@@SanjayC i think the AKG could have used a bit of a sibilance filtering to blend in better. but let me tell you, it sounded the most natural of the whole bunch. the AT sounds way overboosted in the highs (pretty much like the behringer b1), the neat sounds surprisingly flat and lifeless, the mxl sounds HORRIBLE to my ears (it's artificiality kills the deal for me... it feels as if it's boosted both low and high), the samson just sounds boxy and flat. the akg however, my god, what clarity. just listen to the acoustic guitar recordings. the body of the guitar really comes through well, while the resonance of the strings sparkle really nice without sounding artificial at all. i think i will order one now.
The tight/firm bass of the King Bee was beautiful. It was my favorite for the low end; the AKG was lovely for highs. Blending the two could be awesome. I use budget MXL condensers (990 and 2001) myself, so I might have found it boring since I deal with that frequency response on a majority of my vocals and acoustic instruments. I might have to pick up the Neat. Sounds like it could be a good complement to my MXLs. Which, speaking of - I believe the 2001 isn't made anymore, but you can get them used for *well* under $100. You're not going to mistake it for a U87, not on anything resembling a high-fidelity recording anyway; but in a world where you can't swing a mic cable without hitting an SM58, it's a lovely mic, if a bit sibilant at times.

Hi amireux, ik im not sanjay but these are just some of my suggestions, earlier in the year i recently got into production and making music, i use ableton and have the scarlett 2i2 and launchkey mini mk3 and its doing wonders for me, I am still saving for ableton live 10 suite and am stuck on lite so i cannot really develop full songs yet but I'm using this time to learn piano and more theory (i am a guitarist) its been the biggest learning curve so far but i think I'm starting to get the hang of it now. tip: avoid all of the stuff you don't need to start out with i.e a drum machine. your budget is quite limited like me so i would reccomend trying to focus on the main things you need. another useful tooll I've been using it splice.com, for only 8-10$ a month you get a thousands of samples and melodys which have really helped me as i cant afford many of the plugins or virtual instruments that are being used. Have fun and MTMYL, hope this helped
For Ableton, I like the Launchkey if you're going to use Session View in Ableton. Interface, my vote is tied between Komple Audio and Scarlett. Get the Beyer 770. Better versatility. On learning music, I've found that it takes time. you can learn all you want quickly, but time gives your ear a lot of experience. I don't think you can rush your ear. But...by learning quickly, you'll certainly be ahead of the rest. Do it...and best of luck!
I've just found your channel the past few weeks (looking to start recording loose ideas/covers/podcasts) and your vids have been SO helpful!!! I really appreciate the balance you bring to your reviews; showcasing each item in appropriate length, giving your honest opinion, and pointing out the good things you see in all of the products you see! Thanks for your help, and I'll be sure to point people I know towards you. Looking forward to watching vids for a long time :)
Hi, I just wanted to thank you, because I watch all your videos because you give me a lot of tips. Thanks for this and I just want to say that you have to continue with what you are doing and that you are really great! Thanks for everything. And BTW I am from belgium so people from al over the world are watching and are making music better because of you. Thanks a lot again.
King Bee sounded best to my ear on initial listening, and the Samson actually sounded pretty good on vocals. I’m suspecting my listening setup (Klipch + Denon AV in multichannel stereo mode) maybe adds some harshness and essing since my listening experience seemed to deviate quite a bit from the description of the mics you gave.
1 0r 5. AKG P220. That "sparkle" is the first thing to disappear when the mix gets converted, made into mp3, uploaded to whatever music website (which converts again), and played back through whatever earbuds, bluetooth box or home stereo the typical consumer uses.
