Pokemon Legends Arceus is a game filled with secrets and mysteries. One of these mysteries, however, stands out above the rest, and it has to do with the HUGE amount of Unova representation thats in this game, despite it being a Sinnoh focused title. In today's video, I set out to discover why this could be, and the answer I've found might just solve it all. I hope you enjoy!

I love that legends Arceus loves to give unova and Kalos some spotlight 🤩🤩🤩
As I told Toby, thats not a mystery, its just them showing the next game's remake b4 it arrives. (Though we are due for Crystal remake next odds r) This has been a thing for a long time. Now Galar on the other hand is the REAL mystery when there ain't another Gala game coming ANY time soon... least not main series so maybe a spin off title? Or perhaps it was just to try and sell a few more copies of SWSH. Now to watch the vid... edit: Not done yet but A HAHA! I got called out xD edit: Still not done yet but no, its not 10 years away, its like 4-6 years at MOST away. And no, we cannot rule that out as this is GF's thing. Edit: Finished the vid. While nice (and that one guy looks like Kamado!), I do not believe thats the reason why and even if it were, the gen 5 remake hint is still the likely reason and u could have both that + ur theory if it is true which again, I don't buy it as true lol Its also stretching it to try and fit ur theory, u'r gonna need much more proof than that if u truly believe ur theory to get others to believe it.
Nobody try to think that hsiuin is somehow could be connected to unove¿
It is really cool that there is such a big connection between Sinnoh and Unova im interested to see if it has any big implications down the line

GameFreak certainly loves taking battle facilities characters and just plopping them in different dimensions and times but I would say Anabel got the best glow up in Pokemon history.
Next we get the weird sisters from X and Y from the Battle Maison
@@cammoore___ Yeah, or Palmer
@@gustavju4686 Palmer is too well remembered
@@cammoore___ True, can be one of the lesser remembered Sinnoh/Johto BF Brains. That said, Anabel wasn't the least remembered either (that would go to Greta I think).
@@cammoore___ Reminder that Ingo and Emmet were verrry popular in Japan ranking pretty high in a poll of most popular characters, just below N and guess who outside the protagonist character wound up in hisui? Popularity doesn't matter
@HoopsandHipHop
I noticed a neat little reference within the NAMES of the Locations within Legends: Arceus--
• Hisui (Jade; Midori "green")
• Obsidian (Jet-Black; Volcanic Rock)
• Crimson (Deep Red; Embarrassment)
• Cobalt (Sky Blue; Magnetic Element)
• Coronet (Gray~Blue; a small or plain Crown)
• Alabaster (Warm White; Translucent)
@HoopsandHipHop
So you have Green, Red, and Blue--obviously as a callback to the original Pokémon games.
But you also have Black, White, and Gray--as you pointed out, there's a lot of callbacks to Unova, but especially in Gray, as that game never happened.
I think it's interesting that the colors they chose for the locations are EXPLICITLY known as "Jet Black" and "Warm White", which was the whole point of the Dragons--Zekrom and Reshiram.
Is it really just a neat nod to them?...
Also all stones and metals, fitting the naming scheme of Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.
@@gabriellockwood2780 Maybe a give away of the Remake names? We might get them sooner than we think. Gen V and IV did both come out for the DS, the Switch might give us two remakes (or three since B2W2).
This is such a COOL detail! Thanks so much for bringing it to light! Crazy how Pokémon can interpret real life in its themes and in the Pokémon themselves.
Thanks for watching!!

@@HoopsandHipHop I take a unova big representation to hint future unova remakes
I think all the Unovan representation is to try and tie Unova in more with the rest of the Pokémon World...
Since Black and White was supposed to be a soft reboot, more separate from the rest of the Pokémon World at the time (Unova is New York, Gen 1-4 was all Japan, etc.), so by adding more variants and connections through other regions and stories, it's much more connected to the main franchise--that's just my interpretation however.
We got Galarian Variants of Unova-Native Pokémon, the previous Generation only had Kanto//Alola Variants.
Then the next games we got Hisui Variants for Unova-Native Pokémon.
I think we'll see a few more Unovan Pokémon get new forms in SV, and possibly more Kalos & Hoenn variants as well.
@@gabriellockwood2780 yeah while I don't think this representation is hinting at remakes anytime in the near future, I think it's definitely with the intent to get the ball rolling. Connect unova to the rest of the universe and generate nostalgia for the region so that it can enter full blown hype mode when the time does come.
