Lisztomania or Liszt fever was the intense fan frenzy directed toward Hungarian composer Franz Liszt during his performances. This frenzy first occurred in Berlin in 1841 and the term was later coined by Heinrich Heine in a feuilleton he wrote on April 25, 1844, discussing the 1844 Parisian concert season. Lisztomania was characterized by intense levels of hysteria demonstrated by fans, akin to the treatment of celebrity musicians today - but in a time not known for such musical excitement. (Wiki)
Especially female listeners in the audience, an early case of sex appeal and Beatlemania. Unprecedented and shocking in 1841, although it was in the Romantic era. No media in those days, except newspapers and short articles like Heine's. So each outbreak transpired in one room or playhouse.
The creative lines of the bassist in the 2nd half are just unbelievable.
I was worried with this one because Phoenix is such a good band and this song is one of their best songs, but this cover is incredible. There were parts I even liked better.
I was worried, too, for the same reason. Turns out it is terrific.

At the very beginning (0:10) when Nick hides behind his bass while hitting one ringing note is hilarious. Such a good cover of one of my favourite songs!
Obviously they are great musicians, and the production is superb, but more than anything it's their joy that draws me to these videos. That's a scarce thing nowadays
