I think it's about time I made a special remix of one of the greatest Sonic song of all time. And it isn't even from any of the games!
There aren't really that many South Island remixes out there, and most of them just use the original song while adding new drums or something. With this, I challenged myself to make everything completely from scratch... which was a pain because I just can't get that perfect 80s guitar sound...

So just to be clear we’ve got:
South Island Theme
Stardust Speedway
Voice clips from Speed Highway
And voice clips from Sonic 3
A job done well I’d say
Those same Speed Highway samples are in one of the original versions of Stardust Speedway, if I'm not mistaken
@@handsomezack2204 "Up and down and all around us" is in Speed Highway, "Come on" is from from Sonic 3 Boss Fight. They were never in CD.

That "Up and down and all around" gives me life. But it bugs me since it also uses improper grammar. You can't use two "ands" in a sentence.

To bad for sonic. Metal can always be rebuild cloned and will never stop trying to kill him. Making that one scene nearly meaningless. Eggman just will rebuild him endlessly until he finally wins.

@@Silver-Synthesis tbh they did kill that specific metal sonic off completely, they destroyed the CD with his data on it. any metal after is a new and different one compared to OVA, which is unfortunate since it means he probably won't be close to coming back to being good again

I almost didn't recognize this song from the OVA, until 1:10, the moment that saxophone kicked in, I felt my mind flash back to when I was a little kid watching this on the DVD..... wow... the nostalgia is real..

Never knew South Island mixed with Stardust Speedway would sound so beautiful... It's like both song were meant to be mixed together, and the fact both somehow has the same tempo to sync that perfectly, makes it extra special.
For example, going from 2:05 at the end, it's such a blast! Also funny considering both song plays when Sonic fights Metal.

Idk if I’ve left a comment on here before but as a kid I was already pretty obsessed with the South Island theme because it’s such a fun vibe. MESHING IT WITH SEVERAL COMPONENTS FROM METAL SONIC’S STARDUST SPEEDWAY (ANOTHER AWESOME SONG FROM THIS SERIES) SOUNDS IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE THEY’RE CRAZY DIFFERENT VIBES YET YOU MADE IT WORK AND IF I EVER WANT TO HEAR SOUTH ISLAND’S THEME 98% OF THE TIME I THINK “I wanna hear South Island Faker” literally an incredible mashup. Thank you for this. Also want to not throwing in the “Up, and down, and all around” just does a lot for me, idk why lmao

These are 2 of my favorite Sonic tracks mixed together. Love it.
We need this theme after sonic and metal are fighting over a chaos emerald and they at both of their limits and use all their power to boost at eachother recreating the ova scene with this theme.

Sonic OVA South Island theme is my absolute favorite theme from any Sonic franchise and Sonic CD was one of my favorite classic Sonic games when I was a kid. I love how you mixed the South Island theme with tracks in Sonic CD, like this. Awesome job, dude. :)