One thing I'd like to mention is that with at with Enamorus being added we now have all 4 (main) beasts of the for cardinal Symbols. Enamorus herself being Xuanming, the Black Tortoise of the North. Landorus being Baihu the White Tiger of the West. Tornadus being Zhuque, the Vermilion Bird of the South. And lastly with Thundurus being Qinglong, the Azure Dragon of the East. This isn't fully noticeable until you look at their Therian Formes, seeing as the colors do not link up. However, Enamorus' forme of A turtle with a snake independently as it's tail being a dead ringer for Xuanming's almost universal description.
they all have a little gem with the right colour on their bodies somewhere
Ingo's popularity exploded, and rightfully so
what if modern day Alder isnt from modern day and is indeed the hero from the past, hence why he isnt good with PC storage since technology is too alien to him being from the past
I know this a stretch but what if the hero is Alder’s son was sent back time as well. Alder does have a grandson in black and white as a final boss in battle tower
Enamorus just gets more and more complex the more I learn about her. She may be kinda ugly, but I'm learning to love her -- she's easily my favorite of the Kami quartet.
Well she is the 'love-hate' Pokemon...
Damm well i'm definitely keeping that abomination in the PC Boxes if thats how it works.
This video really says a lot. I do acknowledge that there are a lot Unova elements within the game, but I guess a lot of people just thought that it's overshadowing Unova remakes.
There's one thing I'd like to mention, although the forces of nature are introduced in the Unova games, according to Cogita they are actually the Forces of Nature of "Hisui", not Unova. This actually makes more sense to me since the Forces of nature are pretty much directly based on Japanese gods and Chinese mythology, I always felt weird why these Pokemon are Unovian. Doesn't makes sense to me at all. It just makes more sense than they are from Hisui and then immigrated to Unova.
Also, in Legend Arceus, the word "Unova" was never mentioned in any form of text. Makes me wonder if they are planning a Legends game for Unova so there's a potential new name for the region.
TEA! Good catch, they’ve mentioned galar, & alola but never unova by name. Also i think enamorus is the 1 that doesnt mind being caught which is why we don’t know of her, only in the past. She’s companied with a trainer OR is kept as a family pass down type situation
@@gee1271 Yeah, I would've assumed that Enamorus just found her next companion after the player died, or possibly found Cogita if you believe she's immortal (This thoery is popular in Asian communities)
The heavy Unova representation is a hint that the next remakes will probably be black and white 1 &/or 2
Just watched the whole video; I'm just saying there seems to be a pattern with the remakes: Fire Leaf, Heart Soul, Alpha Omega, & Shining Brilliant
Either way; nice April Fools video on making me think this was about how Ingo got to Hisui
Enamorus being said to bring Spring makes me think the other 3 bring the other seasons as well. Their colors would reflect it well
Tornadus = Summer
Landorus = Fall
Thundurus = Winter
Landorus has a scorching wind in Legends, while Tornadus has a cold one.
Though, the irony is that Enamorus's inspiration (Genbu) represents Winter, while Tornadus's is Summer, Landorus's fall, and Thunderus's is spring.
I loved all the Unova representation because pokemon White was my first game and Oshawatt was my first pokemon
I think it's only part of it. BTW, did you notice that the Diamond Clan has Wardens from Japanese regions and the Pearl Clan has Wardens from Western regions?
Also, Ingo is a Faller. His story is parallel to that of Anabel, including the amnesia.
Broke: the hero is Alder, somehow
Woke: the hero is Benga, somehow. He's the highest leveled trainer in BW/2, despite being quite young, meaning he's some sort of prodigy. He could absolutely use 10 Pokemon without a huge amount of trouble, despite conventional wisdom in the Pokemon world dictating that 6 is the max a single person can handle. It's also fairly likely that he would grow up to look a great deal like Alder given that they're, you know, related. He also appeared in the same game that was Ingo's last known appearance prior to getting isekai's to Hisui.
Coke: All the things around the hero’s neck are Pepsi cans
4:25 BDSP, next is Black and White so not 10 years, probably a couple if WWW3 doesn't get in the wy.
Legends Unova game would be dope I doubt it's foreshadowing that though sadly though I think it is funny that quite a few Unova pokemon also made it in Sword and Shield
Ten years? We get Gen 9 later this year which means Gen 10 is likely 2025 with Unova remakes a year or two after
We could get them in Gen IX too, given DP and BW came out on the same system.
