I helped the dealer dismantle that piece of cabinetry, it took us all morning and comes apart to about 100 or more pieces ! It had about 100 years of dust on top of it. I have a huge pale mahogany glazed bookcase from another Banque de France and it came in about 20 pieces. Many of the pieces were spectacular. They closed over 300 buildings over the years and more are still shutting down as now they do not need so much space for banking, what used to take a hundred employees can now be done with one person on a laptop ! One of the buildings I visited was like a chateau with huge marble fireplaces, over mantle mirrors and gorgeous chandeliers. One building was refurbished to house Ukrainian refugees!
A fun shop to spend time in. Loved the huge cabinet that Billy is going to think about for his kitchen. I like to think he will buy. And a ladder which would come in handy.
Ryan! Please don’t let Billy cut apart that piece from the bank!!! The ladder and rail are so elegant and he would really destroy the value. I know you can talk him out of it, your charm and smile can convince anyone!! 💕
The desks were beautiful, but likely a good idea to have a place to put them first. You don't want to be buying a house to fit your desk. Also, Billy might want to leave his Louis Vuitton baseball hat at home the next time he wants to negotiate a bargain! hahahah
That cabinet is amazing! Please don’t separate it, the ladder is wonderful for reaching the high cabinets. I think it would be a wonderful piece for the kitchen and the right scale.
I love that desk you liked, but Billy's right, wait until you have a safe place to put them. I'm glad to see that you and Billy are still friends, I was afraid since you moved out of the chateau that you had had a falling out. Now I fear it's due to your mother's health, and I am praying for a full recovery for your mom and I'm glad you are there spending time with her and your dad and generally helping make their lives a little easier. You are a great son and a generous one too.
YES, YES, YES to the cabinet for the kitchen. 👍🏼✅ It’s PERFECT! Looks like it would belong there. Please don’t make that kitchen Contemporary & modern. 😢 Keep the characteristics of the Convent. Love this shopping trip with the guys. Thank you for the New Year’s gift.
Ryan, I adore you. Your sense of humor, your kindness towards others, handsome AF. You are the whole package. Too bad such a long distance separates us.
I agree we will see that large piece of furniture in the convent kitchen at some point. Billy REALLY likes it and knows he will need larger pieces for the huge kitchen.
Ryan, Billy my darlings. I love going shopping with you guys for antiques. So many beautiful objects. I’m glad you feeling better Ryan. Well guys so glad to see back together again. Take care and stay safe 🍺🍺🎈🙏👍🌹😇❤️🕊🌈🇺🇸🌞🍾🥂Happy New Year. Both desk look very nice.
Billy did real well on his carriage clock. I was at an estate sale here in the states this summer and they had a collection of carriage clocks ( I don’t think any of them had their cases) but they went for more money - so I think he did very well. Happy New Year to all!!
Nice shopping trip fellows! I really want Billy to pick up that photo of the smiling soldier. The frame was gorgeous and the photo is lovely. Would look so good in one of the convent's guest rooms. The convent has WWII era history. This would fascinate any guest at the convent. @thepethericks
My grandfather had one of those little portable clocks on his mantle piece. It looked almost exactly the same as the one Billy bought. It brings back memories.
Hi Ryan! My goodness, y’all find some pretty things in these shops! Loved the big piece Billy was looking at and all I could think was how good it would look on that wall he took out! In any case, get measurements and go back! As for your desk, please sit down and see how they work for your height. A lot of antique desks are short for people today. Those two desks were pretty. Keep looking and dreaming- you’ll find your way soon!
You don’t need to sand down the drawers just take a hard piece of soap and rub on the edging of the top of the drawer and the bottom of the drawer and it will slide much better. Thank you
I think Billy should have bought the framed map and hung it in the convent offices and I think you should take him up on the offer of an apartment at the convent. Start your furniture collection while you live there. Buying and furnishing a house starting with nothing is expensive so get a head start in an apartment. Anyway - Happy Exciting New Year!
