- Ever wanted to know how to line a bread pan or cake tin perfectly with one piece of folded baking paper? This video shows you how. No cutting, no leaks, you can line any pan with this method regardless of how moist your dough or batter are.
I have been using this method for a number of years, and it works brilliantly. I also have another video showing this same method (and it's a better video, if I'm honest) that shows the technique again in better lighting. I use this method to line cake pans and soap moulds. Please check out my other video here: • Make your own soap mou...

I used this method today to bake a Banana bread, and it worked beautifully. Thank you for the instructions.
Brilliant tip. Works perfectly. No more trying to get cakes/loaves, that have stuck to the sides, out of the tin. The little trick of leaving a couple of longer bits to lift the cake/loaf out the tin is genius as well.
Martin T - thank you :)
For 40 years I’ve been making our family’s traditional cakes, and fitting the paper in by jamming it with my fingers, and fist and curses too. (Hey, I’m a guy). This year I resolved to do better and I cruised various sites. Yours is the best and most practical for my purposes. Thank you so much for this kindness!
Thank you so much, you're very welcome!
OMGoodness I’m shocked 😳 how easy! I’ve spent so much money on every non stick spray and baking pans. Thank you 🙏🏻
One of the most useful videos I have watched in UA-cam. Thank you
What a great way to line the pan....as you say, no leakage around the corners. I'll be using this method from now on 👍👍
Love this method. I always come back to this. thank you!
This is great. Thank you so much for posting this. I really like that you don't cut the paper. It will probably take me a couple of times to perfect the process, but I am so glad to have found this!!
You're welcome.
Thank you so much! My pan is a little broken from one edge and your method made sure that nothing leaked. Bless you!
Fantastic! You're welcome.
I've never used paper to line a loaf pan, but I'll be sure to try this technique. Thank you for explaining it so well in the video. Best wishes from Canada. 😊
Thank you so much. What I do is lay the tray up side down and put the paper on top and fold from all sides. I was struggling with the corner folds. This helped so much as I want the parchment paper to act as a box so I could pack it to sell. 😊
Perfect! I used to do it the way you described as well. Thanks for your comment :)
Elly! That was wonderful! I would have never figured this out. But I shall put this excellent parchment paper method to use when my whole wheat bread dough is ready to go tomorrow morning--I prefer bread pans for this as I work with a higher hydration dough for such breads and don't want the dough to flatten out in the over. Again, quite excellent! Thank you!
Your technique is most effective and efficient! Thank you for sharing. :)
You are very welcome! Thank you.
Thank you for sharing! I'm going to try this on my fresh bread today.
EXCELLENT! Thanks so much for this. I just needed to see which way to do the folding.
Thank you, you're welcome!
Just tried it and it worked perfectly . Genius
Very nice and tidy. I am making a loaf tomorrow morning and will give it a go. Thank you.
Wow, this is genius! Thanks for sharing!
Love this method! Thank You for sharing
Wow! This blew me away!!! Thank you.
Ended up baking two loaves of bread on the weekend - once again your method is the bomb! (as the kids say)
Perfect in every way! ✂️💠 🔀
Brilliant!!
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking To be honest Elly, it's was a bit like wrestling a paper tiger for a while there. That baking paper is very slippery compared to origami paper :o
Sure is!
Thank you. I found your videos always informative and very helpful. God bless you🤗
Thank you so much :)
Bless your heart, that's absolutely brilliant. Much better than the way I just cram it in there.
Excellent! Just what I needed thank you so much
Exactly what i was looking for !!!! Thank you. : )
Thanks for this video, your method worked perfectly!!
Thanks Leslie!
Thank u through the video I was really struggling but then I got it!
Thanks, Elly! Brilliant!😊
Absolute best technique ever.. also gorgeous accent!!!
❤❤❤
Thank you!
Genuinely very helpful thank you!
Now thats what i call magic ! 🌟
I'm always searching for solutions that work for others and may work for me. So, thank you. I appreciate you. ❤
Thanks :)
I couldn't remember how I found channel originally, ironically I've just done it again😂, thanks Elly, so simple when you know how. 👍
Thanks Tony :)
👍Neat & practical way to line a tin!
Thank you!
Looks excellent! Will definitely try this.
It's the best method. I did a second video of this here ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html - it's a much better video!
Thank you so very much. Very nice presentation.
Excellent tutorial, thank you!
You're very welcome!
Genius. Love it. Thanks a ton
You're welcome, thank you!
fantastic! just what i needed! thank you!
You're welcome!
Looks great! Going to try it!
Awesome!
Elly’s don’t know if you will read this, but today I shared this with my 48 year old son and his wife. I owe my success with my sourdough bread to you. I think of you often with a smile on my face. My starter will be 7 years old this summer. 👍
That's wonderful Deborah. Thank you. 7 years! Well done.
Very cool and fully understandable. Thank You.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for sharing your brilliant idea! I am going to make a lemon drizzle tray bake tomorrow to take into work for a colleague's leaving cake. I won't have to buy any more expensive greaseproof tin liners! x
Kym Wallis - thanks! It's a great trick for sure :)
Good tips. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, you're welcome :)
You are a very clever and creative lady..ozzie ozzie oi oi..thank you
Hehe, thank you :)
Brilliant!
Your technique is best
Thank you :)
I can not thank you enough
Holy moly this is incredible
I do grazing boxes and line the boxes with wax paper and it always look horrible
After this it looks tip top
Thank you so incredibly much for sharing 🙏
You are very welcome Jenny, I'm happy to have helped you!
