I'm glad your mom and dad have you to help now that it seems they need you more than ever. You're a good son. Thanks for the update regarding the church. I'm glad that they will be saving as much of the interior that they can. Maybe Billy can score some of those statues for his chapel.
I am speechless as an Italian and as an European. In Italy if you even damage a jewel like that beautiful church, you are fined or even imprisoned. They want to destroy European History: who? The EU maleficent elites
I enjoyed seeing you work in the garden. I would like to see the finished results all newly planted ready for fishing customers to enjoy. Perhaps trim that huge bush down to waist or knee level to open up the flower bed. Great your Mom and Dad have you to do so many necessary tasks for them. I like videos where projects are being worked on as I am now like your Mom and Dad needing many things done for me by someone else. Wonderful that you are such a good caring son. See you soon .....and hope it is you working around the home place.
The Church is much more than the building. In the Bible ‘Church’ never refers to the building. It always refers to the People; the followers. Hopefully the town can build another place of worship. It looks like that structure is way beyond repair. What a shame to loose such a beautiful historic building. Please keep doing updates .
I'll tell you what I think 😉 ...Ryan you would make the most excellent roving local news reporter for BBC France! Never too late to be talent spotted, journalism is clearly your hidden forte. 😊
Unfortunate and sad about the church but thank you so much for the update and the new info!! Billy needs those statues!! You're a good man Ryan!! I know you're rather a nomadic gypsy but sometimes it's a very good thing to stay home 🥰🥰
Does look really good Ryan. I appreciate that you help your parents so much. Too bad about the church but at least they are saving some of the interior elements including the beautiful stained glass windows.
The beautiful church needs a miracle! Thank you for the update, and please keep us posted! I wish your parents a successful season this year! I know they appreciate their sons help!🥰
May I suggest perennial blue and purple plants to fill in some of the garden gaps. The bees will love those colours, perennials last for years, and daisies clump up so help suppress the weeds and can be divided later to make more plants. I have had success in a bed like this with daisies and penstemons. Happy gardening Ryan.
💕Well done on a lovely church update hopefully they will recycle the brickwork of that church💕If you remove the branches hanging down from that tree it will give the rest more strength & nutrients💕
That garden area looks much better. Just add the plants wood chips and it will really pop. Glad you're helping your parents. Interesting about the church. Keep us posted. Stay safe.
That's a lovely palm tree between your red robins. And the other shrub looks like it might be an oleander. The price of building materials has sky-rocketed in the last years since COVID, which is likely another reason the current quote for the total repair of the lovely church is so much higher. Thank you for the update on it.
Sad about the church. But I am so happy they are saving all the windows and all the religious statues inside. Wow you weeded all the yard by hand. Most of us use a garden tool As for that tree in the back side it is a beautiful palm tree. Very lucky to have one. Loved your video. See ya Ryan
Thank you Ryan for the update on the church. So sad that it will be demolished but, it is good to learn that the stained glass windows and items inside will be saved. Billy should inquire about some of the items for the chapel.
The fact that the church was decommissioned in 2014 definitely shows that there must have been something wrong for that to happen. Sadly so many churches have not been kept as well as they should have been and in this case resulted in the roof failing in the storm, that may have been the reason it was decommissioned. I hope they do save a much of the interior as possible and you never know Billy may find the statues he his looking for for the convent chapel 😊 Just thought I'd add that I'm loving the videos, you keep doing what makes you happy Ryan because if your happy it will come over in your content x
Love when you go exploring, Ryan! Always somewhere interesting, and lets you roam about as you enjoy so much! Your videos and soundtracks are great quality as well❤️
Great job on the weeding! You should get a cultivator or claw on a long pole, I have one and it's great for grubbing out weeds and not having to bend as much.
Weeding is back breaking but you are doing a grand job Ryan. Hope they can save and reuse the contents of the church ⛪️. The glass is beautiful. See you in the next video xx
I know you're you g and may not listen to me, but I must speak out. I heard your knees pop on the video when you squatted down. Mine used to do that, and I did not pay attention to other than to giggle and joke about my knees sounding old in my 30s. When I was sixty and hD to go on crutches because of my knees, my doctor informed me that I could have avoided all this by taking glucosamine condroitan in my 30s. It rebuilds the soft tissue in your joints. I started it in my 60s, and it took about a month before I saw a difference. I am 64 now and no longer on crutches and did not need knee replacements! WHOO HOO! Praise the Lord! Take care of yourself. We all love you.
The best gardening gloves I've found, so far, are mechanics gloves - with extra padding and knuckle guards it lets you wrap blackberries around your hand to rip them out by the roots, very satisfying!😆
