I haved lived in this area of southern France for over a year now and absolutely love this region. When you visit Bruniquel you should go to the caves there where they found Neanderthal fire pits dating back 175,500 years. These are considered to be the oldest man made structures ever to be found. There is a great National Geographic documentary about this cave at Bruniquel. Also nearby is the little village of Penne with an old castle/fortress ruins clinging precariously to the top of some cliffs.
Thank you for typing a full question :) To me as a Dutch person and with my Dutch culture this kind of communication sounds very disrespectful although my American friends have explained that it doesn't have a "commanding" intention but in all honesty it does come across as such to me when someone can't bother to type more than "prices plz". I'm not a dog :) Sorry, cultural differences @@chattykathie7129 The lady of this shop doesn't put prices on her items so when you see something you like, you ask her for the price. Many brocante shops work that way by the way. If you've seen anything you liked you can contact her on Instagram. A lot of shops in France don't have a very strong online presence and don't have a website. Thanks for understanding. Hope this helps!
This video was so beautiful. I think this was my favorite brocante yet. The village oh my goodness it is so charming, I can’t thank you enough for taking us to meander through the little streets. Many times when I dream of visiting France I know Paris is what most people say I must see and yes of course I would love to be there but these little villages and lovely people, fields and beautiful farm houses in their simple beauty. Chateaus and little gardens that is what I long to see . Thank you for your amazing videos they feed my soul.
Love everything about this video…my French is awful but I enjoy listening to the conversations and actually picking up words and phrases! My French Grandmother was so sad none of her Grandkids spoke French well enough to converse with her…it’s a sweet sound to listen to! Thx for sharing..
Thank you for these beautiful videos. You are showing us places that are so lovely and although I will never get there to see them I feel like I have! Your videography is better and more intimate than Any I have seen anywhere else. ❤❤❤
Love going into these brocante shops and vicariously getting to shop . Wish I understood French but at 74 not sure there’s time to learn. Looking forward to seeing your haul !

I wondered if you would ever come across pieces from Creil & Montereau. That white plate was not representative of all the beautiful pieces they made. My mother grew up in Montereau (and most of my ancestors going back centuries lived there) so I am always on the lookout for beautiful, colorful pieces from Creil & Montereau!
What a lovely tour and brocante shopping. Liked the little doorknobs 😍 And the writing box was really nice. Wonder why it had a mirror 🤔Or was it more for painting?
I love these little trips you bring us on. So calming and beautiful. I'm still waiting for your book. I'm in the states, is this what everyone else is experiencing?
Yes unfortunately the shipping times are extremely long, I have heard this from many who ordered in the US. I contacted Amazon today and they say they’re having issues in their US printing facility which causes the delay. I honestly hope it will arrive soon!
It was lovely to see a marmalade pot from Keiller Dundee a city to the south of me … the company no longer exists but their products travelled so far 😊
@@FrenchCountryLife It's not the shipping that is taking so long, it's the printing. Self-published books are not printed until ordered (print on demand), and I have experienced this with other self-published books. I am still waiting for my copy that I ordered as soon as it was available. My order is showing that it will arrive next week (fingers crossed) but it has not been shipped yet.
@@baydreamer01 yes that's true but in Europe people have received their order within a couple of days and someone from the UK even had it delivered on November 7! I contacted Amazon and they say they are having major delays in their US printing facility which is why orders from the US take so long. Thank you for your patience.
@@FrenchCountryLife No problem, I am not complaining. I'm sure it's worth the wait! I hope it means they are printing and binding it carefully and perfectly. It takes time to print and bind hardcover books with many high-resolution photos, and not all facilities in this expansive country have the equipment to do so. I wonder if they initially printed some in bulk in Europe in anticipation of receiving more orders from there (since that is where you are). Edit: Update: I just checked on my order and it is being shipped now! Yay!
Oh I can’t believe it, from St Antinon to Bruniquel you will have driven passed my house in France, Hamlet de BES, Penne. My house is down by the rivers edge. Oh I wish I could have met up with you. Take care 😊
I think the village is lovely and that the shop you visited had some things of interest but I really hate when things are strewn around and full of dust or mold...I can see that maybe the better stuff was brought elsewhere to be sold...I can't help thinking every single time anyone on youtube visit villages like this whether it be France or Italy or elsewhere...I wonder WHERE IS EVERYONE??? How come there's never anyone strolling around, or walking their dog or cycling around town? Do people actually live here or just visit in the summertime and then lock up and leave....I always wonder about this....
Yes people live there but these villages are quiet. When they’re crowded it’s because there are many tourists. This was a Sunday around lunch time, people are visiting family. But you’re not the only one commenting this. I’ll explain in more detail in a next video, at least I’ll share how I see this. Also I try to avoid filming people as much as I can. I walked through this village for 10 minutes and saw about 10 people. I’ll explain more soon!

I’m always amazed at how tidy French villages are. The view from the Chateau is amazing. I loved the plates with the little birds all different.

Lovely brocante, I definitely spotted some things I would buy there! What did you buy?
I bought a conical confiture jar and the laboratory bowl and funnel!

love this. is there a link to find her shop online? or to contact. cheers.
Hi! She doesn’t have an online shop but she shares her items here; instagram.com/mylenedoulut?igshid=NGVhN2U2NjQ0Yg==
Wish you shared what you bought
I got the apothecary bowl with the funnel and a conical confiture jar.
I think those “knobs” are for the cords on blinds.
Can you give me the name of the village and the place you stayed again please
Saint-Antonin-noble-val and the holiday home is called Maison Saint Antonin.
❤
What is the music please
The song is called “You are loved” by Sam Eber.
Is that an Australian accent I hear?
Yes, Corrina is Australian
Ha! It’s hard to disguise.

I was expecting some great French country antiques !
Joli mais vraiment très cher, 15 euros le pot de confiture conique, en Normandie 5 euros 😅
Les prix sont différents dans toutes les régions de France…
There are no people here. One automobile which was probably yours. Does no one live in this storybook village? I could daydream here for years.
Sure people live there! It was a Sunday and that’s family day in France and in general French villages are very quiet in the off season.