I love the deep cut history lessons Pokemon put in their games. I think you hit the nail on the head when it comes to the Unova/Hisui connection
I want a legends game in the Unova region like "Legends: Kyurem" or smth like that
I never thought Pokemon will be connected to real life by those two people you talked about. I never knew people living in the United States will move to Japan to develop agriculture. This video was really deep with knowledge and trivia. I can say that I both learned something new and enjoyed this video.
Blew me away. The inclusion of actual history was so cool 😎
I have a feeling that they realized in hindsight that Unova is not that much like the real world US. Including all of the Unova stuff is a retroactive explanation as to why. I hope this means that they'll make a Legends game in Unova where they have a bunch of forms and new legendaries based on stuff from the northeastern US.
The William S. Clark connection wouldn’t even be new for Pokémon, the Saparo Pokémon Center had a product line that featured a William S. Clark Pikachu plush.
Could just be as simple as black and white was a popular generation and they wanted to fuse that into something new they're doing i.e Legends Arceus. If more of the beloved pokémon are in Arceus then maybe more people will buy. Always about money man but great research and good video
I think they took more pokemon from Johto than they did Unova
Sinnoh always had plenty of Johto mons. Was to hint at Gen II remakes (plus because Johto mons needed evos badly).
This was great, very Lockstin-esc which is unique for the majority of your content. Hella dope
Your theory does explain some things. I wouldn't call the mystery "solved" however.Too many other mystery remain. Unova remakes are the next after Gen 9. I believe some of these storyline elements may come into play into the next Unova centric game.
Your journalism is always so thorough and well presented! Amazing video
i do not think legends is done yet, I expect that with everything gamefreak tells us from now until October will come with a free update for legends just like daybreak. oh, this one gives more time-space distortions giving like 50 new pokemon and items as well as requests and helping ingo or some such nonsense. the next one gives you the task of founding all of Sinnohs towns then we get to start the first pokemon league before ending off with going to sinjoh.
i know you would've mentioned already but also zorua and zoroark got a new form!
the zoroark line has a strong relation with N, so i wouldn't surprised if N was in the next generation game, it would be really cool i might add
Lollies dad went back in time
But that’s a theory
A game theory
Personally, I think its foreshadowing for a Unova Legends game. Think about how in X and Y we got a lot of Hoenn Mega evolutions. Then, we got Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. I guess we'll just see!
That was a great video - great explanation!!
I'm not sure if it's the sole reason but that's a mighty plausible connection to make. Nice work, Hoops!
I definitely wouldn't call legend Arceus a remake. It's a completely different style of a Pokemon game
Amazing research and connections made!
This maybe the greatest historical parallel in a game I've ever seen. Brilliant work here. You really did your research.
Unova representation? Have you seen the vast amount of galar representation? (Tbf galar is more only character based where as unova is evenly spread between characters and Pokémon so it makes sense)
They should make a Black and White 3. Continue the tradition of breaking tradition with that region.
Also Macha is good, but one time I got this thing that was like a Macha flavored Moon Pie and it was f***n nasty
Britain and U.S.A. brought navels ships in the 1840s to 1860s that attacked ports in Kyoto; Japan then ended their isolationist policies after internal wars resulted in solidified control under their emperor. Hence, The West was welcomed to help modernize Japan in the late 1800s to early 1900s.
I wouldn't write off an upcoming Legends based in Unova because it has interesting lore to work with. But these points and references are really interesting to know. Nice video.
I noticed all the unova references. I figured it was them hinting toward the next remake or legends game
Probably foreshadowing the Black and White remake and legends game coming in gen 9 maybe?
Amazingly insightful
This could be a possibility, if you ignore the games, themselves. We know that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will have Hisuian forms in them. I think the Space Time rift might play an important role in the games, and explain certain things from Legends. Or, when the Gen 5 remakes come out, they could end up showing what happens, and how Ingo showed up.
That’s actually very cool I do wonder if there’s a reason a lot of Unova Pokémon got Galarian forms in SWSH
I feel like this explanation is the most likely the inspiration for the unova appearances but still so fascinating to here this history. I never knew that and wish schools would have went into this part of American history. So amazing to see how much thought the devs put into this and honestly I hope they make more. Definitely my new favorite Pokémon game
This is an interesting connection. I don't think you can completey write off the remake foreshadowing though. We thought it was too early for gen 9 up until it was announced, so why disount the possibility? Unova references have been ramping up this whole generation, not just in Legends. Yes, the UK and US have obvious historical connections, but the fact that Unova is next on the remake schedule is too coincidencental for me. Especially when the less obvious historical connection in Legends got more references. We already know Game Freak LOVE doing this kind of foreshadowing.
