Download Asphalt now to save your progress for Asphalt Legends Unite's release in July: gmlft.co/alu-linkus7 | #asphaltlegendsunite #alupartner Really loved working on this video, if there is any other games/categories you want me to cover/explain next be sure to let me know!
Asphalt is such a good game. It’s been a while but I love racing in Asphalt 9 in 2023. It is a grinding game but I cannot complain because how good the game is.
@@wolfiemuse The game is well known yes but for speedrunning the game isn't held in as high of a regard compared to games like Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 etc.
what's so crazy is that Pope can do all these frame perfect movements flawlessly while talking to and reading chat.. but on top of that he does it while the most aggressive alerts and TTS play.... like constantly. 10/10 would recommend checking it out.
Guys at the end of this stream he said if this video did well, he said he'll do this with Oot, And if that did well he said he would learn Skyward sword and we all know he "hates" skyward sword
I really love this kind of videos explaining the glitches, skips, movement and other simple things keep the good work coming linkus and I am still waiting for ww all dungeons wr I trust you linkus and gl
10:15 people might wonder why there is a grotto exit but no grotto there. The answer is that there are two grottos with 4 exits in deku palace on the Japanese version (in addition to the bean grotto that is there in all versions). They were removed on English presumably because they weren't necessary and somewhat confusing.
@@awsmrs I knew this like... oh my god... 20 years ago. In fact I found the clip in swamp gossip that is used in this run to clip to and exit this grotto. Not 20 years ago though. But probably 10 at this point...
These speedrun explained videos are really good, because they allow you to watch a speedrun in the future and actually be able to enjoy watching it. Not understanding anything and not having it explained makes it hard to watch speedruns in general. Ty for the explanation and I'm looking forward to seeing more content like this!
In her defense the shop music is very cool, who would want to leave Edit: nevermind i didnt get to the part where he said she wasnt in the shop for that part
28:02 You forgot to mention that the only reason why they are able to talk to the fairy in goht's room is because they deleted their ocarina earlier. Doing this makes the game think you are in first cycle again, complete with a faster clock, and fairy prompts 10 seconds after loading every room. This is critical to the speedrun, as there is no other textbox in goht's room that can be used for action swap. I learned this from watching ZFG's randomizers.
Definitely love these breakdowns, it adds a fun layer onto it for a casual perspective and showcases the skill these runners have in order to do all the precise tricks one after another with ease. Thanks for the quality content :D
I don't often comment on videos, but I wanted to jump in here to ask for more videos like this explaining the glitches! I personally play all my games vanilla, but since discovering your channel(s) a few months ago, I have deep-dived into your content and am absolutely fascinated by what it means to be a speedrunner. Thanks for putting out great videos as well as for making videos like this that "make sense of the glitches" for those of us that are new to the concept. Cheers!
Thankfully, Linkus did a great job explaining things so I was able to follow along and understand it, but that certainly doesn't make these glitches any less ridiculous
It's incredible how I keep learning new things about this game so many years after! I never knew that the witch from the shop would leave her stand to go and look for her sister, and it also makes sense, that she wanted to go search for her in the woods. Props to the developers
Watched it live on twitch but still love to watch it here once again! I really love the commentary, it is clear and allows regular people to understand and love the speedrun even more! ❤
These Glitch/Speedrun explanation vids are some of my favorite content on your channel. It's so fun to learn little nuiances of information about how a game is programmed and such that make it exploitable in the strangest ways.
I like these kind of videos. One of my all time faves of these is fearful ferrets speedrun of DS2 with 5 rotten because its explained in a way I can understand and follow the kind of "planning" that goes into a run.
It was a fun watch and I was pretty dumbfounded at all the glitches used being a pure casual to Zelda. Would love to see more of these videos for sure! Pref OoT and TP (totally not biased nope)!:3 cheers from Lidköping!
i think it's worth mentioning: in the North part of Clock Town, near the great fairy, there's a minigame area that involves using the Deku's abilities to complete obstacle courses. completing this three times (once per day in the same cycle) gets you a "piece of heart". it's possible to do THAT during the very first cycle! yes, i've done it myself. also, i like to get the Stone Mask, which makes you invisible, before going into the pirate's lair! that makes it REALLY easy and fast to get through! no glitch needed!
Your speedrun explained videos are literally some of my favourite content on UA-cam, I'd love if you did one for all 3D zeldas and even more beyond that