Sad news about the church but it is wonderful that they are saving as much of the interior as they can. Does it still belong to the church? You did a great job in the flower bed.
You are a good person, Ryan, helping your family prepare for the season's first guests. You could plant some geraniums or pansies, or something in that area that your parents like for a bit of color to brighten things up. And historic preservation is so important. It's a shame, tragic, that the church wasn't taken care of when things first began to go wrong. Since it's coming down I wish someone could get in and at least save some of the wood and other features that might be "alright." Thank you.🌷
You do a fine weeding job!!!! I think weeding is very therapeutic and great exercise.... I liked how you knew what plants needed to stay and what one's needed to go.
Spring gardening is always so satisfying! I love doing jobs where you can actually see the results! Those flowers 🌷🌹💐🌼 are going to be lovely! Seeing your Dad's phonebooth always makes me smile! Thank you for the update concerning the Church. It's sad, but change is inevitable. Thanks to your videos, I hope to visit France someday. Greetings from North Carolina 😊👍!
Breaks my heart to see the condition. Happy they will be salvaging some things. Would be a shame to lose some of those beautiful items. You are a good son. I have a son who is helpful to me as you are to your parent. God bless you.
Hi Ryan it's so sad to see this lovely church destroyed but I'm glad to hear that the windows are being saved. There is a church in Liverpool that had bomb damage and I'm giving you the link so that you can see how that church is still in use today. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_St_Luke,_Liverpool I love how you and Shaun teach us about the towns and villages in your area of France. I enjoy seeing these beautiful places and hearing about the history too. Thankyou so much.
Great job tidying up the guest house area! Looks much much better for the first guests of the season!👍🏻 your parents are lucky to have you there at this time when their health is not 100%🥰👍🏻
While the Mayor is lurking around, perhaps you could corner him and ask about taking/purchasing some of the Church elements worth saving and offer them to Billy? You are a good son Ryan, in fact a good person all 'round! Hope all goes well when the guests arrive at the lake.
Ryan, another well done, creatively done and well presented vlog. The research on the church, another lake view, everything is interesting. Always happily enjoying and appreciating your work and sending love from Phoenix Arizona 🏜️❤
Ryan I love seeing you do things around working on your dad's property or anywhere I love the before-and-after more of these please? Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
Thanks for the update on the church, it is what it is indeed. The little garden space will look just fine when you are all done. Good job Ryan, very lovely of you to help family.
I am pleased they are going to try and save the interior as much as possible and thank you for the update Ryan. May be Billy will score some stuff from the church for his chapel? Your mom and dad must be so happy to have you there helping them and that flower bed will look a treat when it is all done. Have a great day.
The shrubs are called Joseph's Coat here in Texas. I noticed they were all looking splendid this afternoon when we went to the grocery store (17miles away!). The other shrub, is I think, an Oleander They are very poisonous but beautiful ! The church story is sad and reflects the strife between church and state. The buildings are too much of a burden for small towns. It seemed like a good idea at the Revolution, to take over the churches , but now it is the day of reckoning. I hope they can now save some of the furniture items. What happened to the more valuable items like candle sticks and metal items?
We do what we have to do.bi loved with my mom for a year and worked in the yard the whole time. Glad I did. They always helped, now it's your time to step up. Good luck.
It is very interesting to hear that the church had structural issues from before the most recent damage. Thanks for sharing the information you found. That patch of landscaping that you weeded was a really good start. Get some heavier gloves, lad! Stinging nettles are an abomination.😡 You really are a great help to your Mum and Dad. I am sure they are pleased to have you around and grateful for your help. I've said before, but here it goes again: You're a good son, Ryan.
So sad they have to tear down such a beautiful old church, I'm glad the parishioners will be able to save some of the things from inside the church though. Ryan I'm so proud of you willing to help your Dad get ready for the fishing season. Hugs, Kathy USA 🇺🇸
Thank you so much for the update on the church. The fact they let it go so long without fixing it is sad beyond belief but if they are going to save everything they can from the inside that make my heart glad. Take care Ryan and pray you and your parents are well and stay safe and healthy.
Wow, a palm of some sort in your backyard! I hate weeding but enjoyed watching you do it 😂 I was thinking the same as commenter Lori Spencer in hoping that statue could be salvaged for Billy's chapel. Might be too big but it's a thought. 💚
My first time here Ryan. I've been following Billy and Sean. It is good to see you. I appreciate getting to watch your interactions with the "gang". Also, The tree you mentioned appears to be a Fan Palm (possibly), and the "red robin's" look like what we call red tips here in Virginia, USA. All the best to you!
I cannot even wrap my head around the fact that they did not salvage all of the interior furniture, carvings, statues and the stained glass windows!!! So heartbreaking!
