    What about consulting about Industrial Relations and HR legal compliance?

    • @hrhubtalk
      @hrhubtalk  Рік тому +1

      Hi Nirvana. Yes that's a thing. Most if not all general HR consultants will provide support in the area of legal compliance although not all will provide industrial/labour relations support. I do though. Happy to chat here or on LinkedIn!

    Hi there, himanth here all the way from India, liked your video, could you make more videos on HR recruitment for small HR consulting company?

      Hi Himanth. Thanks for the feedback and reaching out. Can you give me more information? Do you want to know more about how to get a job as a consultant? Or how to recruit from within a consultant?
      If I understand what you want... I will look for an opportunity to do it! You can also reach out to me on LinkedIn and we can chat there. andrea-adams1

    How would an HR consultant find clients if they are just starting out?

    • @hrhubtalk
      @hrhubtalk  3 роки тому

      Hi Bonne Chic. That's a good question. I've asked Vered and will add her answer! As I said in the video, my dad was an HR consultant and he was connected to many clients through his lawyer and accountant.

      Great question. When I started consulting friends, colleagues, and former employers became my first clients. A former employer needed some support with recruitment, a parent at my daughter’s school needed some HR support for a business he started, a family friend needed some help with HR policies and employee agreements. Let your network know what you’re doing and how you can help!

    I just started at the first HR hire for a small company (30ish employees). Do you have any videos with some advice I might take away?

    • @hrhubtalk
      @hrhubtalk  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Jesse. Many of them. haha. As the solo HR person you will touch so many areas of HR. Is the company in growth mode? Because if they are, I would watch this one: ua-cam.com/video/j-VgCwALJb0/v-deo.html
      Otherwise, I would watch any of the basic ones. ua-cam.com/play/PLutuy51UW8DaOy8vBt7yb1pw6Lfpj-Ma_.html You won't likely need to know much about things like people analytics IMO because small organizations have more basic needs. You might also watch this one about recruitment: ua-cam.com/video/fwfehU68sl4/v-deo.html . This is a great question though. I'm having the same experience as a consultant (slightly different but similar) and I think an episode like this could be useful! I'll start looking for someone!

      @@hrhubtalk Perfect! Sorry for not clarifying because I do believe a lot of your videos are relevant. We are definitely in growth mode. Have pretty ambitious goals that we are trending so a lot of my work is in ensuring compliance, building policies for the future, and doing my best to set us up for success as much as possible (at least my department). I definitely have the skills in a little bit of everything with previous Recruiting and HR Generalist Experience as well as Policy creation, implementation etc but just was wondering on your input/recommendations for things I should consider, expect, be careful of.
      I appreciate your response! I look forward to consuming much of your content since discovering you today.

      @@jjayjewel I'm totallly going to make an episode out of this. LOL If I could add my two cents, I would say, create process earlier. Try not to wait for problems to point out which process you need. Of course you don't want to alienate your clients by setting up to much that isn't relevant. It's a balance. Take the time to hire right which fortunately you have the skills to do. And prepare (at least mentally) for the transition between the small team where everyone knows everything to where people need to specialize and focus on their area. Try to discourage too many short cuts for the sake of expedience. I'm dealing with some of this myself at the moment so... it's personal. I should rewatch that episode with Maysa. :)

    • @jjayjewel
      @jjayjewel 2 роки тому +1

      @@hrhubtalk Thank you for that! Literally every suggestion I make is received easily because we all have this “growth mentality” but I’m definitely trying to get ahead of the curve. Can’t wait for your new episodes (I have plenty to keep me busy in the meantime)!
      Thanks again!

    • @hrhubtalk
      @hrhubtalk  2 роки тому

      Hi Dr. Floral Show. That's a good idea. I did do an episode with an independent recruiter. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/MmuAXIeHz6k/v-deo.html
      If that isn't quite what you are thinking (and it might not be) what questions do you have on the topic? I'd be happy to find someone to talk to! In fact I have a someone I've been thinking about talking to who might have many thoughts on the subject.