Thank you for always giving us the content that literally everyone wants to know about ! So informative and it helps all of us choose our next gear. I am also thoroughly convinced that you win every argument with your lady, due to your soothing voice and well spoken verbiage 😂
😂 LOL! Yes! He definitely has a soothing voice! Well, we bareeeeely argue like maybe 1-2 a year and it’s not even about us, BUT, if there is a discussion- he definitely is a great listener! 😆
Sanjay promises, Sanjay delivers! Loved the review, I was so impressed with the MXL 770, I thought the best one was going to be the king bee, guess I was wrong. If it's not too much, would love to know your story, like how you started, what was/is your goal in music? Greetings to you and Dharti
Hi Sara! I started my UA-cam channel after 10 years of taking a break from music. I wanted to log my new journey somehow and I thought people may like to watch it. My channel is around 2 years old now and I love making these videos and helping people start their own music journey. I began learning piano when I was 5 years old and was classically trained for 15 years. After that, I took up songwriting. I love songwriting and arranging more than anything else. I don't care for singing, but I do so only because I need vocals on my songs :-D. My goal is to help one person with his/her music goal. Then learn more so I can help another. And then repeat for another. So I think I've met my goal already several times. But it will never end and that's fine with me. I have a regular 9-5 job. I wish I could put all my efforts into my channel. Maybe one day that will be a reality. I have so many songs in my head and little time to record them. One of my dreams is to record cinematic music for films. Another dream is to speak publicly (live) to people about music and UA-cam. I've done this a little by talking with high school kids. I love it and could do it forever. Thanks for asking these questions to get to know me. That's a really nice thing to do. So tell me about you. What's your story and what are your goals?
@@SanjayC Wow, it was so nice to read about your story and get to know you better. I also love cinematic music especially on solo piano 😍 I really wish you all the best and to be able to do the channel full time! You already help a lot of people, I'm sure a lot of us would be happy to hear your music!
@@saracossvargas2062 It's all too relatable Sara! I too come from a place where making a career out of a hobby is for people from the higher income section. I too am completely thankful for innovations and technologies that enable people like us to produce music for less money. I too have had song ideas in my head randomly, and I used to write it down, because I didn't have any equipment. I'm thankfully getting some gear now, and I hope to do something substantial with it. Keep doing what you do, I wish the best for you😊
I really liked the AKG p120 and the Samson C01! Definitively I'm going for that mics soon. Thanks for including vocal and guitar samples too, it really helps with the decision. By the way, I think that Dharti's poem is better than the one from Neruda, and I say it as a Chilean who is from the same city than Neruda. Thanks again for everything Sanjay!
Yes, I love that poem from her. So much movement and visual imagery. Neruda is one of my fav poets. I can't believe you live in the same city!! So cool!
@@SanjayC The world is so small! Amazing! I hope no bothering you, but talking about Neruda, have you ever heard about the chilean band "Los Jaivas"? They are a progressive rock band and they have songs which are made of Neruda's poems. If you have time please watch this video of one of their live performances. ( ua-cam.com/video/JCcVV9ZlI14/v-deo.html ) The song on 32:36 is from "The Highs of Machu Picchu". I'm happy to share something about chilean culture! =D
I really like your version of this cure classic, very vulnerable vocals...Kudos! Another great one, it's amazing that you can now get such a great mic at such a modest price
Thanks so much, Howard. They're one of my favorite bands of all time. I hesitate doing covers from my favorite artists, because I always feel I won't do them justice. So thanks for your kind words.
I guess I was late. Me and my friend were discussing about you and how you were the first youtuber to reply to his comment. BTW, Moog SIRIN looking good on ur desk.
I had requested this on instagram.... Thanks Sir for doing this... I was about to begin music production and was confused about microphones out there...🙂🙂🙂🙂🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Firstly I had thought of the Samson one becaise of the low price and good quality but Now I would go either with the AkG or the Audio Technica one they really sounded good to me.
It's 2023 and I'm looking for my first true condenser mic. Have only been using USB condenser mic since 2020 (BM700USB), now feels like the time to step up. And in my country, Samson C01 is around 30 bucks cheaper than AKG P120. Really love the look and sound quality of the P120, but for the price difference, I guess I'm gonna go with the C01. Thank you for the amazing video!
Hey Sanjay thanks for vid man was about to buy a mic and got the notification for this vid bought the AKGP120 mic and I love the vocals with this love from India
@@SanjayC All of them sound pretty good! The AT2020 and the P120 are my 2 favourites! The king bee tho... The design is really really cool! I loved the sound of it as well!
Hi Sanjay I just got the akg p120..... perfect microphone i like it for both guitar and vocals thanks for your advice!!!I wish you a happy new year by the way!!! Greetings from Greece!!!
I just bought AT2020 today and to be honest I liked it too in your test the most. Happy I bought it. Do I need to buy a shock mount and a pop filter for it? Thank you!
The MXL was the one that sounded best to me. I’d be interested in a comparison with the Rode NT1A as it’s a pretty popular bundle with it’s shock mount, pop filter and XLR cable.