I’ve been a fan of speed running since I discovered GDQ in 2016. Seen many of your runs along with PopeSquidward and many others. Thank you so much for making a video I can finally understand!
first off, thank you for this i love the speed run deep dive, more would be amazing. i actually enjoyed the 2nd boss fight with the goron mask, i loved the spike roll, the running high speed battle was awesome, and the zone (i think) respawned magic jars to keep you charged. i actually really liked all of the original intended mechanic boss fights except the first one (i found it boring), they all felt really epic and unique.
I like the glitch breakdowns. First, I can actually understand the runs instead of being like: ......... yeah, what the hell just happened? Second, they give me some understanding of how the games are programmed and thus exploitable, which is just really interesting. Third, they make me want to try some of the glitches by myself. I' currently trying to get storage and super swim in WW to work consistently, just for fun. And if I get there, I might attempt mss to actually be able to start a speedrun attempt... yeah, probably not gonna happen, but one can dream.
This was great to see! Your expert commentary really made it worth watching! :D Love your enthusiasm and energy when you get to explaining the really hard and interesting parts!
I know it takes longer, but fighting Goht as Goron Link is one of the funnest Zelda boss battles for me, so my heart breaks a little when speedrunners do the bow strat. Another Top Fun Zelda Boss for me would be Twinmold as Archery Practice, which is always fun to watch (but especially in a speedrun). Thanks again to PopeSquidward for lending his VOD for this showcase!
Linkus, love the content, always have even in my teen years! I Actually love the sponsorship this time and used the link to support you! I hope it makes a difference somehow :)
Of course you should do the other games. I've been watching all these different Zelda speedrun explanations from you. I always pick up an easy trick here and there to use on a casual run. This time I learned about simply back stepping to clip between the guard and the wall to escape Clock Town early.
Hecc yeah I want to see more things like this. As a game developer by trade, I love seeing the way passionate communities interact with the game as a medium and see how they interact and manipulate the code to perform these awesome glitches!
Yes, I would like to see more Zelda Speedrun breakdowns but also just throwing this out there, maybe some glitch breakdown and/or tutorial? Like I wanna learn how to do some more glitches for MMR, but trying to watch other tutorials is painful cause either the whole process goes over my head or the explanation just isn't that great. Anyways, Thanks for the vids Linkus
I'd love to see someone like MrGrunz make a return and do a TAS run of the current route to see how much time could be saved if every input was optimal
Wow I've never seen anything like this before, also I can't be able to finish the game , it's a beautiful ending. It's incredible the people spending hours finding bugs to solve the video game. I really love this video
Really good video as always, dude. =] I'm interested to see what impact explanation videos like this have on the various speedrunning communities - hopefully they can help expand their reach and help make more niche runs/games more popular/sustainable.
I love this kind of content in general and I think if you continue with even more detailed explanations and broader games then you’ll reach a larger audience too
I like to call the 1st cycle "the deku cycle" cause you literally only play as a deku and it's less confusing than "1st cycle." Many other people do this tho ik.
Remote Hookshot plus stick action swap...I wonder what that would look like if it were actually in universe. Just...replace the hookshot chain with a stick that expands and retracts (what an amazing item)?

Dude makes an already hard game harder for himself, Pope is legendary.
He was in a stream? If he messed up even once during these glitches he'd have to restart and he was having conversations??!!!!
Right, it's absolutely incredible. I never realized just how precise the Majora fight was ... had to lift my jaw off the floor between the two phases.
Pope is literally a hometown hero. Absolutely love that guy.

Yeah, it’s probably his favorite Zelda game, but he doesn’t want us to know it.
he said he’ll most likely get a new wiimote as his has weird tracking

I love these kinds of videos. I actually prefer the VOD review over a live playthrough because you are able to put more focus into the explanations

Holy shit, pope mentioned. That’s awesome! His MM 100% world record speed run is one of my all time favorite runs to watch.
I remember listening to it in the background and switching to watching it when it seemed like he was actually winning. Great run.
Just ridiculous.
Imma be honest, seen link pick up "The blue zone" killed me. I can only imagine devs of this game seen this and having a good laugh 😂😂😂

“This item is the most broken item in the whole game”
Once you said he returned the ocarina to the inventory I was like gone. "So he just used a glitch to unglitch a glitch??" Speedrunners fascinate me.