5:42 this could be will gonna conform in JN anime in last because unova,s present champion is iris we dont know about where is Alser now.
Not only all that you said at the beginning, Unova Pokemon got the most Hisuian forms out of any other region
Most Variants out of all of Gen 8 in general.
Wow I can't believe how much research you had to go through to sift through these facts, and it seems to indeed play a part in the game! Crazy to see another layer of inspiration behind Enamorus too, the ugly genie sure is a mile deep of lore
I personally think you want to see a pattern. If you look at all of the others that you're excluding from your list, it seems quite random.
Starter gens: 2, 5, 7
Ride mon gens: 2, 2, 2, 5, 5
noble mon gens: 1, 1, 1&2 (kleavor), 5, 6
Warden ancestor gens: 3 (Mars), 4 (Marley), 4 (Cheryl), 5 (Clay), 5 (Marlon), 5 (Ingo*) 6 (Wulfric), 7 (Mina), 7 (Hapu), 8 (Avery???)
Alder & Enamorous I have to give to you
*not an ancestor, but actually himself. Unless... own grandpa?
However, there does seem to be a bigger portion of gen 2 and 5 representation in the starter and ride mons. Looking at the LAST releases we had of each region, we see the following:
Kanto 2018 (LGPE)
Johto 2009/10 (HGSS)
Hoenn 2014 (ORAS)
Sinnoh 2021 (BDSP)
Unova 2012 (B2W2)
Kalos 2013 (XY)
Alola 2017 (USUM)
Galar 2019 (SS)
So Johto(2), then Unova(5), then Kalos(6) are the regions we haven't seen for the longest. Not strange that pokemon from the first two of those are getting some screentime - even if just so we don't forget them.
I'm just hoping for Legends: Victini
What if the Unova region has some deep connections with Scarlett and Violet like if they're close by or has similar Pokemon? And before you say Unova is based on America and Scarlett and Violet is based on Spain which aren't close. That has nothing to do with our world this is Pokemon world the maps can be different.
I’m surprised no one ever mention how Alder looks like pokemon colosseum cipher admin dakim they both have similar hairstyle and pokeball necklaces around their necks.
I don't think this explains much except for enamorus. It makes for a good reference and a excuse to creat her but for all the other Unova references no. More of a coincidence that there are Unova representatives here for me.
yhea and where are the marill, wooper, wingull, feebas, swablu, goldeen, girafarig, houndour, absol, meditite, tropius and hoothoot line from the Og games? That's 22 missing pokemon and I would've like to see an alpha milotic
When I think Meiji, I think war with Russia (I thought Volo was Russian), and I also think about Hondo's colonization of Ezochi. It's possible that the starters are based on Ainu Kamuy. The MC's clothing seems very Ainu inspired as well. I believe that when viewing some of the game through an Ainu lens, a lot more meaning can be found.
One small thing that I have noticed is that Lavington's name sounds like a mix of Lavender and ton, which I am pretty sure is the old English word for town. I was wondering if you could look into this.
Middle English, but is interesting given Lavender Town.
Thank you. I couldn't remember which it was. But yeah, Lavender Town was the first thing that came to mind.
4:35 Does that girl have a shiny Oshawott? I never noticed it in Pokemon Evolutions.
It has the body of a shiny one, but the color of the nose is that of a normal Oshawott.
Pokémon Legends is definitely foreshadowing a Unova game in its future. The entire lore of GEN 5 is some of the best. Plus can you image a Legends game explain the Original Dragon Form of Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyruem. We are going to get a new cycle for games after this 8th generation ends when they launch SV. I think they pushed both games PLA and PS/V in such a short time. They needed to get Gen 9 this year. So In 2024 We well get a remake by ILCA or other sub studio or some kind of Lets Go style game. Finally we will get a PL game based off Unova in 2025 before GEN 10 launches in 2026.
I have a theory…. Maybe the next game is going to be based on the unova region. Oh oh maybe we will see the legend of the princes and the true dragon face to face in the future.
Oh and also I have always theorized that Ingo and Emmet might be descendants of the twin princes… or maybe Ingo is his own ancestor and he is the father of the twin princes or something. You can come up with a lot.
The Princes are from 3K years ago or so, iirc, don't think L.A. takes place that far back.
I thought all the Unova references were odd too.