Yeah, I wished I could've included it, but it was out of the price range. I've used it before and I like it, but I think I favor the AKG P220 from this video a bit.
Oh shoot! I'm late! But it's okay.... Thanks man! I've been wairing for this video for ages! Your reviews are the most honest and also coolest ones! Thanks soooooo much!
Ended up getting the AT2020 this week (Needed it for a voice-over ASAP, and they didn't have any AKG in stock) After this test, I do actually like the sound of the AKG a Tad more due to the better low end, but I thought it would be drastic, with a bit of EQ, it seems like I could get quite close. I was afraid there would be a large difference, But I think I do like how much quieter the AT2020 is too. Thanks for making this video, I don't regret my choice! I also noticed the AT2020 had a lot less sibilance, that made it sounds smoother for the spoken word, but it did take some detail away from the guitar that the AKG kept.
I actually did want to get the Audio Technica AT2020 but I'm gonna go for the Audio Technica AT2035 for my voice over work. AT2020 still sounds great though
My ears immediately noticed the smoothness of the MXL. So I'm gonna go with that one. Thank you for this comparison video it was very helpful!! I just subscribed as well!
Thanks for this, please do a review of the slightly pricier mics like the Stellar X2 Vintage large capsule and similar mics in the 250 to 350 dollar price range
Hello there. I have been watching your videos for the past few months now. I just wanted to let you know that you have been a great influence in my music equipment preferences. I had my family pick me up your two favorite mics in this shoot out for my studio. I had the same responses you did after listening to the samples. Thanks so much.
Woww... This is the videos we wanted.... SO much thanks to Sanjay C... :) My first instagram request now as video Huge effort and big salute for you....... :)
I'm digging into microphone reviews this summer, like many people, I'm sure. Thanks for the detailed video. I just wanted to say that you have a beautiful voice, Sanjay!
How would you compare the Rode Nt-USB with these mice? I have got one about two years ago and I can't find the difference listening to these ones! Although that cost me about $150!
Its incredible how awesome the sound of AKG Mics are, especially considering that they are relativly cheap. I, myself Have the AKG P220 and was shocked at how great the sound was. It immediatly gives off a Studio-style Quality and i highly recommend it.
The P120 was the clear star for me. I use the SM58 in my DJ rig, and it fills in fine for live singing when needed. A splash of effects from my A&H PX5 helps. My “studio” mic is the budget series PGA27 from Shure. Guitars sound great with it, but it hasn’t helped me dial in vocals yet. Obviously, many factors are involved; especially when my “live” performance voice through even the simplest PA sounds better to me and others than my “studio” voice. (Frustrated in Florida)
Hey Greg. The P120 was so surprisingly good to me. Honestly if you're going to get another mic, you should get the P220. It will probably be different enough from the rest of your collection.
Sanjay C Thanks Sanjay, I have several other Shure PGAs that shine for other functions, too. I suppose it’s time to invest in something else since I feel that I’ve exhausted presets and channel strip options. It may just be me. I haven’t captured the same vibe in a recording that I have singing live.
Providing a real world musical example changes everything. The best voice for voiceover is a totally different question than the best mic for singing, and the best mic for one voice isn’t the best for a different voice, VERY helpful. Plus your singing is beautiful. Great song choice! Well done!
Thanks so much i am looking into a mic and interface. first time self recorder. this helps greatly. your wife and you are blessed to bless others with these wonderful informative videos. your music and super nice vocals add that icing! happy new subbie!
Thanks ... This is a complete video I have bought AKG p120 1st of all raw voice vs after mixing, Next male vs female voice, Then light voice vs heavy, And ofcourse singing and guitar Lastly price & overall performance ... This video helps a lot to decide .... ❤️
MXL sounds a little over boosted in the very low midds which I do not think is possible to be tamed with an eq...for me the best result is coming from the AKG!!! :)
Can't go wrong with an AKG.. for me, that one was the best in this video. And for that price I'd just try it. Worst case - resell it on reverb for 30 bucks less.