Best to wait until you have a place to put, though it's hard to pass up a deal when you see it. Billy, I only saw a top part of cabinet, but I think if you compare the big bank cabinets to what new cabinets costs, that one is well worth the 4k. Usually built better too & being from a bank, I would imagine not a lot of wear. I think a mix can be done, some painted or all to bring together, a little bit of stainless prep top or cart & marble for prep top for baking. The big country table. Buy old cabinets if you need more to fill walls. Old cutting board, unless you make one. Copper pans & cast iron.
Antique shopping! And I'm here and you're there. Thanks for giving some prices. I couldn't afford it even if I was there but I can drool anyway. That big cupboard.... YES! I collect maps! And I really like carpets.
All of the furniture for the Banque de France was made specially by top 'ebenists' in Paris from the 1900's onwards and are all numbered somewhere on each piece. This desk would have been made by the same company. The factory was situated in the St Antoine area of Paris that used to be all furniture makers, bronze makersn gilders and generally everything you needed for the profession. Sadly they are mostly all gone;
My desk came from this shop, he drove 8 hours to deliver it to me and it weighs a ton, each drawer is very heavy in itself. It is all panelled in 'linenfold' design, I am currently restoring it. He has some incredible things, most of my best things came from him and he still brings me stuff, recently a small chinoiserie laquer desk and about 20 Indien and Chinese miniature paintings. He is such a lovely man when you get to know him.
😍Always love a bit of brocante-ing! 💕💕 The 1st desk was really nice!! Ryan, you looked very posh with your LV man-bag😉💖 🎊🥂🍾Heres to a healthy & prosperous 2023!!
Ryan Get the desk put it in your Room at the Convent before you get your own house, You'll be sad if it sells before you can get your own home. I am sure Billy won't mind. The clock is nice good buy Billy. I enjoy going along with you two on your Antique shopping adventures. Happy New Year!
The first desk is a solid investment. Wiggle that price down if you can and simply wrap and tape the glass well to the desk for moving. It's a great desk!
The desk is beautiful... The glass top is worth taking a risk with as it isn't an importance part of the part of the desk if broken, meaning that you can still use it if it got broken. And I think Billy should buy that large unit from the bank. Like the Libary, he could split up and use it around other parts of the convent it he found it too much in the kitchen, but I'm sure it wouldn't come to that. The kitchen needs a bold statement piece like this and he may also want to buy other bit of units the shop has to match. Buying all of these thing together you may also be able to negotiate a discount
I really like the first desk! I have a desk that is covered by a piece of glass, which I have successfully moved across the country twice. The glass isn’t the valuable bit anyway, so if it breaks it is not really an issue. Don’t you have a new office at the convent? 😉 Also, I knew the hunt for a kitchen “hutch” for the convent was going to be fun!
The last thing I saw was you helping your Dad , Ryan so , you must have gotten sick shortly after that . A shame your health didn't last through your visit , glad you're doing better . Billy has been so limited in his travels , having sold his car .
I've missed the dynamic duo and the antique shopping. Glad you're feeling better and are back with us. Happy New Year to you and your family!!!🔔🥂🍾🎉🎊🎇🎆🙏❤️
Billy is the voice of reason. Ryan you have such a great, cheerful personality but I agree with Billy. Don’t buy the desk without having a proper place for it. Fun video as always, and wishing you and your parents a very happy new year. xx
I wish I could go to that antique shop! I loved that dust pan on top of the last desk. Also it's great that you guys both document your friendship on YT. It's great to see two men who are close friends, bonding over antiques and old buildings, helping each other out, etc. I'm sure you have more personal conversations off camera and it's understandable that you don't share those, but it's great to see what you do share.
That €400 desk is well worth it, if you can find a place for it. It is wonderful. But, if not, it will probably not sell that quickly, but Billy makes an important point: find your place, which due to budget constraints will be a place that needs a lot of work done. Buy that first. I am pretty sure your followers on here and elsewhere will help you buy the desk due to that. Happy New Year, Ryan. I wish you health, wealth and happiness in 2023 and beyond, and always.
