video are always welcome.
In 1991, I took a beginning quilter class where we learned to make cardboard templates and how to hand piece. The churn dash was one of my first blocks. I made a small purse because on one block I stitched the row upside down and did not want to rip out the stitches. My daughter and now her granddaughters use the purse for secret treasures and I laugh at my beginner mistake.
First of all thank your videos, I look forward to them. My questions are - Have you worked with ties in your quilting? I am looking for (1) blocks using ties; (2) quilt pattern ideas and (3) how to prepare (deconstruct) the ties to use them.
I don't know why but this particular block makes me kind of nauseous. The geometry, the not-quite-a-cross with the diagonal corners makes me uneasy. So crazy how patterns affect the brain 😵
I love the one that gets squished in one corner and then enlarged in the other. Looks like a fish to me 🐠.
Great vid! No laundry was attempted 😂 Thanks for pointing this one out in the newsletter ☺️
Yes! A good Modern one! Churn dash
Interesting! Thanks, Karen love your walkibg dog, too🥰

I am just catching up with some of these ideas in your videos. I really liked this one! Gave me a lot of ideas on changing blocks.

So many possibilities Wow!! I'm not in your Guild, I don't live in your country, but you give me a lot of inspiration.
Betty van Os Play is fun...no matter what your age. 😊
Excellent video! I’m inspired by your creative wonkiness.
I have always wanted to make a quilt. Too many UFOs at the moment, but this gives me a great excuse to finish off those UFOs! :D
I've used this block with fussy cut squares in the middle.

I would love to try this but since I’m not in your Guild (I’m in USA in Texas) can’t get access.
Check my website...I have free patterns there

You have me hooked. Please would you be my neighbour?
Where are you located? I'm in Toronto
I want to see the wall hanging by your fireplace. Quilt or needlepoint?