Hi. In the past I've owned the more expensive condenser mics such as the Audio Technica AT4040 and also a AT2035. I currently own Samson C01 (XLR version not USB) and have had it for about 2 years. I use a small Wharfadale Connect 502 mixer to power it up and use Reaper to record it. It being a mid size diaphragm mic I wasn't sure what to expect but I did see quite a few favourable reviews on it so bought one. In using it I would say in a blind test this $100 mic sounds a lot more expensive then I first assumed. I did quite a lot of extensive testing on it by getting isolated voice tracks of famous songs from singers such as Freddy Mercury, Lou Graham etc. Once I EQ'ed the vocal track to match the singers I then cleaned up the my vocal track and popped it into the instrumental version of some of those singers songs and was very surprised at how good and clear it sounds in the mix. The sound was very professional!! (I know Freddy was using the AKG C414 which is an excellent mic but expensive but I found the C01 when EQ'ed was right up there). And that's the key......the EQ ing of the mic by testing it to an isolated vocal track (I used the Butch Vig vocal plugin for eq, compression and saturation). Its a bright and open sounding mic but very natural and doesn't color the sound which is great as you have more room to color and give it character in post. And it is not just cardioid but Super Cardioid. This a very important detail to consider because most of us are recording either in our bedroom or study room which is not the most ideal way. Because it rejects noise both from back and sides more then most condenser mics you get close to no external noise from your room. My office where I record vocals has no treatment except carpet and some curtains but being a mid size condensor and super cardioid it picks up very little around it except the front. Its one of the best mic for noise rejection!! There will be noise floor on the C01 if you turn up the gain on the mixer to a hotter level. However this is not necessary in this day and age of using a digital DAW (back in analog days that was more critical and important). In conclusion in my testing this mic it has a very natural open sound. Crisp but not harsh. In a blind test its on same level with far more expensive mics out there. And it is Super Cardioid which is important because most of us are recording in untreated rooms. 😃👍
@@SanjayC Pretty good, actually. It's small, compact and comes with a stand which allows me to use it anywhere. I'm most likely getting the Samson Mic if I do need one connected to my interface. Something that came to mind...check out Brusfri by Klevgrand. It's an AMAZING app and has saved me a lot of work in cleaning audio. Just like Gulfuss is your secret weapon, Brusfri is mine and it's on Mac OS and iOS as well.
@@SanjayC Actually...just watched the full video. Yeah, I'm getting the $149 one eventually. Since I already have the FIFINE mic, I'd want my next one to be a bit more premium. Plus it comes with a full case.

Hi Sanjay, and congratulations on your voice: very clear and musical. I am a podcaster, and I would like to know what you think about the Marantz Mpm 1000 microphone and if it is enough for good speech. A thousand thanks 🙏🎙️
I am a singer and having a non-treated room. Currently i use a USB condensor mic but it captures a lot of room noise(hissing sound) along with my vocals. Is this an issue with mic or because of mic? If, I plan to upgrade my mic to get rid of noise, is it a good thought? Which mic do you suggest from the list below: 1. Lewitt 240 Pro 2. AKG P120 or P220 3. Se Selectronics xA1
I chose the AT2020 some years ago (mainly because it was BLACK, and the opponents where the Samson C01, the Røde NT1a, and other silvery ones), as my entry studio mic, and still happy with it to be honest. Next mic?.. Maybe a bigger brother in the AT family? But for the moment, more than enough really. ;)
Bro you're singing is so good! Thank you for all the helpful videos, getting into all of this audio stuff has been extremely confusing but you're videos have been a huge help. I'm mostly going to be getting gear for live streaming games but you have definitely helped in making some choices on what to get.
Great mic comparison though one question, why did you record the guitars in mono? this is the main consideration I have for picking the right mic and I wanted to hear them in stereo
@@elzurixmusic Well if you record guitar in mono it will pan half to the left and the other half to the right. Which is exactly what would happen if you record it in stereo. For more information watch Joe Gilders video on stereo and mono.
@@setheinsteiner2980 Yeah I know the difference between mono and stereo, I just didn't know that mics are mono because I saw so many "Live Performances" that for some reason the guitar sounded stereo, now I assumed it was dry but I guess it was not, thanks for letting me know
Amazing video, please make more blind tests like this! I've always appreciated Behringer's price to performance ratio so I'd be interested to hear what the Behringer B-1 would sound like in this lineup but the MXL IMMEDIATELY stood out as my favorite. I might have to switch!

Mic 2 -- 1:54

Headphones: think I’ll go with Beyerdynamic, but undecided between 770 and 990 - both are £109 / $135. Will be recording vocals eventually, but also want to learn how to mix and master. Therefore, would buying both be useful? Could you recommend a mic amp to power 250 ohm versions?