Yess!! Thank you so much I knew there had to be an easier way than just shoving it in 😂 (I’m used to aluminum foil if you can’t tell).
Haha, you're welcome!
Thanks! Success the first time. Origami for cake pans!
Very useful
Thank you. I wanted to bake a pound cake today. Yes trying to use words to describe the folding actions is too difficult. The video tells it all.
Thank you so much
Perfect, thanks
You're welcome :)
Origami for baking!! lol! Love it.
😂
Collapsing the folds 😁
Thank you so much!
Hey Thanks, this was really helpful
You're welcome Fergus :)
Genius!
Thanks! :)
Thanks so much for this video. It has just prevented a nervous breakdown (I'm not joking)
Aww, I can understand that. You're welcome :)
I tried this the first time I baked a loaf of gluten free banana bread and it worked great, nothing stuck and it was easy cleanup! I got a little confused after I folded all the corners and went to put it in the tin and was trying to figure out which way it went in but it gets easier after the first time you do it. 😁
Brilliant! Yes it takes a little bit of practice but you get it eventually :)
Genius!!!
Thank you!
Thank wonderful
Brilliant.
:)
Aussie is best!
You're making a pleat in the corners. :) That is brilliant!
YES!!! That's the word I was looking for!
LOL, glad I could help you for once. :)
Using this method for today’s banana cakes. Thank you so much! - from Spain
Brilliant!
Actually I tried a 2nd time and got it so practice is key 😁
Thanks, I hope you got my other video link in the other comment :)
Thanks you 👍
No problem 👍
👋 Hi everyone, I filmed a better version of this video here if you want to see it ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html It's for making liners for soap moulds, but is exactly the same process (and much better quality video!)
Tank you
You're welcome! :)
Love the concept and the folds, just way to long/slow. So I just sped it up to 2X.... Perfect and ty ma'am
Oh yes, I actually did another version of this video for soap makers ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html but it's probably a bit slow too! :)
This is brilliant. I call it reverse origami!
You’ve really got that down. I can’t wait to try it but something tells me it won’t go as smoothly when I’m doing it. Thanks for helping us all thumbs people!
You can do it! This video version might help too ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html
That is neat. My bread stuck to the pan so I came here. Thanks
You’re welcome 😊
Great idea! But watching in my iPhone and it’s hard to see with white paper on white table...had to replay the video a few times to get it.
Oh yes, I understand that.
A bit tricky for the first time but works brilliantly...origami bread pan liner
Maybe don't use a white table with white paper to show it tho. Lol
Yes, I did an update here. Much better video ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html
😂Great job repeating your white on white annoying obscurity. Really, don't you have anything to cover the table ?! Table cloth, bedsheets, Color wrapping paper, anything NON-white ?!!
How would you do this for a round? or a springform?
Great question. For a round it's not so easy. I just push the paper into the bottom and roughly fold/pleat the side parts as best as I can.
Awesome;, I want to give away banana bread for gifts and needed a solution to wrapping.
Can I use the paper more than once?
For baking it doesn't work too well a second time unfortunately. There are other uses where it can be re-used. It depends on the brand too, some would last better than others.
I like your accent 😊
Thanks :)
Where did u buy the cake pan
I don't remember, had it for many years! :)
Does anyone know of a video that shows this method in a dark surface? To make it actually visible? Help! Thank you! 🥺
Hi, sorry it's a terrible video! I made another version here if you want to see it ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html It's still on a white table but much better quality video. You should find it helpful :)
Sound on the video wasn't great hard to hear you could you please do the video again on how to line the cake Tin
Thank you
Patricia obrien 🇮🇪
Yes this is an old video. This one I made shows the same technique, much better video ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html
...end of line soups?
Eh?
the white table with white paper makes it difficult to see what's going on near the end
Here is another video - better footage, same method (I use for soap moulds too) ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking i worked away at it, it was the end part that was the most puzzling LOL
but thanks for the reply and the link
Tried it, ended up throwing tin across kitchen.
Oh no! This video is a better demonstration if you want to try again another day? It's worth getting it! ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html
It good but can't see wat u r doing
I know, sorry about that. You might prefer this one, it's a better video I did, same method ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking that video is white paper on white table, too.
I got the idea..but, yes..needed to watch a couple times, myself.
Thank you for both video's.
how to make something hard that is easy to do
That is a long way of doing it!
But it's a neat job!
incredibly complicated. there are MUCH easier ways to line the tin pan!
If so Dan, what are they?
The WHITE table with the WHITE paper doesn’t help the visual 😅
Yes I know. This is a better version of the method (still the white table though, but better lighting!) ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html
This seems overcomplicated
Yes it does, but it does a neat job!
Can’t see it properly against a white background… pity
Yes I know, it was not a great video. I have a better version here if you're interested ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html
No disrespect, but I have been to origami classes that were simpler than this. I can't see what you're doing in slow mo because your hands are over top. Now I have six sheets of folded apartments that don't fit LOL
Try this one, much better ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html
Nope sorry tried failed and left to find another vid
This is a better version of the same method ua-cam.com/video/7vU68RqnFEI/v-deo.html
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking I looked elsewhere but came back to yours and watched it on a bigger screen and got it in the end and just enjoyed a slice of banana, walnut and sultana cake. Thanks
Unnecessarily complicated 😂
Too complicated! Next please
