Pilates Wunda Chair Footwork on the Pilates Pro Chair: Beginner Friendly!

  • Some of you have reached out to me asking for beginner-friendly exercises on the Pilates pro chair and I am here with fundamental footwork exercises for you! You might expect Pilates chair exercises to be easy- after all, they are performed in a chair, right? Wrong! If you have practiced on the Wunda chair or Pilates pro chair, you may be aware that some exercises are incredibly challenging and feel like acrobatics.
    Today we will focus on the footwork exercises that will allow you to remain seated for most and are appropriate for beginner level practitioners. If weighting to medium or heavy resistance is to much for you, stay on a light resistance throughout.
    I will be back with more fundamental exercises on the pro chair in the future.

    So yesterday driving into town for milk. I spoke outloud my wishes for our world to be healed and my desire to better take care of myself so I could be of service to my family and community as I age. Approaching the grocery store I suddenly decided to stop in the thrift store and there sat a Pilates Pro Chair for $10, fitting into my current budget 😅. I think my prayers we're heard and I was dooly encouraged to get going. Thanks for the video ❤

    Thank you for making this video. I have been doing knee rehab and this is really good for me. One suggestion, since this is for beginners: it is possible to separate the pedals on this Pilates chair, which makes it less difficult to do the push downs with the single leg. I did this and it was good for me and I hope to be able to build up to keeping both pedals together and being able to push down to the floor with a single leg, but right now it is too much for me. People should realize they have the option of releasing the bar that connects the pedals and doing one pedal at a time with half the resistance.

      Yes- absolutely. This is a perfect modification to make as most Pilates chairs do have the split pedal option (it's awesome.) It's so important to work from where you are at. I've been in the knee rehab game myself- be patient and keep working!! Thanks for your comment.

      @@BennieBarrePilatesStudio just a nice full body flow beginner and intermediate with some lay on the floor arms and abs. I have se a couple using the Pilates box in front of the chair and you lay on it and pump your feet and crunch. Thank you for replying back
