You want the green algae for them to eat. When the water evaporates the salt doesn’t so you don’t have to add more salt.
Honestly I loved those Sea Monkey ads when I was a kid. Your Sea Monkeys look happy... seems like they have had a long life too!
The ads were outlandish, but the retro artwork is pretty neat! Gotta love those happy, smiling Sea Monkey families depicted in the old ads, ha! We've been having so much fun with them. I honestly can't believe they've lasted almost a year! Thanks for watching Melanie 😊
The algae is actually a food source, you shouldn't be looking to remove it.

lol i still remember selling GRIT newspapers my brother and I in the 80s, i saw sea monkeys i was like what, they had human faces in the ads, so we grew some only problems were they always talked too much and ate all of my snacks, oh wait naw that was me. LOL

Salt does not evaporate so the water salinity should still be the same
Gotcha. Well, I don't know what's in that little packet then (secret formula) but it has the appearance and texture of salt. Whatever it is, it must be good for our little Sea Monkeys because they're still thriving!
@@Our80sLife plasma III does raise salinity and it also contains micro nutrients for the small sea monkey babies to eat. I have no idea how raising the salinity can improve survival in them but the infusoria (micro nutrients) can, because the 1st and 2nd packet does not come with any so they just rely on random bacteria they find in the water that can survive the saltiness to feed themselves in the first few days before they can be big enough to eat the algae powder (growth food).

I recently started my babies a little over 2 wks ago, & only had 4 of mine survive in the first week. Then a few days ago I noticed more babies hatch, which is super exciting! I am looking forward to mine getting as big as yours, & thanks to this video, I will be purchasing the #4 packet in the future 😊😊 I would love an update on your babies when y'all are able to😊😊❤️

If all my sea monkey eggs went to the bottom when I moved my tank from one side of the window rot other do you think I killed them?
No, the eggs usually go down to the bottom anyway. Also, they’re super tiny so you can’t really see anything until they hatch and begin growing. Good luck with your babies! 🍀

They are thriving now but of the original three the two females died after having babies sadly but now have lots of sea monkeys

What kind of bottled water do you use?
We use spring water, room temperature.
They swim around having a good time.
They do seem happy, we hope so!
Why is the male that’s attached to the female blue?
I've noticed the Sea Monkeys vary slightly in color, but I don't know why. The company sells a product called Red Magic vitamins that will turn them a red color, but we haven't tried it. They are quite mysterious creatures! Thanks for watching our video!

hi a little question I ordered plasma III and it arrived. I'm just questioning my future actions because you said to add 3 scoops when you get it and add a scoop once after 3 weeks but my sea monkeys are only 22 days old and aren't fully grown and I'm not sure if i add 3 scoops if that might damage the balance of salts and minerals in their tank
Hmm… good thinking. You might consider waiting until you need to add water as it evaporates. We definitely recommend sending your Sea-Monkeys questions to Transcience, they’re the experts. Best of luck with your new pets! 😊

We wouldn't recommend doing that because the first packet has the right amount of salt and nutrients per water that you add. Follow the instructions precisely for the best results.
What does plasma 3 do and when do you use it?
The package states the following: "Plasma III is formulated so that 50% more young Sea-Monkeys grow and thrive. At least 10 days after hatching, add 3 scoops of Plasma III and stir the water. Once every 2 weeks thereafter, add one scoop until finished."