⠀
Microphone: been overthinking the other gear a lot so this video will help with the mic options.
⠀
I live in an apartment with Mom. Can currently dedicate > 70 hours a week to learning/making music but that might drop to 35 hours per week in coming months. Want to learn things fast but also thoroughly. Would like to have high-quality songs released by end of year.
⠀
Sorry for the essay, I know you’re a busy man. Been watching you for a few months and your videos are top notch. Will be sure to buy some MTMYL merch asap. Any advice you can give is eternally appreciated. Thanks!
Trevor...wow thanks so much for the compliments and also referring people to me. That helps me a lot and you made my day!

Such a nice comment. Thank you for your kind words. I'm so happy to hear that I can help you in your music journey. I'm blessed. 🙏
The high end is what cuts in the mix. The AKG and the King Bee were my favorites.
Nice!
never disappointed on this channel! oh and i like the way set the mics to record i guess it helped you to save time.
Thank you Moise archipe!
I am also
thoroughly convinced that you win every argument with your lady, due to your soothing voice and well spoken verbiage 😂
😂 LOL! Yes! He definitely has a soothing voice! Well, we bareeeeely argue like maybe 1-2 a year and it’s not even about us, BUT, if there is a discussion- he definitely is a great listener! 😆
The mic placement can also bring out differences in the them
Love your vids man sooo niceee love from the netherlands
Thanks tobba! LOVE TO THE NETHERLANDS!
The MXL 770 sounded the best to me. Thank you for doing the comparison.
You're welcome! 🙏
@@SanjayC Thank you so much answering I really hope one day you make it
@@SanjayC Wow, it was so nice to read about your story and get to know you better.
Keep doing what you do, I wish the best for you😊
I'm impressed with the AKG P120. I'm going to get AKG P120 for my upgrade from Behringer C1.
You'll love them. One of my fav mics ever
I love my at2020, I recognized it right away, but I think to add mxl to my collection, love your videos from the Russia, thx!
Nice choice. I love the MXL too. Love to Russia!
The King Bee hand a lower noise floor than the at2020
Without a doubt I’ve just ordered the MXL 770. I can't wait to get to work on it
I really liked the AKG p120 and the Samson C01!
I was waiting for this one! Thx SC!! what a great channel you ve created!!
Awesome! Which one did you like best?
@@SanjayC Hard to say, I find there is less presence in your voice with the MXL, I wish could test them all, great vid my friend!!!
Thank you, yeah man you pulled it off.
You gotta test the TZ Audio Stellar X2 mic!!!

Thank you, what happened @0:55 that made you drop the SM58? Some say it could be good for songs.....🤔
I had requested this on instagram.... Thanks Sir for doing this... I was about to begin music production and was confused about microphones out there...🙂🙂🙂🙂🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Yes, I knew you needed this, my friend. Glad I could help you! Which one are you going to choose?
Glad to hear it!
Thank you, Sanjay, as always! And your voice is really really nice! Will listen more of your music soon!
Thank you Angelo Music!
Oh boy! Been waiting for this!
Finally here, Prasanna! Thanks for the patience. What do you think of the mics? How do you like the King Bee?
@@SanjayC All of them sound pretty good! The AT2020 and the P120 are my 2 favourites!
The king bee tho... The design is really really cool! I loved the sound of it as well!
Wow, you like the AT2020, huh? The silence on AT2020 was the best part. Good quality for sure
@@SanjayC Yeah! Especially for a 2004 mic! Still holding up well!
I’ve been grinding and saving up money to upgrade my studio so I’m binging a ton of your past videos as research 😂
Hi Sanjay I just got the akg p120..... perfect microphone i like it for both guitar and vocals thanks for your advice!!!I wish you a happy new year by the way!!! Greetings from Greece!!!
Happy new year! And love to Greece!
YOU dont want thee nt1a you want the nt1/

Thanks, Jovi. I'm glad you like them. :-D
Your comparison videos are the best. Just cleared all the doubts about the mics.
Thank you AV Musical Arts! I really appreciate that. Which one are you going to choose?
@@SanjayC I am gonna choose AKG. bcos i like it's sound and also it's design
Sound like a great choice! 😊👍
I actually did want to get the Audio Technica AT2020 but I'm gonna go for the Audio Technica AT2035 for my voice over work. AT2020 still sounds great though
yes, about the sibilance. I noticed that too. AT2020 is a solid mic. You'll use it forever even if you buy other mics in the future
Excellent content as always, thanks for doing this shoot out!!!