I liked both desks and the prices were good. It will be nice when you have a place because I know you will set it up nicely with good pieces of furniture. I loved the cabinets Billy was looking at and divided in two it would look good on either side of the fireplace. I sent Billy a kitchen plan with that in mind. Again it was a great price.
That cabinet is beautiful and like billy says not many places big enough to accommodate it, I love how he considers his purchases and waits until he is sure it’s right for the area he’s thinking of.
Buy it! Buy it! Buy it! Haha. Sorry I'm a lover of beautiful desks like the first one you liked. I'm sure you would find somewhere for it until you buy your house. How many times have you gone back to look at it Ryan? Next time it could be yours. X
The second desk looked more French. It just had more character. The first just looked like a business desk with more storage than the second. Love the antique shopping vids.
Thank you Ryan for this last year video, love your brocante trips with Billy. Wishing you the best for 2023…and hope we see more of you. You are the best. And thank you.
Was lovely going shopping with you I love antiques and the desks were beautiful , always go by gut instinct Ryan xx never have regrets even over a desk x
Great vlog Ryan. You and Billy need to take a bit of room in the Convent and make an Antique Shop. I think you would be great at it, Sadie and Mo could run it while you and Billy make trips all over France to buy antiques for the shop. I would love to see that.
Happy New Year, Ryan!! Always fun spending time with you and Billy. Thanks for taking us along. I REALLY love the first desk, and I personally think it would look amazing in your new office at the convent. I think it would look really pretty if you placed the desk in the room where your back was facing the wall when you sat down at it, so people would see your adorable face when they entered the room. You would look so very professional and ready to get down to business sitting at that desk, Ryan. I think you should buy it. You just need some chairs to go with it and some wall art and you would be set. I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family. Lots of love and hugs to you, buddy. Really looking forward to seeing you busy being happy in the new year. Cheers!!! 😘💕
Hi Ryan! I love to see you and Billy together. You are so fun and make these videos very enjoyable. About the desk you really liked, I loved it too, and I was thinking you can put it at the convent “ in your own office” . You can work in this beautiful desk and enjoy it, and have it safe at the convent , and when you get your own place, you just take it with you Ryan . I think this is a good idea, what do you think about it Ryan? Happy new year!! And blessings for you and your family in 2023!🎉🎉🎉
I hope that the prices of these antiques are negotiable. I know I would always ask for a lower price than what they are asking. Happy to see you and Billy and I will wish both a great day on the last day of 2022
I have done the same, trying to start the car when it's not in park. Quite embarassing. Yes, the first desk was great, but you need to know where to put it. Billy could see the large cabinet in the convent kitchen, but hopefully it will still be there when the time is right. You both make me smile, even when it's raining. I've missed your videos. It must be Billy holding the camera during the week.
wow Prices for the stuff you and Billy were looking at are so high. In Canada we can find tons of desks for a lot lower prices. I think the Antique dealers need to mark them up to keep up with their expenses of running a shop verses locating stuff from private sellers. Glad your on the mend from your cold, I can sympathize as I have a super bad cold and feel like a truck hit me.
I loved the clock that Billy bought and he is such a disciplined buyer, how one should be.😅 Whereas I, on the other hand would have had a hard job walking away from either of those desks Ryan and probably would have asked Billy to store it in one of his vast choice of unrestored rooms at the Convent OR, why wouldn’t it fit in your convent office in the meantime? Perhaps because the offices are being streamlined in the more modern contemporary look? Happy New Year best wishes and good health to you all in France as we are already starting our first new year’s day down under in NZ. See you ‘next year’ Ryan!
