Honestly, all the wolverine mechs are pretty nice. Pretty much the best medium mechs in the game in terms of a "medium mech that can either do a lot of damage or offer a surprisingly large amount of lifespan or if you play your cards right both" perspective. If only they had more of the tabletop variants with more evenly spread out weapons locations.
I've been binging Daily doses today. Its been so much fun. You can definitely see Baradul's playstyle come out in these mid-short range support builds.
Baradul doing a build on my fav medium mech? oh can't wait! Just finished the video, gah daymn the damage. while not quite the best poptart it does the job well enough, and the coms during the game was fantastic. it's making me wanna play the game again. I wanted to try a build with the hunchback and 2 binary lasers I made in table top but need to farm up some cbills first haha.
Which Hunchback were you planning to try this with? Sounds like an interesting build. Edit: I don't own a Hunchback, but I was intrigued by your comment so I went through the store to the Hunchback 4P and crafted this here; A2022:f0|:dpV0|`@|`@|b@qV0|i^|i^|i^rD0|i^|i^sD0|i^|i^tX0uX0v80|b@w:0:0:0 Light Ferro, XL 200 Engine, reduced armor in the arms and head, as well as a little rebalancing in the side and center torsos, two Binary lasers in the right torso and two medium X-Pulse lasers, one in the right torso and one in the head, and 7 double heat sinks spread between the right torso and arms. Since I don't own it, I can't speak for it's performance on the battlefield or how drastically access to the skill tree will change said performance, but from what I could tell in the test grounds, as long as you pace yourself while staying in formation with other mechs you shouldn't heat up too bad while being able to pump out high damage. Hope this helps, and that you have fun with it or something akin to it.
I run mine with a light 250, 2 jj, same weapons loadouts with 2t each ammo. Ammo is limited, but for the most part I run out of AC ammo but I chain fire the MRM's to conserve and I've only totally run out twice. Great teamwork on that 1st match.
I've been watching your content for a little while now and haven't seen too many videos on the Locust-1V, so I have a build I'd like to share with you to explore if you're interested, because I've been playing with it for weeks and weeks and always perform fairly well, and regardless on winning or loosing I always have fun with it. Endo-Steel, Light Ferro, XL160 engine, reduced armor in the arms and head for extra tonnage, 6 double heat sinks and a single Snub-Nose PPC in the center torso. With one of the quirks being Energy Cooldown -50%, putting max cooldown skills on top which equates to an additional almost -25%, you can cut the Snub-Nose PPC's cooldown from 4 seconds to a crazy 1.52 seconds, allowing you to dump out damage fast and often, even more so with additional heat and cooling skills. Here's the loadout and skill tree codes if you wish to look over them yourself, possibly find an area for improvement. Loadout: AZ1:20D0|2d|I@p@0|i^|i^|i^q@0|i^|i^|i^r00s00t@0u@0v50w404040 Skills: aff5fdfdf76dc7c560b08c1416c000000000000008066125b2fd774505000 I always go for a more humorous approach with my mech's nicknames, so with the Snub-Nose PPC being it's only armament, I christened thee "Short PeePee" XD
@@bigmaxporter It's also got -50% Laser Duration, so it'd probably be more reasonable and drop the velocity skills, dump them into laser duration and have either a Large or ER Large Laser with a leftover ton for another double heat sink, computer, probe or additional armor, OR drop a double heat sink and put in either a Large Pulse or Large X-Pulse Laser, but the thought of a Particle Projector Cannon just kinda jerry rigged to the nose of a 20 ton speed demon is too hilarious and oddly enough too effective to ignore. You can achieve the same 1.52 second cooldown on the Jenner-A, also having a -50% Energy Cooldown but being a little slower and a slightly bigger target but having jump jets and being able to mount any energy weapon since you don't have a slot limit of 2, and I had the same build on as the Locust here more or less only it had and ER PPC rather than a Snub-Nose, but that -99.99 laser cooldown makes it hard to put anything BUT a laser on it.
i'VE GOT A BONE TO PICK WITH YOU! YOU GOT ME ADDICTED TO MECHWARRIOR ONLINE! /jk I love your videos dude, I've just gotten started in Mechwarrior online so your build guides have been invaluable. I've done the vast majority of my damage with your recent BJ-1X build which has helped keep my confidence up whilst I get destroyed using my homebrew mech builds.
Do you think that if this was a VR test to apply for a position as a Mech pilot with all the running into objects and missing your shots that you would make the grade? In the simulation you can run full force and it's something but in reality if you ran your mech into something full force you're going to do significant damage. Not to mention if you're on Tom's making bad calls you compromise the company. Just something I've noticed with watching people play this game.
Not to mention some of the weird movements and jumps along with getting your Mech shot up and losing a leg you would be on the ground. So you think that your skills are good enough? Although I must say the death from above on the Orion would have been a significant blow. Water company Commander considered you to be a pilot?
In "reality", the 'Mech's targeting and tracking system would do the aiming - there is no pinpoint convergence in an actual 'Mech. Also, the 'Mech would be using his sense of balance through the neurohelmet, and he would have actual controls to tell the 'Mech exactly what he wants it to do. He would be sweating his butt off trying to keep the 'Mech from shutting down due to heat. MechWarrior Online (and all other 'Mech games) is an extremely poor representation of what the actual MechWarrior experience would be.
@@pseudonym5872 are you sure you can't lock your targeting computer into weapon convergence mode at the expense of extending your actuators outside of your front field of vision?
That first fight was wonderful: speed, firepower, teamwork. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for another great video!

The WVR-6R is my favorite mech in the tabletop game. I've always liked it (since the '90s). Thanks for sharing!

Why the obsession with the high ground in the 2nd map? You can get shot from every angle having no cover to fall back.
high ground is good ground