You're very welcome!
Coincidentally I was looking for cheap microphone, this video is much appreciated thanks.
Glad I could help!
This video was SO helpful. Thank you for putting in all those examples of the different mics. Not enough people do that. Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Bravo Sanjay! Love those vocals man. Really awesome voice. No answers needed. I got everything I needed from the video! Kudos
🙏🏼 you are too kind.
Am glad I returned the Sansom for the akg 😁
My ears immediately noticed the smoothness of the MXL. So I'm gonna go with that one. Thank you for this comparison video it was very helpful!! I just subscribed as well!
Good choice!
Thanks for this, please do a review of the slightly pricier mics like the Stellar X2 Vintage large capsule and similar mics in the 250 to 350 dollar price range
Great idea. I'll be accepting donations to buy the next round of mics. LOLOL!!
Hello there. I have been watching your videos for the past few months now. I just wanted to let you know that you have been a great influence in my music equipment preferences. I had my family pick me up your two favorite mics in this shoot out for my studio. I had the same responses you did after listening to the samples. Thanks so much.
That's so nice to hear. I'm so happy I could help you out
Woww... This is the videos we wanted.... SO much thanks to Sanjay C... :) My first instagram request now as video Huge effort and big salute for you....... :)
Yes prithvi! I'm here for you and my viewers. You help me make this channel better. Thanks buddy!
MXL 770 sounds smooth, AKG P120 sounds crisp.. they're both good to me
Came for the review, stayed for the voice and the song. Everything about this video is so satisfying... Continue helping us Sanjay C.
The NT-USB is a great mic. I like it a lot. I prefer XLR mics to USB ones simply because with an audio interface, you'll have more versatility.
@@SanjayC Definitely makes sense! Maybe my next upgrade!
Its incredible how awesome the sound of AKG Mics are, especially considering that they are relativly cheap.
I, myself Have the AKG P220 and was shocked at how great the sound was. It immediatly gives off a Studio-style Quality and i highly recommend it.
Yes, its a great time to be a musician! Good quality is relatively cheap
You are "Oh so cool!!"..Suave and excellent singer....loved your video
Thank you so much!!
I’ve just started watching your videos, they are so helpful. Well put together, organized and easy to understand.
Glad you like them! Thanks so much
you're the most wholesome music guy
Providing a real world musical example changes everything. The best voice for voiceover is a totally different question than the best mic for singing, and the best mic for one voice isn’t the best for a different voice, VERY helpful. Plus your singing is beautiful. Great song choice! Well done!
Love that track! Awesome work very catchy and melodic.
Thanks, Kalu! I appreciate the support!
@@SanjayC it's my favorite song from The Cure except for a forest, well done!

Great video of comparison Condensor mics ...Thanks Sir .
For Vocals
MXL -770 Or AKG P220
Sir Pls suggest ..
I prefer the AKG
@@SanjayC ok
MXL sounds a little over boosted in the very low midds which I do not think is possible to be tamed with an eq...for me the best result is coming from the AKG!!! :)
@@dimodimov7548 the p220 sounds great but is the p420 better?
Part of the notification squad. Watching even though I got the FIFINE Mic. Thanks, Sanjay for the weekly videos. Motivating myself to do the same.
Hi Seonn! Thanks for watching. One of these could be your next mic when you're ready to upgrade. How's the Fifine treating you?
@@SanjayC Pretty good, actually. It's small, compact and comes with a stand which allows me to use it anywhere. I'm most likely getting the Samson Mic if I do need one connected to my interface.

this was so damn helpful, i blind listened and i could tell which was the MXL every time, definitely grabbing one
I chose the AT2020 some years ago (mainly because it was BLACK, and the opponents where the Samson C01, the Røde NT1a, and other silvery ones), as my entry studio mic, and still happy with it to be honest. Next mic?.. Maybe a bigger brother in the AT family? But for the moment, more than enough really. ;)

Great mic comparison though one question, why did you record the guitars in mono? this is the main consideration I have for picking the right mic and I wanted to hear them in stereo
I only had one of each mic, so stereo recording wouldn't be possible unless I combined different mics. Couldn't afford to get two of each :-/
wait do you need 2 mics for stereo recording? I didn't know that, is there any other way to achieve that?
without spending I mean 100$ * 2