It's always fun when you two get together... you are so much fun. I am thinking of that piece Billy was eyeing and it would look amazing in that kitchen... however how would you get it in??? Does the top section come off? I'm trying to picture how it would even get in the convent... I dunno but it was pretty awesome. Oh the Desks... that first one was rather special... needs some wax on the bottom of those drawers or something... anyway the second one... while pretty... TOO SHORT for you... honestly... was tiny... no way you could sit comfortably at it anyway... but first you need to find a place, then worry about funature...
Hey, I have a suggestion from your trip to the antique shop. Billie could buy the map and sell copies of it with the chateau prints so it’s easy to see where the chateau was located. What do you think?
I love the desks. The first one was more interesting and I could imagine the stories it could tell. You wouldn't have to have the glass on it. In fact, I'd rather prefer the real desk without the glass. I suppose it's called romancing the ordinary. To use the nice things on a daily basis. Why keep it and not use it? But, Billy is right. First things first. A place to put the thing.
You could get a desk for your office at the convent would that big one fit in that office. The smaller one is all so pretty nice and it would look nice in the office to.
A fun shop to spend time in. Loved the huge cabinet that Billy is going to think about for his kitchen. I like to think he will buy. And a ladder which would come in handy.
Billy is always the voice of reason. I do believe we will see that piece Billy was looking at will make its way to the convent.
Oh please Ryan, tell Billy DoNot cut the piece into section. The ladder is the gem.
He won't stop thinking about it until it's his.
@@jjano2320 right! I seen that in his eyes. Lol
He reminds me of me 😂 He won’t stop thinking about it until it’s his!
Yeppers 👍😊
Ryan! Please don’t let Billy cut apart that piece from the bank!!! The ladder and rail are so elegant and he would really destroy the value. I know you can talk him out of it, your charm and smile can convince anyone!! 💕
Ohh I love that piece for the Kitchen. Too big? Your kitchen is massive, it needs some big pieces like this. Love love love
Those boys need their own antique shop. They have the passion and knowledge for it.
we have talked about it! maybe later on
They could use convent
Perhaps put one in the convent.. 😉💛
An antique shop at the convent is a really good idea… Do IT! 🌸
I could see a fancy hotel with fancy shops, one being an antique shop…all nice and orderly!😬😳
The desks were beautiful, but likely a good idea to have a place to put them first. You don't want to be buying a house to fit your desk.
Also, Billy might want to leave his Louis Vuitton baseball hat at home the next time he wants to negotiate a bargain! hahahah

Thank you for the New Year’s gift.
Ryan, I adore you. Your sense of humor, your kindness towards others, handsome AF. You are the whole package. Too bad such a long distance separates us.
I saw him first! hahaha... Isnt he just a gem of a friend.
And really nice teeth for a Brit.... bahahaha
I agree we will see that large piece of furniture in the convent kitchen at some point. Billy REALLY likes it and knows he will need larger pieces for the huge kitchen.
I thought you had an office at the convent that needed furniture. Put the desk there and the map on the wall . Enjoyed the video !!! ❤
Good idea!
It’s always fun seeing you and Billy out and about.
Thanks for the video a little suggestion don’t start by apologizing - you are a gift and owe us nothing-! When appear we will enjoy

Its always fun watching you and Billy together, you are such good laughs!
Good to see you back with your buddy, even though a short visit. Happy New year to you and the family. Take care Ryan. Xx
I love that comment "I don't think it'll fit in the back of the car, Billy". Made me chuckle.

Alternatively- some paraffin, would work well?? For the drawer slide ease..
I think Billy should have bought the framed map and hung it in the convent offices and I think you should take him up on the offer of an apartment at the convent. Great Christmas Coat you received, Billy. Suits you perfectly.
Billy, Nothing would be too big for the convent kitchen - you need that bank cupboard- it's got its own ladder !!
Glad to see you back with Billy. Worried you two had a falling out. Hope your Mom is okay.
Billy is definitely the voice of reason. My dad always said a deal will always come along but the trick is being ready for it.
