Love your videos, but I do have to disagree... I think Mustard is a bit much for a beginner and the downhills are a bit mellow for someone who likes steeper rides. To each his/her own.....I prefer the Luge loop in that area or many of the loops at Las Ramblas personally.
MTB MOR I understand where you’re coming from. I just feel this is the best loop for all skill levels. The Luge is for more of the intermediate to advanced rider. Thank you for your support and watching my vids. I really appreciate it. Stay safe! 💯🤙🏻
@@MTBLifestyle True True...While writing I struggled for a better loop. I guess I would say a Waterworks Loop would be my number one vote, but it is short. It's great to have so many good rides in the area. Last year, one of our friends sent her son on a Whiting Loop and I wish I had stopped her. I was picturing him stuck on Mustard and just turning around.
@@schism8286 My buddy who used to be my mentor in mountain biking always walks Mustard. It is a difficult climb that needs respect. I just put my head down and pedal. I try to keep my eyes on my front wheel after the first few turns.
I’m 3 miles away from Hulda return of the Jedi one of favorites also the Jedi I like climbing and those are some of the trails we are aloud to climb but I also enjoy the down hill tks for your videos
I was there this morning with friends and is beautiful, I've been to aliso creek trails twice and that was 3 yrs ago, this is my 3rd time in a bike trail and that hill killed me😂 but coming down is so worth it. Thinking about getting a good bike it might make it a lil eay🤷🏽♂️. Thanks for the video.
Great video!! Love the trail, but man, can Mustard be a bastard!!?? Did this route yesterday on my gravel bike and it killed me. Started losing speed and grip, so I got up off my saddle, lost traction and the rear tire slipped. Wasn't able to get back on and pedal so I walked it. The average grade is 11% with 18-21% the last 100 feet. Since I have a gravel bike, I go down the back of Four Corners onto Santiago Canyon Road and then do the leg burner coming back up Ridgeline past Cook's Corner to Concourse Park and onto Serrano Trail all the way to Toledo to Alton and then back out to Borrego entrance. Definitely MTB territory for the best results, LoL :)
Im in Portola Hills and Whiting is my daily. Looking for someone to ride with in Whiting. Please let me know. Ps: Don’t wanna get eaten by those mountain lions😂

MTB MOR I totally agree bro! 🤙🏻
Mustard is brutal even for someone who has ridden it a few times. I've had to walk up most of it several of the times

Nice flow and appears to be a fun ride. How long did the loop take you and what bike are you riding?
Thanks bro! The loop took almost 2 hrs. I ride a 2019 Giant Stance 2. It’s a great bike! 💯🤙🏻
Im in Portola Hills and Whiting is my daily. Looking for someone to ride with in Whiting. Please let me know. Ps: Don’t wanna get eaten by those mountain lions😂
I'm totally down to ride brotha! Are you able to ride during the week?
@RIDDIM00 No intrusion brotha! All are welcome to ride! 🤙🏻
@RIDDIM00 Wish I could, but I have to work.
Change the title, "Best MTB trail to get eaten by a mountain lion"
That’s hilarious! 😂😂 I wish I would’ve thought of that. 🤙🏻
That trail looks great, and nice riding!! Gotta love the idea of being eaten alive while on a bike ride eh?!!
Ricky Downhill - RDH Thanks bro! That sign freaks me out every time. 💯🤙🏻
We have big kitty's here. Probably better to just go home & stay off my beach.