Sad about the church, but some buildings really aren’t worth saving. Glad they’re going to save what they can of the contents. The stairs that led to the raised pulpit are cool - it would be neat to see them reused somehow.
Ryan, you did make a good dent in the little area. In regards to the church. It is a shame it has gone to ruin but I am glad they will save the stained windows and furnishings. Best wishes to you, your mom and dad as well.
Omm, will get in there and make it beautiful. Thanks for all you do, Ryan. Old churches back then were always built in the shape of the cross. It is a very historical architectural design. I live in a town in the US that has a church built in the cross shape and it is very rare.
So sad to see any historical building be demolished . I remember the first time you and Billy showed it years ago. Hope Billy can obtain some items for the convent chapel.
Your doing yard work again. I have to say something. I notice you one hand or hand scoop up your debris and throw that into you wheel barrow. Thats a lot of work. I use buckets and fill those up and mash it down until its full. I Use my small truck to take my yard debris to the city mulching spot. In the bed of my truck I lay down a tarp. When my bucket is full I dump the bucket full into the truck. So much easier then one hand at a time. A lot less bending over. In the fall I do this same thing with the tree leaves . I have more yard then I need. And many trees. Love the trees so not complaining. doesn't take many crammed full buckets to fill the truck up. When I get to where I am going and I let down the tail gate and grap some tarp and in one pull i empty the truck of all my debris. I am a woman in my 60s and people are amazed the work I can get done with out hiring help. Not to much tugging and pulling on weeds or my tarp to get my job done. I did feel bad for you helping your dad with the leaves. Seems you were working at it harder then need to and moving the debris more times than needed as well. Just a suggestion Ryan. Love You and Love watching. Good Bless and take care.
It takes a village or 2 or 3 for all tradesmen and women to come together and donate their time doing fundraisers and give free workmanship to rebuild . I have seen on a few Channels where people submit request for getting funds to help repair roofs from the government / foundations . So if the funds can be raised to buy the material and then hopefully the people would give their time , blood and sweat and even their tears to repair this Church back to life. This is breaking my heart to see a Church be torn down. Ryan you and others in France have the platforms to save this Church, y'all need to work together . Make a Channel for fundraising the funds to do this.. Long live the Church!!!!!
Thank you, Ryan. The village would never be able to fund the church's renovation. They are loosing their history and community with the church being demolished! So shortsighted of the French government. Too bad the Vatican can't step in to help! They did have a fund to fix frescoes! The village needs benefactors to help restore the church! There are wealth folks in France and around the world that would love to rebuild and restore the church. It could be done if the will was there! Looks like the village churches are second class citizens compared to Paris and Notre Dame. Thanks for the update! Love the palm tree!
Sad about the church but life goes on regardless of what Mother Nature hits us with. I commend you on you knowledge of plants and gardening. The flower bed will look great when you finish it. 🙏❤️
Thank you for sharing the update, Ryan. It's so sad that it can't be saved. I was wondering if you could look into it a bit further and see if they are having it demolished or deconstructed? There's definitely a big difference between the two. If the church can't be saved it would be a much needed silver lining if the various materials could be used to save another structure, possibly another church. Sending a whole church to a landfill is just too depressing. So glad you're able to help your parents. Try to post when you have time. I miss seeing you when you don't post a video. Sending you a big hug, Ryan. 💗🫂💗🌈🌷💕
It’s such a shame about the church. It must have been really beautiful in it’s prime. I’m glad you updated us about it. You made a lovely start on the garden getting the bulk of weeds removed. Look forward to seeing it once you’ve finished.
👍gardening. Interesting, in the UK I would say as churches become unviable they are sold and snapped up quite quickly by developers or domestic buyers. There will be a lot of people after all that stone not to mention the fittings. Do the town benefit from the sale of the site and fitting or does it go to the Catholic Church estate. You could do videos all day long on the history of old buildings and their grounds, I’m fascinated by the social history, old photos. I read somewhere that the French government is thinking of taking over empty properties to house homeless people in, is this true. Thx for your videos
I'm glad your mom and dad have you to help now that it seems they need you more than ever. You're a good son. Thanks for the update regarding the church. I'm glad that they will be saving as much of the interior that they can. Maybe Billy can score some of those statues for his chapel.
I think its so sad. Glad at least they are going to save some of the interior.
I was thinking of Billy too with those statues in the church!
Agreed. It would be awful if those beautiful statues were lost.
Glad to see you are helping your parents getting ready for the fishing season. Enjoyed the church footage. Take care