Tell Billy to buy the tall cabinet for the chateau it'll look perfect for the kitchen in the chateau with tall ceiling
The desk would be great in your office at the convent! I know some people don't like to mix modern and vintage but I love it!
That was so refreshing, as per usual! I love good desks and both of them were super!
It Would look Fantastic In The Kitchen Billy. With Old Cooper On and Linen. Xx 😊
The desk is a one of a kind. You need it!
Great to see you two together again 😁 I love the banter between you 😁 happy new year to you both and your families 😁
Billy NEEDS to have that cupboard in the kitchen. IT IS A MUST!!!!!!! Also, the smaller desk might be nice for your convent office, Ryan!
I have greatly enjoyed virtually tagging along on your journeys. Thank you for sharing with us. Looking forward to the new year's content.
Happy New Year Ryan. Billy should go back for that big cabinet for the convent kitchen. It would make an ideal china cupboard or pantry.
Love the family Ryan, you and Billy are the best. Sorry you were so sick. Glad you are better.
Ryan is obsessed with trunks lol
😍Always love a bit of brocante-ing! 💕💕 The 1st desk was really nice!!
Ryan, you looked very posh with your LV man-bag😉💖

You have a wise brother Ryan, thank you for sharing, everyone loves you. Love the first desk!.
It’s the first desk for me. That is a statement. Happy New Year!

Love that first desk with the glass top, Ryan!
I wonder if a local smithy can make you a wrought iron rack to hang your copper pots on. They are great to cook with.
I absolutely loved the first desk. That is a bargain with the glass and all.
Loved the first desk Ryan, couldn’t you put it in your office at the convent until you find a place .
I’ve admired your vehicle and am glad to know it’s a Renault. It’s been a wonderful “work truck” in past videos. Happy New Year to you and your bud.
I learned to drive on a 1966 Renault R-8!
Thank you Ryan for this last year video, love your brocante trips with Billy. Wishing you the best for 2023…and hope we see more of you. You are the best. And thank you.
Guessing Billy lived in either Shepway or Parkwood. I’m a Maidstone born girl 🥰
Good to see back together! Thanks for all the content in 2022.

Beautiful first desk you saw there Ryan, you should purchase it before someone else does. It's gorgeous & a great price too.
I so love this episode!❤ You and Billy hitting the town😊
#antique shopping!
Hi Ryan! I love to see you and Billy together. You are so fun and make these videos very enjoyable. Happy New Year. I loved the first desk and also that massive unit that Billy was looking at.
Hi Ryan Happy New year from Australia lovely to see you and Billy out shopping again.😊
Another great antiques adventure. Love the pieces you and Billy looked at.
I hope that the prices of these antiques are negotiable. I know I would always ask for a lower price than what they are asking. Happy to see you and Billy and I will wish both a great day on the last day of 2022
Your a great friend.

Billy looking swanky in his LV cap ! Beautiful clock too.
Those desks... one of them... would look good in ur office at the convent.
Hi Ryan big hug from Biuenos Aires you could put the desk in your office at the convent 😊
In North America, copper is in such low supply that people steal it to try and sell it for a high price...
Wow, Mr. Ryan, my Aunt Debra and I need to come and shop with you two, love this place.
Happy New Year, Ryan! The first desk was my favorite. Couldn't you put it in your office at the convent for right now? ~~God Bless
It’s always fun seeing you and Billy out and about. Happy New Year.
The desk be perfect for your office at the convent
Tell Billy to get those cabinets! They would be perfect! Happy New Year 🎉
I am envious of the great antique shops and prices you have available to you!
I love that unit from the bank! You should ask the gentleman how he got it to his store. He may know if it separates into pieces.
What a wonderful way to close out the year. All my best to you and your family be it blood or through friends for the coming year!
I just wanted to say Happy New Year and I hope that 2023 brings you nothing but absolute joy all year long!
You could get a desk for your office at the convent would that big one fit in that office. The smaller one is all so pretty nice and it would look nice in the office to.