I think this is all just a stretch since there is also ancestors for characters from other regions. The professor seems to be the ancestor of hop and Leon for example
Think will still get our gen 5 remakes after and if well get a legends kyurem
we need a sidequest in Scarlet and Violet that relates to the Subway Masters because Arceus is gonna get a community asswhooping by the Submas fanbase if we don't get closure on Ingo and Emmet
Probably Easter Eggs to hint at Gen 5 remakes
I think it's implied that sinnoh and Unova are relatively close to one another. I'm pretty sure the two closest regions to Sinnoh is Johto and Unova. Wyrdeer, Ursaluna and Sneasler are all new evolutions of Johto pokemon, and at a stretch you could say Kleavor is an alternate Scizor.
Yeah maybe black and white remakez are coming or a least a kyurems legends
The police officer or security guard that appears before Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has something to do with Ingo?????
I call Pokémon ledgends unova frontier usa
Is it just me or do I really miss the old intro with the cyndaquil listening to music?
So ingo got Futuramaed or in this case past oh Rama to help save the world lol
On scarlet and violet I am hoping to get regional for golett. Not even getting a variant feels bad I know that ppl are drawing regional variant for it, I am hoping for a ghost water, like a ruined sea rock with moss, but it’s a type of country am hoping the next game in front of scarlet/violet,
Id say them hinting at remakes isn't too far off, hell fire emblem awakening and fates had plenty of fe Gaiden refrences and of course a remake of Gaiden came out after those 2
The remake would be four years away
How does it go from mystery being solved to just being a bunch of theories lmao
My question is why is a johto starter and rowlett as starters 🤔
Johto is probably because of the links Sinnoh has to Johto. As for Rowler, it might be because archers were big in Japan. Even today, archery as a sport exists. Which come to think of it, might explain the fighting type.
forgot to point out Zorua
Ok this is insanely off topic but it popped into my mind right before I opened the video. A girafarig evolution thats a nuckaleeve
Legends kyurem
this video is gonna age bad when legends kyruem comes out next year lol
I wanna see the original dragon so bad. But with S&V coming at the close of 2022 I don't see another big pokemon game coming out til about mid to late 2024 because I would bet S&V will get DLC which will be what the 2nd team will be working on.
I kinda think the BW remake might be too soon.
technically ingo got sent from unova to hisui so uhhhhhhhhhhhh
Bread 🥖
Do another random pokemon video please hoops.
I think they're trying to make up for & tell us they're skipping to X & Y remakes!
wait, I'm pretty sure sinnoh is confirmed to be close to Unova. In B2W2, you can go to a place north (?) of unova, and you apparently see Sinnoh from the area.
I think that's the case...
You mean “the cave of being” the one that mesprit, azelf, and uxie are located
@@venturavasquez6422 I think that might be it, I remember it being around humilau, and that's all I remember...
Gen 5 Remakes on the way.
i think hisui is unova and sinnoh combined
I don't see that at all.
It’s gotta be more broad than this. Legends is a game about colonialism, shaping a new land for settlement by foreign people. America was extremely present in all Japanese industrialization projects and functioned as a colonial power over Japan as much as Japan did in its northern islands. America is gonna be very evident in any Meiji period piece
That’s why I don’t like the theories that regions in the game are geographically accurate to earth. I believe all these regions are either neighbored or closer that we think. I don’t like the theory that we’ll be able to go to kalos because France and Spain share a bordering countries.
You sat that, but 3 out of 5 ride pokémon are johto based. And 3 out of 5 noble pokémon are kanto based
Makes sense given those two are the closest known regions to Sinnoh.
I can't tell if you didnt read my comment, or did and made this video...
Expanding your point, it's not just new york, hisui is 50/50 japan/US. Sinnoh/Johto / Unova/Alola.
Also, like I stated in my last comment. PLA didn't happen. It's a space/time branch caused by Volo/Giratina. Sinnoh was Sinnoh before this (stated in the game) and is Sinnoh after. Obviously BDSP is the future of PLA. DPP is the universe where this did not happen. IMO, it is actually possible that every PLA character is cherry picked from different universes, NOT literal Ancestors of the original DPP... But does end up being ancestors of the universe BDSP is in. This also fixes the 'you are your own descendent' theory.
Are u poke tips mike
Can we stop pretending that the Alder look alike is actually Alder and not his ancestor? Continuing to say it every chance you get isn’t gonna make it anymore true.
Hm, interesting.
is it "confirmed" that some NPCs from PLA are the ancestors of today´s NPCs??
Yes, the official site confirmed Komado as Rowan's ancestor right away.
There's already a Black and White remake:
*Black 2 and White 2*
How can those games be THAT forgettable???