Unfortunate and sad about the church but thank you so much for the update and the new info!! Billy needs those statues!! You're a good man Ryan!! I know you're rather a nomadic gypsy but sometimes it's a very good thing to stay home 🥰🥰
The interior of the church altar is georgeous. I'm blown away by the artist and carpenters of long ago.
Thank you for sharing Ryan.
Does look really good Ryan. I appreciate that you help your parents so much. Too bad about the church but at least they are saving some of the interior elements including the beautiful stained glass windows.
❤ Great start on the flower garden Ryan! I'm very glad they are saving what they can from the church.
Very unfortunate about the Church. Loved watching you weeding the garden Ryan good on you helping* the folks out 👍

It sure would be nice that some of the artifacts inside could be saved and used at the convent chapel. Thanks Ryan for the update.
Thanks for the update on the church. It’s sad but can’t be helped. Good work on the flower bed.😊❤
💕Well done on a lovely church update hopefully they will recycle the brickwork of that church💕If you remove the branches hanging down from that tree it will give the rest more strength & nutrients💕

One of my favorite things! Gardening, weeding a bed! Nice work!

Sadly it’s the best choice on the church. As for the gardening, any time you wish to grow things I will be watching! I love gardening ✌️💚🐝

I enjoy learning about France from you. Seeing the villages etc. Hope your Mom is doing better. Big Hi ya'll from Lexington, North Carolina, USA
Great job on the weeding! You should get a cultivator or claw on a long pole, I have one and it's great for grubbing out weeds and not having to bend as much.

You are always a good helper and keeping busy. I know your parents appreciate the help. ❤
Kudos to you Ryan for helping your Mum & Dad out. You are a model of a good son. God Bless you. Happy Easter to you & your family❣️
I know you're you g and may not listen to me, but I must speak out. I heard your knees pop on the video when you squatted down. I’m so glad you helped you Mom and Dad I’m cross with the clergy not been a big part of the repair of this old and beautiful church
Hi Ryan it's so sad to see this lovely church destroyed but I'm glad to hear that the windows are being saved. There is a church in Liverpool that had bomb damage and I'm giving you the link so that you can see how that church is still in use today.

Thanks for caring, Ryan. So glad they are able to remove the stained glass and vestments.
Thank you for your usual cheery self. I have covid and feel mega rough so you have cheered me up.
Great job tidying up the guest house area! Looks much much better for the first guests of the season!👍🏻 your parents are lucky to have you there at this time when their health is not 100%🥰👍🏻
The lavender probably isn't dead. It need to get very warm before it starts to leaf out.
I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully it will grow in the compost pile.
Nice to see you on here again Ryan.
Ryan , You are so kind to be helpful to your family .
While the Mayor is lurking around, perhaps you could corner him and ask about taking/purchasing some of the Church elements worth saving and offer them to Billy? You are a good son Ryan, in fact a good person all 'round! Hope all goes well when the guests arrive at the lake.
The mayor is acting very suspiciously in my opinion.
The church doesn't belong to the mayor, they need to address the religious group, probably the cagholic church.
A good soule.deep and a good sense of humour makes a good person 👍
Has Billy inquired about the Spiral staircase? He needs it for the convent chapel (if it's the right size).
Thanks for the update on the troublesome church. Gardening is great for mental health or in my experience it is anyhow. 😊
Ryan, another well done, creatively done and well presented vlog. The research on the church, another lake view, everything is interesting.

Thanks for the update Ryan - yes it is very sad.
You really do make a good reporter.
I enjoyed the update and like everyone else hope that Billy can get his hands on some of those beautiful statues, if they're not too far gone.
Nice update Ryan - thank you. And the plant area looks much better - good start!
Billy should try & buy the statues in the church.
Thank you so much for the update on the church. The fact they let it go so long without fixing it is sad beyond belief but if they are going to save everything they can from the inside that make my heart glad. Take care Ryan and pray you and your parents are well and stay safe and healthy.

Nice to see the update. The weeding was done so quickly!
Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks for the update on the church.
Good job Ryan. You are good to help your parents and hope they are well
Ryan, Billy should see if he can buy any of the statues or windows for the convent chapel

Good journalistic research Ryan!
Nice to see you helping your parents...get ready for the season...it's just so sad that the once beautiful church..is being demolished...💞💕👍🇨🇦
It's also overcast & cold here in NC. Love hearing the birds in the background.
Hello 👋🤩 @Sherry Blanton we're neighbors! I'm in Western N.C., in the mountains.
Good job as usual Ryan keep up the good work.
Wonderful vlog today. Thanks for giving us something to look forward to most days. 😊
Thank you Ryan !! Good man 😊
Sad about the church but life goes on regardless of what Mother Nature hits us with. I commend you on you knowledge of plants and gardening. The flower bed will look great when you finish it. 🙏❤️
Good start Ryan!
