I remember running into you guys that day. My Girl and I were on a hike. 4:43. That bald guy with a camera... that was me. 😊 I’m famous now. Thanks for the video. Like always super fun.
What a great loop. Sooo much packed into a short ride. I didn't see any comments of people taking the higher line on Waterfall. I looked at it my first ever time down and haven't looked since. The annual pass for OC parks I believe it $50 or $80 if you add the OC Beaches.
Awesome video Alan! I went to Greer on Saturday and went down Underdrive and there is a New section there if you go down it. Maybe around halfway down there should be a split either left or right and on that trail, there is a lot of jumps, doubles, and a little bit of some steep stuff.
Too funny this is actually where I ride when I go to Santiago Oaks! Oaks is a great climb. Also, agree 100% on parking at Irvine Regional and supporting your local parks!
Nice work. Thanks for putting it together and promoting directional trails. It will help the trail system allow more users and keep the trails narrower. You mentioned riding the Left line on the Goat Rock sections, I have been riding cleaning for years, 10+. The inside line was recently cleaned up with a Jack hammer, so it's easy now. I guess someone thought Goat needed to be an intermediate trail instead of an advanced.
Right on. Have fun. Do know that right now (March '21) the portion of the Roadrunner Loop I showed is shut down but you can still take the route to the right.
I ride here all of the time and know these trails well. Everything said here is 99% true but a small warning to people riding in the oaks for the first time, as of mid 2022 the trails are extremely dry and loose so be careful it can get sketch real fast. Other than that the guide is super helpful to anyone who hopes to visit. Keep on being shred
Love the video Alan, the last ride I did was chutes and then had a nasty car accident. Keep it up and keep me motivated to help heal my fractured L1 and L2. I even bought the Punk Purple Scouts from Tasso. Since you had that Q&A with the founder of Tasco I’ve been collecting their rad apparel. I also got your T that is a play on the SC logo “Have a Rad Day on a bicycle”. Good quality and excellent videos. CHECK UR SAG!
Great video! Just what I needed. Taking the family on a road trip from Ga. to So Cal to see the in laws and will be in Yorba Linda for a week and was looking for places to ride and saw this on MTB Project. Great to see what it looks like and it looks awesome! I will have a week in the area in June and will probably be able to get three or four rides in. I do follow Tommy and will certainly be have a meal at his place! SoCal is so different from Georgia. We get steep and gnarly too, but the dry and loose rock will a new challenge for me since we don't have much of that here. I will check those links too. Don't know if I will get to hit a bike park or not while I'm in town, but I am going to get to spend a day in Angel Fire on the way out there. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. If I get to meet up with you when I'm out there, I'll buy you a beer to repay the favor.
@@mtb_alan that's an excellent attitude. If I were to ride a hiking trail here, then I would always expect to give way to the walker. Fortunately, the places I usually ride, it would be almost unheard of to see a walker, although it does happen from time to time.
I know you are joking, but a video pointing out which trails are off limits, which are questionable and which are dosented, (Because some folks like to combine their Laguna rides with a Bommer ride,) would be useful

And the Oak climb was about 15, but that was a with a couple breaks. And yeah...I def need to get back to Simi. It's a bit of a haul to get there though and would like to ride with somebody who knows the trails.
